The Sunset Inn

I discovered this place on a road trip in 2016. It’s the best way I know of to stay at a Brunswick County beach without having to reserve a cottage for a full week. Every room has a back porch overlooking the marsh and a storage unit on ground floor for your beach gear. Andrea and the staff provide a great atmosphere and truly affordable prices. We like it in November when the sun comes up & sets over the water. Makes for amazing photos.

The Sunset Inn is always an amazing getaway! Beautiful rooms, great service and spectacular views. We have been staying there for years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!

This is probably our 10th year visiting Sunset Inn. I’m so glad a friend told me about her stay here. We love staying here and all of the staff are so friendly and caring. We are both OCD and the inn is so clean and cared for.

You won’t regret a reservation here. We always feel so rested and relaxed after our stay.

I loved this place! Clean, beautiful room, beautiful view of the marsh, peaceful, comfortable, bed was amazing, towels were luxury, breakfast was good, location was perfect! Everything you need with fridge. Close parking. Walking distance from the beach. Everyone was so helpful and nice! 5 stars! A must stay kinda place. I'd stay again if I were in the area! Thanks!!!!!

This place was amazing, and surpassed my expectations. The room was spotless and the employees were very nice and extremely helpful. The breakfast was perfect to get up and go, and the coffee was fresh and hot. This hotel is not family friendly so be aware before you book your stay. My husband and I really enjoyed how quiet the hotel was and how it felt so cozy being there. We will definitely stay there again.

Such a nice getaway. The rooms were clean and decorated nicely, lovely private porch to watch the sunset. The manager was so helpful and the food was great!

We stayed here two nights after our wedding at Sunset Beach. We absolutely loved our room! It was spotlessly clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were luxurious. I appreciated that the room felt remarkably cool and dry to escape the hot July humidity. We also loved our balcony looking onto the marsh. The furnishings and decor are simple and fresh. We were thrilled with our stay and would love to stay again.

Cynthia and Debbie are amazing! Best customer service ever. This was my 3rd time staying and it just gets better. The rooms, views and location are great. It’s so peaceful, even when the inn is booked solid. Love the breakfast, far better than what I was offered at 2 hotel chains during the pandemic. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.

My in-laws from MI stayed here for a few days and they loved it. The only downfall was they were on the second floor. Two were in their mid 80's with one on oxygen. Accomodations were offered but they managed just fine.
They loved the Inn and it's great location.

Very peaceful place to stay. I loved the room I stayed in. It was very nice to wake up in the morning to watch the sunrise and listen to the sweet sound of nature. It was a short straight walk to the beach; Which is absolutely beautiful. My time at Sunset beach was more than amazing and I will definitely be back.

We have stayed at the Sunset Inn on multiple occasions and have always had a great time.
The perfect bed and breakfast.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, they make sure everything is perfect for your stay.
They have taken steps to insure everything is safe and clean, especially dealing with the current covid situation.
It's very peaceful and quiet.
A short walk to the beach and it's a gorgeous beach.

Just a relaxing lovely place. Very quiet, beautiful views overlooking the inter-coastal waterway- salt marshes, beautiful birds to watch and even a tiny deer walked up by my porch one afternoon when I was sitting out relaxing. Easy walk to the beach. The beach was not at all crowded and as you walk towards the Bird Island nature preserve it’s very peaceful and beautiful. It’s about a 3 miles each way walk to the Kindred Spirit mailbox which I did spend a morning doing. (There is a parking area you can drive to, much closer and shorter walk)

The rooms are beautiful. The bed is comfortable. The screen porch is so nice. The only thing lacking would be a comfy lounge chair on the porch. It was so nice there I’d I could have, I would have slept out there.

The breakfast was as good as could be expected given *covid*. There were hot selections and plenty of fruits, fresh breads, yogurts, granola etc.

There are plenty of nice restaurants within easy distance. Beautiful park just over the bridge. Great area.

I hope to return soon.

This place is absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect. We could see and smell the cleanliness of our room when we walked in. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The view from our room was so beautiful. We love this place so much that we booked our next trip on our 1st day there. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Peaceful, quiet place to relax at the beach. The staff is amazing and always so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is always delicious and fresh. The rooms are all beautiful and very comfortable. I've been staying here at least once a year for the last 9 years and the experience has always been great! This is one of my favorite places to get away when I need a break from work/stress.

Extremely comfortable bed and linens. Attentive and friendly staff. I highly recommend the Sunset Inn to anyone considering staying for a few days at Sunset Beach, NC. There are no other similar accommodations nearby. Five stars for sure.

The staff at the Sunset Inn are absolutely incredible. So accommodating and kind. The check in/out process was very smooth, they have reasonable priced chair/umbrella rentals, and you can't beat the price and the view for the area! 100% will be back!

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Sunset Inn July 4th weekend and we absolutely loved it. The rooms are clean and refreshing, and I love that each one is a different theme. The grab and go breakfast was convenient as well...and it is within walking distance of the beach. The showers on the ground level definitely came in handy on our last day there. Even though we had already checked out we were able to rinse off from being out of the beach before hopping in the car to head home!! We will be returning to the Sunset Inn again very soon!!

We really loved our stay at the Sunset Inn! Great location close to the beach, and just a short drive to restaurants etc.

The room itself was clean and gorgeous. Great view of the tidal flats from the screened porch, and a surprisingly well-appointed breakfast just across the hall.

My fiance and I stayed here and had a wonderful experience. First off, we booked extremely last minute and they only had 1 room available for the 1st night and a different room available for our 2nd night, so we would've had to move rooms halfway through. Not a huge deal, we were willing to do that, however Andrea told us she'd work to see if there was a way to move couples around so we could remain in the same room. Maybe I've just experienced such bad customer service at so many other places in my life so my bar is low, but the offer to try in and of itself was above and beyond for me. Not to mention she actually made it happen! The nature of our trip was stressful in the first place, so Andrea taking care of this seemingly small detail really did take one thing off of our plate that was appreciated and helped us relax. Check in was smooth, easy. A HUGE book of activities, brochures, information, history, etc. on the island. I've been going to Sunset Beach for 25+ years and from Andrea's book found my new favorite restaurant, Inlet View Bar & Grill in Shalotte! The rooms were clean with plenty of towels/linens and had a good supply of bathroom toiletries, even a makeup wipe! Our favorite part was definitely the cute little porch with rocking chairs overlooking the water. They also had a pretty nice continental breakfast each morning with cute beach themed trays to bring it back to your room. Homebaked breads, oatmeals, yogurts, fresh coffee, fruit, and even little breakfast bakes of different varieties each day with eggs, sausage, cheese, etc. It was really a beautiful place to stay and you could tell in all of the small details, effort, and service that they truly care. My family has been vacationing at Sunset Beach since I was a child and this really was a lovely way to remember those times. I would highly recommend this Inn to any couple looking for a quaint, quiet place to stay that really cares!
