Karat Bar and Bistro

My husband had been promising to bring me to Karat for a couple years, and we finally went for my birthday. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service and food… great! I had the duck with puréed sweet potatoes and I was pleasantly surprised. It is definitely a place to check out!

I absolutely love this place! It's a cool, quiet, upscale environment. I've gotten hooked on the lamb chops and brussel sprouts. The first time I had lambchop was from here, so they set a high standard for any other business. Even the French fries were great! When I think of taking someone to a "fancy dining experience", this is my first choice. Oh yeah, and the customer service is top notch!

Decadent brunch dishes from a high class pig in a blanket to steak and eggs, Karat takes the bombastic aesthetic of Texas and adds savory and sweet flavors to craft amazing food. It’s a great place to spend a Saturday morning with family and friends whether it be for a casual encounter or a planned reunion.

Really great restaurant! Nice, upscale atmosphere. Food is excellent, and the entire staff is very friendly. Absolutely loved our lunch here. Desserts are all amazing! Highly recommend you check this place out.

We got in here by the skin of our teeth. The food was amazing. Our server who was the bar manager was a gracious host, full of life and laughter. Which is just what the doctor ordered for me, during a pandemic. So worth the drive from Oklahoma. I didn’t life a finger my whole meal.

I hate that this place is closing. We have only been there a couple of times but the food and service are excellent. I know Wichita Falls has a limit to how many high end places they can support but it is a shame that this one is leaving. It was cool to be in the same building where the Zales corporation got its start nationwide.

Wonderful Saturday brunch! I had the Quiche Lorraine with a yummy side salad and a spicy Bloody Mary. The food was incredible and the location is charming. We even got some cookies and cupcakes to go. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Wichita Falls!

Food and cupcakes are amazing. Service seems to lag. But waiting on the food is worth it. Make a reservation!

We stopped for cupcakes at Ganache and stayed for lunch at Karat. Good food, nice and quaint restaurant. These 2 are connected.

We had the pleasure of dining here while visiting our son and his wife the very first week they moved to Wichita Falls. What a great experience. I love the history of the building and the restaurant's play on the name. 💍The service was top notch and the food and drinks were definitely worth coming back for! All 4 of us ordered different meals and each was superb. We happened to visit on Whiskey Wednesday when doubles are the price of a single. 🥃 The guys enjoyed whisky while the ladies had an assortment of cocktails with names themed after the jewelry store history of the building. Looking forward to our next visit to the town for a second go at this lovely restaurant!

I just went to have dessert with some friends and I got the red velvet cupcake. Definitely delicious! My mom got the strawberry cake and it was so huge and delicious as well. 10/10 recommend.

Oh my goodness, why haven't I been here before? Lovely, absolutely lovely. Wonderful atmosphere. The history of this space has been well balanced with modern touches. The Speakeasy cocktail menu is a temptation. Our dinner was flavorful, elegant and portioned just right. And the service! Best in town and I know all our servers in town work hard! Thank you for a fantastic, relaxing meal.

I was in town for a wedding and found myself looking for brunch on Saturday morning then stumbled upon Karat Bar and Bistro. The location is the historical birthplace for Zales and the building is well maintained. Their event room is next to the old vault and has a really wonderful feel. The food was amazing. I got the Benedict trio and had trouble finishing as there was so much food. The pricing is great and the staff were knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. My waiter was Gavin and he was exceptional. He is a newer member but enjoys the environment. I highly recommend a visit if you make tour way to Wichita Falls historic downtown area. The location is also next to the city farmers market, held each Saturday morning so make sure to swing by there too and support local. A wonderful impromptu outting!

The food was amazing but our waiter was not bad but he wasn't good either. Our food was taking longer than usual, he never advised us of this. A manager I presume, advised us of the issue. The waiter was lack luster at best. Other than this everything else was wonderful.

Always love walking in this place. The vibe and the entire atmosphere. It's almost like being transported to a different place. Food is always on point, and let's get straight to the point. The baker items are what I am here for. Cupcakes, cakes, macaroons, whatever the baker makes.... get some. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Do not tarry. Go here!!!!

Had a great brunch here passing through town. Excellent biscuit and chicken salad club!
