Donoho Hotel

My husband booked the Donoho Hotel because it was a different place to stop on our way back to Ontario Canada.
The history behind the hotel was interesting and the fact Ronnie McDowell was there singing for a couple hours was a pleasant surprise .
The hotel is over 100 years old and the room was small but very clean and comfortable .
No TV which was fine with us . The bed was old but comfy and the long porch was nice to sit out on.
What really made our visit really great was to actually sit through a long session of Ronnie McDowell singing with his band and a song by his son Tyler. Ronnie is a great entertainer and the band was really good.
It was such a great afternoon.
The people that are regulars made my husband and myself feel so welcome.
There was no supper that night in the hotel
but we took a drive 15 minutes away and had a great meal in Lafayette .
The breakfast was served family stile and everything was delicious hot and the best cup of coffee to start the day .
Is was old and filled with character and so glad we made the stop over. Was with a five star .

We look forward to returning.

We had a great time staying at the Donoho.
John, the manager, was very pleasant and helped us have an enjoyable visit. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable.
The food was excellent with plenty of choices. The cooks went above what was expected to make sure we enjoyed the meals. The Ronnie McDowell show was the best entertainment we have had.

Loved the Loretta show and the food is always great at the Donoho. They go out of their way to make your visit one to remember!

This place was an amazing surprise. My cousin recommended it and it was more than expected. Friendly staff and country style food and clean rooms.

The Ronnie McDowell Entertainment Center on site. Hotel features Ronnie's art. If you are an Elvis fan you will be thrilled as well.
Its like going back in time to a simpler time. I have never stayed anywhere like it! Its very impressive for being built in 1914. Taken care of with love and a great staff. Seen Ronnie McDowell's show and it was very entertaining.
Modestly priced! Can't wait to visit again. If your timing is right you might get to meet Ronnie himself, he is very warm and friendly.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel, we spent the weekend with Todd and Royce Havens. What a great time. John the owner is a great person now’s how to treat guest. If ever in the area this would be the place to stay. You just feel like you at home!

The Donoho hotel and the Ronnie McDowell Entertainment Center is a real treasure that everyone should visit at least once. The hotel was built a long time ago, 1914, but you can tell a lot of love and work has gone into keeping it up. Nothing fake about, no vinyl siding but real clapboard and paint... The people working there are just as genuine and friendly. I loved my experience there. The food was exceptionally good. Seeing one of Ronnie McDowell's shows or a show with him and another artist make a good night of high quality entertainment. I saw John Conley and T. Graham Brown doing shows there with Ronnie. I am going again soon. It is all something you can do over a weekend or anytime and the cost is very modest. I was surprised.

Went to see the Ronnie McDowell show good clean , fun, music people from 6 to 92 dancing and having a good time. We didn't eat the dinner but it was one served before the show.

A very cozy historic hotel with very comfortable and cozy rooms, small town charm, amazing staff, incredible breakfasts and dinners served family style. Porch in front of rooms has rocking chairs. Great on site entertainment on select nights. One of my best hotel experiences ever.

Had a party of 12 for dinner everyone really enjoyed it. Everything was really good the fried corn was delicious along with the chicken. Hope to eat her again in the near future service was excellent.

Interesting place. I fell in love with the history. Check it out. Old with a lot of character. Inexpensive getaway for a small group or large. Grounds are large enough for the kids to play. This is a great place to spend the weekend with multiple generations. Entertainment on site as well. We look forward to coming back!

This place is absolutely beautiful and a step back in time that was so relaxing for a weekend getaway. The staff was so accommodating and friendly we could not have been happier during our stay. John was great to speak with and will go out of his way to treat you right. The morning breakfast was absolutely fantastic. They have a lot of events coming up that sound like tons of fun! We will definitely come back.

Our first visit to the historic Donoho Hotel ! Beautiful place! It’s still a hotel as well as restaurant. There’s an event venue. Service is family style. Food was delicious! Peach 🍑 cobbler with ice cream for dessert! The menu is what they are cooking. No menu.

There was live entertainment the evening we went. It was lots of fun. We will go back.

The food was delicious. Service great and atmosphere splendid. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Such a treat to eat and visit in an old authentically restored 1900s hotel. The people who served us were so friendly and let us take our time and enjoy ourselves. I highly recommend the Donoho and will be going back soon. You must call for reservations. They cook a family style meal--fresh food in bowls like you ate at grandma's house. Fried chicken, country ham, green beans, creamed corn, potatoes, biscuits, red gravy, sliced homegrown tomatoes, pecan pie. You pass it around your table and fill your plate. Such a delightful surprise off the beaten path and the hotel was beautiful. A gilded age gem. I thought Mark Twain or Edith Wharton might appear at any second.

Amazing experience! The staff at the Hotel and the entertainment center were Awesome!! The meal was great Southern Cooking. Well worth the money. The show Ronnie McDowell and his band put on was Very entertaining!! Would highly recommend.

Wonderful historical hotel,well appointed rooms that are beautifully decorated and spotless.
Delicious home cooked southern meals.
John and Wendy and their staff treated me like family with warm southern hospitality.
So much history in the area to explore,or just sitting in a rocker on the covered porches was so relaxing.
In all my travels I have not met nicer people I have already booked to come back in the fall.

We did not stay there. We came in for their family style Sunday brunch. The have this twice a month and it is awesome. Food is wonderful.

I love this place! The people are so friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. The food is awesome! They have entertainment and special occasion events. This would be a beautiful place for a wedding. My son loves coming here. John is always so friendly! We always have a great experience here.

Love love love!!!! The owner Jon was was wonderful to work with and he went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Food was plentiful and good country cooking. Our room was clean, comfortable and we slept so well. Overall, 5 star all the way for hospitality! We will be back ♡♡♡

A very nice bed and breakfast in this small town. Staff is extremely nice. Always willing to help with whatever you may need. Great place to get away from the city and relax. They serve family style meals that are great. Weekly rates and any other accommodations are easily negotiable with the owner.
