Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport

Okay, hear me out about Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport. It's actually really small. If you're ever been to Tonga, you'll know what I mean. The airport is currently under construction, but the Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport team is very efficient.

One thing I want to note is that ONLY American Airlines fly into this airport. And I just wanted to let you know that American Airlines is notorious for being delayed. If you're planning on coming here for the Army's BCT graduation, I highly, highly suggest you come here two days before the graduation date. A lot of us were delayed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and we thought we weren't going to make it to the graduation despite flying the day before (18 families on my flight with soldiers graduating). So let this be a warning.

Now back to the airport. Once you land, you'll get off of a ramp that is outside and you'll walk into the airport building. You'll go through some bay doors and make it into the baggage pickup carousel area. Just past that is the car rental kiosk desk such as Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

The airport is on the smaller side so going in and out of this airport is easy. There isn't much to do at this airport- they have vending machines and a cafe (for to-go only). TSA was super easy to get in and out. If you have TSA pre-check, they'll give you a card so you can bypass taking off your shoes and coat. If you don't, sorry- you're going to have to take those off.

From my understanding, American Airlines only flies into this airport 2-3 times a day so be sure to remember that American Airlines is notorious for delays or cancellation!

I personally like the ease of this airport. Stars shouldn't be deducted for not having a lot of activities here. It's a small regional airport and honestly, Lawton is lucky to have this airport nearby. I can't imagine flying into OKC or ICT and drive 40 minutes to 1 hour to get here just for graduation especially with delayed/cancelled flights.

Oh, I also wanted to give a shout out to John. He's like a jack of all trades there!

First time we ever been here, the customer service was great, very good with children. Very small airport. Nice restaurant! No issues with check in, it was a pleasant experience.

They really improved this airport. I was pleasantly surprised by the new waiting area and baggage claims. I still don't agree with checking in bags that met the size for $30. When all you have to do is wait before you board and get a FREE red tag.

Super easy experience departing from Lawton. I should have been doing this vs driving to Dallas to catch a plane.

Picked up the wife, her plane was on time, and she got her bags pretty fast. No trouble getting in and out. Everyone was friendly, I talked to. I'm super glad to have a nice airport here close by

To start off, I missed my flight. After reading the reviews I was really worried but I'm happy to say everything went great. James, the young man that assisted me (I think that is his name), was so helpful. I was really stressed out and in the verge of tears but he assured me he would do everything he possibly could to help me. And he did....I'm on stand by for the next flight but he told me not to worry, there are plenty of empty seats. The airport itself is bigger than I expected and very clean. Definitely a plus in helping me remain calm. Airport staff & security were great! There is plenty of parking and a few car rental agency's. I found everyone to be quite pleasant & helpful

Small airport with a good restaurant

For it being so small it wasn't that bad. Friendly staff. Their are currently adding more space. The only restaurant open was pretty dam good. We had the chicken fried rice and some beers before our flight. Great price for the quality and quantity of food. I recommend you grab a beer and some food if you have time to kill. You wont be disappointed!

Its a small airport. Not many amenities, however there is a restaurant that serves many different styles of food (It used to be a place called CGs in town from what I understand). Vending machine cuisine during the off-hours. The waiting area does not have many places to charge a phone. You walk up stairs to board the plane and I didnt see wheelchair accessible options. Parking for 5 days ran me $35 and you can pay inside the airport at a blue terminal in front of the rental car area or pay at the exit gate. Checking bags ran me $30 and bags made it to my destination fine.

Much need airport. Thankful we have it.

For a small airport, staff does everything to the best of their abilities. Incredible bang for such a small airport. Very easy for these places to become lazy, but I was very impressed

Small airport and friendly staff and TSA. Only 2 ports but thet are in the same room so it is really only 1 aera. There was some sort of renovation going on so it looked in disarray. Got to air port at 5 for a 630 flight. It was about 5:45 before TSA ran to get us to waiting room/port but there was room to wait before the TSA check point so not a problem. The only outlet I seen in first waiting area was at a restaurant table and at Port There were some on the wall far and few between. boarding was from a tarmac ramp. Pretty laid back.

Such a nice airport, things are not very pricey for an airport and the staff friendly. My elderly mother was well taken care of.

Only visited here once when an OKC flight was cancelled and we were rebooked out of Lawton. The airport is tiny but security is very thorough and the TSA agents were very kind and patient.

While it is a slightly dated airport, everyone working here exudes the friendly and welcoming attitude of the local area. This airport only offers American Airlines flights. All flights connect to DFW. This airport is a wonderful starting point for your journey to anywhere in the world.

The airport was nice, the staff were very nice and helpful, unfortunately my flight was canceled, due to bad weather, they got me a ticket for the next day, very nice people.

Been using this airport for 5yrs. This airport is a breeze and quite efficient to use. Everyone that works there is quite friendly. All flights are operated by American Eagle and connect through DFW. An excellent place to start or end a journey
