Bought a bear cub 305 10 years ago. Absolutely no problems at all. Great furnace for the money.

I read the reviews here and recognize their problems. I purchased a unit 2020 and installed it 2021 I did have some problems, but they answered all my questions and were helpful. I asked them how many units they have sold, and they were not sure but stated around 10,000 unit. Thats a good track record for me and I'm satisfied with their service and the product.

I wouldn't recommend these stoves to someone I hated. I ordered one from a "Dealer" he brought out the wrong color and a damaged stove, after a long argument and winter coming on fast, I accepted it. I realyy wished I hadn't, after a year it was leaking and the pump had already quit me. I called Earth and had to disconnect this stove, which was connected to three dwellings, and haul it to them to be fixed, 6 hrs round trip. Went to pick it up on the day they told me it would be finished and it hadn't been even touched, so another 6 hour trip wasted. We ended up getting a smaller newer used model for all the problems, not what i call a solution.

Most inefficient wood boiler I’ve ever seen! This thing took forever to initially get up to temp and has burned at least 3 wheel barrel loads of wood per day. It’s very poorly insulated and can feel heat escaping all around, especially the door! The recovery time for this boiler is tremendous because there is no heat exchanger tubes inside, just an empty 1/2 cylinder so most of the heat goes right out the chimney. It takes so long and so much wood to recover I set the aquastat to 8 degrees differential because any more than that and it never catches back up. The fan flap sticks all the time so the fire goes out. This thing is a pile! Tried to leave a comment on their Facebook page but the comment was deleted and I’m now blocked from seeing their page

Update after one season of use….. After usually burning 7-8 cord of wood in my crown royal stove, the past winter with this earth stove I’ve burned 25 cord of wood and it was a mild winter in NE PA. Took a piece of the roof off and there is just loose batts of r-11 fiberglass draped over the top. Probably where most of the heat was going on top of being a terrible design. Got the old crown royal fixed up and swapped back and running like new again! Earth stoves are absolute garbage!!!

Never call back. Called 4 times every time the girl said he would call first thing in the morning. Finally called them first thing this morning. Might as well of talked to my cat. Told him the stove was leaking, he said couldn't tell me anything until he knew where the water was coming from. Wants me to find the leak then we can go from there. I asked if they had anyone who works on them and he said not in my area. Like I know what to look for. Bottom line is customer service is nonexistent.

Our stove is cracked and leaking water everywhere! ..... My husband HAD to take our stove 5 states away because this UNETHICAL company said the 25 YEAR warranty had a clause we had to take it to Missouri. After taking it there and sending pictures of the stress crack before he went they “fixed” it in a couple hours and he brought it home. After hooking back up and running it is still leaking the water! My husband called and they want him to drive it from Michigan back to Missouri for a problem in THEIR design and a problem the FAILED to fix when he did drive it down and back at our expense and days of missed work. Now they are saying all kinds of excuses and the owner is in California for something and said it will be a while before he could call my husband. Donny from the company in Missouri just makes excuse after excuse. Lance (part owner?) from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan told my husband PRIOR to us purchasing it that anyone could work on it if there was a problem.... now ONLY their place in Missouri can. Absolutely AWFUL!

Let me start by saying that I almost never leave reviews, especially bad ones, because I want to leave room for the companies to make things right. However, with this company and their product, I cannot hold back anymore. Without a doubt, the customer service at Earth Outdoor Stoves ranks among the worst in history. They would do better to not answer the phone or email than actually reply back to you 2 months after your inquiries and then tell you all the things you haven't done correctly, while not owning up to anything on their behalf. We have dealt with this company on multiple occasions over the last 4 years ranging from what to do with their precious water tests, to them telling us we need a whole house water softener system, to giving us a bad pump and making us go through the installer, to having the plumbers come out 4 times at a cost of over $1,200 to fix things, to now having a crack in our tank. I called them about this issue over 2 months ago multiple times, and today received my call back. They grilled me on how they don't have my annual water tests on file so they weren't sure what they could do. Then, they had me figure out where the leak was and once determined it was from the tank, they told me I would have to send the tank to them. What?!?! SEND THE TANK TO THEM. I proceeded to tell them that would cost over $1,000 to get the fork lift and truck rented to get it and haul it there and back, plus have to undo all my plumbing hook ups and cap off the house plumbing, plus figure out what to do for hot water during the repair. They don't care, they want me to do all of that because their stove is a piece! Just for kicks I asked what the turn around time is, and they told me they could probably have it fixed that day, once they received it. Are you kidding me. We are only about 96 miles a part from their factory. They could easily send a tech down, and if I had to (though I definitely don't feel like we deserve to) pay them per hour that day to fix, then fine. But no, they want us to get this thing sent to them. Stay away from this company. As you can tell from other reviews, their product does not stand up to the competition, but even if it was the best on the market, you never want to have to deal with the company.

