Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church

If you find yourself here reading reviews on churches, then you too are like I was a few years ago.. Taking to the internet to seek out a church you may be able to call home.. With pure intent I wanted to research and get other people’s thoughts on a prospective church to visit. There were a few things I needed at that time- for it to be open on this Wednesday night (Middle of pandemic) and to have a passionate Man of God preacher- One that would preach the Word of God, not one that would just tickles the flock’s ears. When I came across the reviews for SSBC, they were helpful and positive, made it clear, this was a church I should to go visit. I did, on that Wednesday night. It was just what I needed. I knew within 5 minutes I was where I was supposed to be. I have been going ever since. SSBC is my Church and the people are my family in God. Our Preacher Bro. Danny (and his family) leads us, serves and loves us. Danny is passionate about seeking after the heart of God. Amen!

UPDATED REVIEW 06-16-2021:

Music director replaced shortly after my review and Chris does BOTH contemporary songs AND hymns!!! Now the music is the best of ANYWHERE I've ever attended bringing this up from a 4-star to a 5-star experience every time we attend! Truthfully, I've NEVER been to a church as impacting to my family as SSBC, nor have I ever seen so many people giving their life to Jesus in such a small church.

PRIOR REVIEW 10-31-2018:
Pastor Danny and the people are wonderful. Biggest complaint I have is I'm not a big fan of singing ONLY contemporary Praise songs using a projector. I very much prefer mixed music with the praise songs AND hymns, which I never hear at Sunnylane any more - I truly miss them. But the preaching is FANTASTIC, the people VERY friendly and caring, and the songs are theologically sound even if not balanced.

I love this Church. This is my home away from home! We have been members for 7 years and now we live away from here, but make special trips just to visit. I love the new Pastor he is on Fire! I miss it here and am glad to visit when possible.

I was impressed with my visit to SunnyLane Baptist. Pastor Danny has a heart for God's Word and people. I met their student minister and he was great, too. This church really has a love our Del City community.

Friendly people. Been going here for 5 years. People care about you. God is front and center. We have a great staff that will talk to you and pray with you. Before I started going there I was meeting with the pastor. They are there for all people who need to talk. Young people, children, adults. I thank the Lord for leading me to this church

Gregg Mikes is one of the most respectable and honest people i have ever met.
He is also the pastor of this church, he truly has the lords spirit in his heart and i can only say he is what he preaches.
Hands down may he recieve the blessings he sows.

This has been our church home now for almost 2 years! Family oriented church that preaches the Bible! Made some amazing friends here and look forward to coming every Sunday and Wednesday!

I'm not big on going to church these days but this church definitely cares about the kids and the Awana program the pastor there is great and his wife definitely a great experience for any who go they are really passionate about their church and they really have a great Bond and family type Church

Very beautiful church the people in the church are very welcoming to anyone and the pastor is a awesome man of God that feeds the flock he speaks the word of God with authoity

As an out of town visitor, this was a friendly and inviting church. The message was God's word and highlighted practical steps to live by.

I have been at this church since 1981 and consider the people here as my extended family.

This is my home away from home. God's Word is preached and people treat us like family.
