Medicine Park Primitive Campground

My first time at the campground. They have made it super easy to pay the camp fees by scanning a qr code which was awesome! The people are super friendly in this town
The town is so cute, quaint. Reminded me alot of some of the little mountain towns in Cali. Has no become our go to spot!

This is really primitive but really a great spot to camp. You can be right on the water and walking distance into Medicine Park, where there are a ton of great shops and places to eat. The locals are really nice, and the fishing is 👍

Beautiful the whole family loves it. Seen a couple well behaved dogs. There was even a baby buffalo in the picnic area very amazing to witness nature in its own habitat

My family rode in the Mt Bike races here April 7th. The area was a little wet from recent rain. We had a fantastic weekend. The campground is really close to the little town of Medicine Park. We'll be back!

Looks nice we stopped to fish. Would love to come back and camp sometime. Love the whole atmosphere of medicine park. Its a cute little town

Very nice unique campground near the hatchery and creek. There was no running water so please be prepared for that. Caught several fish and trout while camping out here. Good location and very kid friendly.

Unmarked sites with no built-in fire rings, but plenty of places to choose from and campfires are allowed (we founds 4 random cinder blocks for ours). All but 1 of the entrances off the highway are too steep and pretty useless for even a SUV. The interior roads are unmanaged and rough due to erosion but are probably still fine for a car just bumpy. There's a good entrance and close parking lot right outside the trees directly to the north (signs say no camping in parking lot).

Posted sign says to pay at White Buffalo Trading Post but they will point you to the envelope forms and drop box next door in front of Town hall (so bring exact change). Currently $15/night and allowed 2 tents on site.

We stayed here only because the campgrounds in the Wichita Mountains (ie Camp Doris) aren't allowing tent camping (April 2021) because they have closed the bathrooms for COVID reasons (RVs and popups with bathrooms are allowed). We showed up about 3pm and it was pretty filled up, but there were plenty of less desirable spots (ie more slopped or backed up to the highway).

There were two portapotties onsite that I assume hadn't been replaced in a few days and would probably be only reason I would pick camp Doris in the future when they are opened back up.