In December 2016 we purchased an Earth wood furnace and hvac system from Browns Heating and Cooling in Salem ($10,000 for entire setup). They recommend an Earth, when we were leaning towards a Hardy. BBAD DECISION. From the first day we have had issues with the furnace. Every year we have had different issues with the furnace. We spent several hundred on technical calls in the past 4 years. The icing on the cake has been the past year. Late winter of last year, the stove started leaking. Tech said ‘this one started a little early, normally don’t see the water box cracking until year 7-8’. Boy that was a revelation. Tried contacting Earth directly. No answer or phone call returned. Browns said it was not their problem. We paid a couple hundred for a welder to come weld and patch the stove. Now the door will not shut and have to re adjust the ubolts each time the door is opened. We have spent over 3 hours adjusting the ubolts in the past week. Browns refuses to address the issue unless I pay an service call fee AND a trip fee (sick to death of paying outrageous service calls for a junk product they sold). Lesson here is DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM EARTH, unless you enjoy throwing your money away.

I am only giving one star because zero isn’t an option. I had a weld fail across the bottom of the water jacket. I have called them five times over the past 9 months, each time the warranty guy is out and will not return my call. Terrible product and even worse customer service. Update to say I finally talked to the warranty guy. He assured me there were no welds across the bottom of the water jackets. I sent him a picture and he again refuses to take my calls. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

These are an absolute knock off cheap as they can get materials furnace. I purchased mine 3 winter's ago, and now last winter and this winter the water tank has cracked in 3 different spots. The reason for this is the little, thin, lightweight metal they weld onto the ends. Specifically around the doors, where the outside causes cold metal contraction and the hot water causes internal metal expansion, which causes the lightweight corners to give and retract. Additionally, the lightweight pumps they sell with it weren't even big enough to push water to the upstairs of my house where my interchanger sits. What seems like a good deal when you first purchase, is simply a nightmare in waiting. Wish I would've paid the extra couple thousand and bought another Hardy. Don't waste your money here folks.

Edit update 3/1: this furnace is even worse then I originally realized. That 1/2" guaranteed cylindrical firebox is only in their mind. The front wall of that box, the piece that singlehandedly holds up the door, is only 1/8" thick. Take your money and run folks, this company is built on fraudulent sales tactics.

Buyer BEWARE!!! Appears dealers of Earth Outdoor are NOT vetted! I called Earth to buy a furnace and was referred to a dealer who then collected more than $6,000.00 but when the furnace was delivered it was a cheaper furnace made to look like a 1000.00 more expensive model that I actually ordered. I called the dealer and he quickly removed it from my property and then NEVER came back with the correct model. I am out ALL of my 6,000.00! It is now COLD! The dealer has a non-existent company name listed on Earth's website as a dealer in THREE locations. And the business name said dealer used on the actual invoice given to me isn't owned by him. Earth is only willing to SELL me ANOTHER wood boiler with a "500.00 to 600.00" discount. Disappointed. Frustrated. COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big cracks in the firebox after 3 seasons. Fortunately I know a welder in the family so we can fix it. This was the replacement after the first unit had a bad weld and couldn’t be fixed. I always try to support small American businesses, but I have to say I can’t recommend these guys. Sorry.

By far the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. From flat out lies about their "warranty" to comical dances to manipulate their way out of standing behind their junk product, to just flat out refusal to reply to any form of communication, I have never regretted a product purchase so badly.

Filing complaints on this company. Ordered a stove and still waiting over twice the length of time they stated it would take and still telling me longer to wait. Believe a scam and starting my BBB complaints and getting my attorney and Bank involved.

Less than 7 years on their outdoor boiler and it's been leak after leak. No support from the manufacturer. Please look elsewhere if you are considering a boiler.
