I have a local parish Facebook group. have been posting about king cakes this year and sharing my enthusiasm for the best king cakes from Livingston to New Orleans. Many people in my group recommended Navarre's. This is just a fun thing to do so I recommend it. I have never done the comparisons before but I do admit that I am having a great time with this. I have to give mad props to the ones that recommended Navarre's Pastries in Springfield. I finally found the time to take the drive. It was a beautiful day so the kids and I took a drive. Google Maps took us exactly where we needed to go with no problem.

We arrived mid morning. Navarre's had a fun atmosphere as the taxidermy animals on the wall were dressed for Mardi Gras. The kids got a kick out of that.😊 The place was clean and customers were in and out quickly. They had a bunch of busy employees which is great to see.

I didn't have to wait long before I was met with a happy employee that was so great at answering my 101 questions. I could tell that he loves his job and was proud to be there. That is so very good to see also. Mad props to him.

I decided to go with one of my favorite flavors but it is also a customer favorite flavor at the store, strawberry cream cheese. By the way, he told me that we are lucky they even had any because they are almost always sold out. I do believe you can call in and they take your order over the phone to guarantee one but call the store to double check that.

Once I picked it out, we also got a couple of donuts and this very delish Apple cream cheese turnover that was dusted in cinnamon and sugar. By the way, that turnover was absolutely wonderful and I will totally drive out there again just for those!

After dinner tonight, I broke open the box in anticipation and dove right in. Ya'll were right!! This has to be the most fresh king cake I ever had! The cream cheese was not too sweet but the sweetness of the strawberry filling counteracts it in such a way that is perfect. Not too sweet! I never liked an overly sweet king cake. The secret to me is in the dough! You have to have the right amount of dough, filling, and glaze to perfect a king cake in my opinion. The dough was so soft and fresh! Navarre's is top notch!

I pick up fresh pastries here often and a couple of king cakes every year. Best King Cake this side of town for sure. The blueberry cream cheese was delicious....

I had recently conceded to the fact that I just didn't like King Cake any longer. Being born and raised in Louisiana, that is almost a sin! Well thank goodness Navarre's has saved this almost sinner, lol. This was THE BEST KING CAKE I have EVER had!! We got the Strawberry Cream Cheese and man oh man!!! The dough was moist and buttery. No dry leathery stuff going on here!! The filling was nicely proportioned and spread throughout the layers and the icing was creamy cream cheesy with the perfect amount of sweetness.
We will be going back to try the Blueberry Cream Cheese and the Bavarian Cream. They are rolling these out all day during the season and we are hooked!!

Delicious king cakes! One of best in the state. Definitely has made it on my Louisiana King Cake Trail list...

I've passed by this bakery in Springfield many times and decided to try their King Cake today. It was delish. One of the best I've ever eaten. Not over powering with colored sugar. The dough was hands down the freshest and softest I've ever had and the strawberry cream cheese feeling was the bomb.
Additionally, everyone was super friendly and made us feel very welcome and grateful for our patronage. I will definitely frequent this establishment more often!

The absolute best King Cake I’ve ever had. The cake is moist and has a ton of delicious filling. The ladies behind the counter were very nice as well.

Country charm, nice people, awesome donuts. Listen, this isn't your corporate chain pastries, these are down home donuts. They aren't perfect cookie cutter donuts - put one in your mouth and you'll taste the difference. A must try if you're in town.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. My husband and I have both been coming here since high school and we can't get enough. Every single time we come into town, this is a priority! Today, they changed everything for us and meeting the man, the myth, the legend, Mr.Navarre himself! Such a phenomenal and fantastic experience. We will be back very soon, as always. And thank you so much for your support!

PS: Take it from a local. Best donuts, king cakes, and service I've ever had in my life! I very much look forward to having a king cake sent over whenever my family and I are in Japan next year!

Amazing service and the best doughnuts I've had to date! A local business dedicated to providing a great experience for everyone. If you're looking for a sweet or savory breakfast this is your spot! Also during King Cake season they make the absolute best in my opinion! If you're running a little late for breakfast they are open for longer than other places I've been to so it's very forgiving lol Love this local gem

Super delicious and fresh king cakes, we had the blueberry cream cheese and oh my! It was so good. We'll definitely be going back to try the other flavors. It was well worth the 30 min drive from Madisonville.

I live in Georgia and was in Denham Springs for a family emergency last week, and my sister who lives there had ordered several King Cakes for her work. 2 were for home though~~~I have to say they were the B.E.S.T. King Cakes I've ever had!! The employees were VERY nice also,,,and I will definitely come back here on my next visit!!!!❤❤❤❤

Great King Cake and service!

I remember eating donuts at the Chevron and they were excellent! My daughter lives in Killian La. and I live in Dallas Tx. She said Navarre's has the best King Cakes and to prove that, she sent one to us HERE IN DALLAS and it was THE VERY BEST I've ever had! My husband is from Dallas my 10 year old son was born here and neither have ever had King Cake.....the loved it too! It was also a treat for my other two boys as they were too young to remember King Cakes when we moved her. I highly recommend them.....in fact, I was just telling some of the folks here at my job from Louisiana to order from Navarre's if they want the best King Cake there is! ------Constance!
