This is a very underappreciated State Park.
There is a swimming pool that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day while the size is medium. It does look like a wonderful addition to a State Park trip with the family.

The welcome center was very typical for the state park system in Georgia and the Ranger. There was super helpful as usual.

We found a small trail called Victoria’s loop, or something like that, which was a 3/4 mile loop across the stream. The pictures of the river as well as the trailer all this loop. I would call it borderline magical. You can drive your car across the stream or you can take your shoes off and walk through it. I highly recommend!! Alice, there seems to be group shelters which are large enough to house, huge groups, as well as an overall quiet aura of peace here.

There is a decent size lake, which, from what we can tell, was stocked with fish.

I was not expecting much out of the state park, but it really did surprise me. Would definitely come back to camp here.

Great park, super park rangers, and hosts. Even with some minor electrical issues, it was a great first-time stay. We will be back.

Went back, and I had a wonderful, uneventful stay. For part of the weekend, there were scouts and youth groups in the primitive sites, but with lots of room and lots to do, they were well behaved.

This is one of my favorites State Park. It is a very clean park. The campsites are very spacious. Each campsite has a picnic table, a fire ring, and a bbq.
Bathrooms are very clean and heated.
I will be back, for sure.

This is one of the most prettiest parks I’ve seen in Georgia. Currently they are doing some renovations, but nonetheless my stay was awesome (7/23/23).
Things I love about this park
-They have a huge pool ($5 a person swimming or not) .
- It has a pretty creek that you can explore with the kids
-It has a playground
-The office staff was SUPER nice. Very pleasant and helpful. Not a lot of variety in store items, but they’re working on it.

Very nice campground. Our site was a level fine gravel base. Super nice folks . We stayed at site # one. I highly recommend this site as well as 2 and 27 if you plan to play golf next door. From our site, the 4th hole was around 400 yards away. Biked to the clubhouse. Very convenient. Super golf course, walking trails through the woods. Great time. We'll be back!

Nice moderate hiking trails and VERY nice RV sites. We stayed in site #2, which is second closest to the playground, but much more shaded. Absolutely recommend 2 in the summer. Site 1 is all sun. Bath house in the bigger loop with the playground was under construction (being upgraded, but not available for use) but the other bath house is close. Two 30 amp services instead of 50. Bring a double 30 to 50 adapter or deal with popping the breakers. $6/person for the tiny pool (even parents just watching kids..) but the river is free. There's a great kiddy-pool calm area easy to get to with parking close by, but we walked everywhere.

This beautiful state park is the only state park in GA to have covered platform camp sites for tent camping. Beautiful trails and the flowing creek with play areas, peaceful trails by the creek, observation platforms, and pretty bridges to watch the creek from make it very enticing. Great place for family camping.

A very relaxing and calm experience. The creek was nice. My dog absolutely loves the water and had a great time, too. The campsites and group areas are clean and accessible. They even have primitive camping for you back to basics types. There's even a golf course nearby. Didn't check it out though.

This is really nice State Park. Good place for moderate difficulty hikes. Some interesting nature places for longer hike enthusiasts. Not far away from the visitor center is small pool (more for kids and families) and down from there am access to relaxing hike by the creek.

For larger groups, the pioneer campsites are reasonably priced and incredibly spacious; ours had three three-sided cabin-like shelters that nicely accomodate tents; a large fire pit; a water faucet; and multiple picnic tables. Nearby trails are well marked and offer varying lengths (from .5 to 3.5.miles), and behind the visitor's center is a large pool our grandchildren loved. Oh, and it's only 90 minutes from Atlanta. Recommended.

A great state park- friendly staff friendly camp host. Lots of families and kids riding bikes and playing. The park facilities were very clean and well maintained. The trails are a bit difficult- maybe rain water caused alot of the issue but I would still return. This park was very relaxing. I would give 10 stars on of Georgia's better state parks for sure.

TO THE CAMPGROUND HOST IN #4 & TO THE PARK RANGER (please forgive me, i dont recall your names)... YOU 2 ARE THE BEST AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

From our house to the Park is a 4 hour drive, usually not bad for us. With 3 boy toddlers & 1 old girl, we were finally leaving just little after 12 pm. Not bad, pulling trailer gice the extra hour be right at 5 pm when be pulling in.. WE MADE IT 3 MILES!!! IM SAYING AGAIN 3 MILES AWAY FROM THE PARK AND A TIRE BLEW ON THE TRAVEL TRAILER!! I HAD ALREADY CALLED THE OFFICE ABOUT 4PM LETTING THEM KNOW GPS SAYS WE'LL ARRIVE APPROXIMATELY 5:40ISHPM. NO BIG DEAL, TOLD TO JUST GO TO SITE AND CHECKIN NEXT AM... SOUNDS GOOD!! AGAIN 3 MILES FROM THE PARK!! of course if you know me, "yeah yeah ill buy a spare, ill get to it." well i waited waited and now i couldve used a spare tire, thats right NO spare!.. luckily wife and kids were in Van following so we take van into the park and thats when the best campground host helped even though she was off duty already in relaxing for the night she called the park ranger and he came to the site.. host lended her spare tire but hers was 6 lug and mine is a 5 lug. Ranger went to shop and his shop trailer was 5 lug!! so what does he do? HE FOLLOWS UA 3 MILES TO THE CAMPER, HELPS ME CHANGE TIRES AND FOLLOWS ME BACK TO OUR SITE!! NOW ITS 8PM BY TIME WE GET IN!!! NEXT DAY, GOT A TIRE ORDERED AT LOCAL TIRE SHOP THEN THE 3RD DAY TIRE CAME IN SO I CHANGED TIRES AND GAVE THE RANGER BACK HIS SHOP TIRE... THEY HELPED SOO MUCH THAT IT WAS SUCK A RELIEVE AND DIDNT LET THIS RUIN OUR WEEK LONG STAY THERE...SO GRATEFUL FOR THEM TWO PEOPLE.... OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE SURE WE MADE IT AND WAS SAFE AND KEPT US NOT STRESSING OUT..

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Campground is quiet, clean and quiet!
Clean Bathrooms/showers

This state park is one of the most beautiful state parks in Georgia I’ve ever seen. It was just lovely. The creek and the rocks, the fishing ponds, it was all so pretty. The day we went, it was raining, so I’m super bummed that we didn’t get to enjoy more of the park, but what we saw was wonderful and I can’t wait to go back.

Nice campground, sites are a good size and not so close that you're on top of someone else. We have been several times and enjoyed it, so our daughter and her family came this time. We were kind of disappointed that the pool was closed. We were looking forward to taking the grandkids swimming. But it has still been a nice trip.
