HeliBacon - Helicopter Hog Hunting

WHAT a unique and special way to spend Valentine's Day with my husband! I had been wanting to experience a HeliBacon hunt for quite some time but schedules and nervousness had held me back till the other day! I am still SUPER STOKED that I finally made it. HeliBacon's crew is so kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. They do an outstanding job of making you feel at ease throughout the entire event and express the utmost importance on safety. Even if I hadn't decided to do the hunt, which I’m glad I did, and just observed on the Helicopter flight, that itself was such a smooth and beautiful journey getting to view the scenery and life below. I also must mention that I was taken back by how immaculate everything is from the Helicopter, selection of inventory, and equipment used. The entire operation is par to none. It was such an AMAZING experience, especially for being my first hunt ever and from a helicopter! Total bragging rights for me. My husband and I definitely have this at the top of our experiences/memories together. I'm already thinking about next time. I CANNOT wait to get to do this again!

Staff was very good and friendly, the weapon selection was amazing, and the helicopter was phenomenal. The safety briefing was very informative and crystal clear. Our group had an awesome experience overall. Wish we had seen some more hogs but overall we made memories of a lifetime regardless. Would definitely come back!

First and foremost I have to say WOW! What an awesome experience! Our guide was informative, and very experienced in hog hunting. The night hunt with all the thermal equipment was incredible. The helmet mounted thermal camera was sensitive enough to accurately identify mice, rabbits, deer, etc. Hogs light up bright and are easily identifiable. The thermal scope mounted on the provided AR are the perfect power and easy to pin point a head shot. Since no one in our group ever used this type of thermal equipment, our guide, Jimmy, took the time to instruct us on the proper and safe operation, and kept a close eye on us to ensure we were safe. He is an expert hog hunter and taught our group the proper way to approach, line up and take down multiple hogs before they bugged out and headed in all directions. The suppressed AR meant no ear protection was required so while we were sneaking up to the pack of hogs we could hear Jimmy whisper instructions. The best compliment I can give is that we are going again later this year!

Top notch team on getting you comfortable for the expedition with all aspects covered. Everything was clean, tight and safe. The actual flying and using the "giggle switch" once over hogs was super exciting. I highly recommend them for a true Texas adventure. The night expedition was equally safe and fun. Jimmy is very passionate about planning, safety and a great time!! Kyle at Tonkaway Ranch was the best. Lodging, food and hospitality were fantastic.

This was one great experience. I can honestly say that HeliBacon is a first class operation in all respects. The equipment, the staff, the training are all top notch. We did not see that many hogs, but that is something no one can control. It certainly was not because the crew did not give it their best effort. If you want an experience out of the ordinary, this is for you.

Everything was organized and very safe the entire time. The equipment is top notch and the tubs were high quality. The heli and pilot were probably the best part. This twin engine was powerful and the pilot, who seemed young, was flawless and smooth. At no time did anything feel unsafe. We shot in February. We expected to see more pigs. We saw 8 total and took out 8. That is part of hunting though, you never know how it will go! Great time!

The only disappointment was after the flight. Our group of 6 was ready to buy 2 T-shirts and hats a piece but each was $50.00. Half of us put shirts and hats back. Selling them for half would seem fair. Even selling them at cost would increase apparel sales and get the name out there more and bring in more potential revenue. I recently had the pleasure of going on a helicopter hog hunting adventure with Helibacon, accompanied by my brother. It was an experience of a lifetime! Decided in HeliBacon based solely on their now helo. For me it was 75% of the experience riding around enjoying sighting in wildlife. The iconic “thud thud”. Leaning out on skids looking at shadow of helo. Epic. The calibre of people who show up and spend the money seems to lead to good customers as do play with others.

The crew. Amazing professionals. Client centred, serve everything on a silver platter. For safety reasons, just have to listen! And will have great time. Safety was paramount and they politely and professionally make that clear. We were weather delayed the first time, and rescheduled weeks later; annoying at first but now understand how strict they are safety.

I will be going again.

What an amazing experience from getting to the hanger for the safety meeting to returning at the end of the day. The air and ground crews were very professional and friendly throughout. Out of this world tool selection. You could really tell they were doing everything they could to get us on the pigs and they did not disappoint. Many pigs with some coyotes in there as well. The skill of the pilot was out of this world. The way he controlled the chopper to give is the best chance at being successful, unbelievable. If this is something you want to do, Heli Bacon is the place to call.

HeliBacon is a top notch experience with an excellent team. From the beginning of our interest in hunting with HeliBacon, Chris Britt was accommodating and helpful. They want to make your experience as memorable as possible.
Though we did not see the amount of animals we had hoped to, they did everything possible to get us on good ground. You are hunting wild animals after all, and there is never a guarantee, but the crew is experienced and has several properties to seek out these animals.
Our group decided to do an evening hunt with Jimmy Galindo and also the morning hunt in the helicopter.
First, the evening hunt with Jimmy was a lot of fun. He is a great guide and is very experienced in what he does. He worked his tail off to get us on any animals we could find and kept us all safe and successful. Getting to use the night vision and thermal equipment was an experience we civilians normally do not get to do. The evening hunt is more affordable and something our group will look to do again in the future. I cannot thank Jimmy enough for all of his efforts with our group!
Second, the helicopter tour was nothing short of amazing. Flying around while holding a fully automatic rifle and part of your body outside the aircraft was something we will never forget. The pilot, Chase, is an artist and controls the helicopter to get the hunters in the perfect spot. From the time we arrived at HeliBacon for the helicopter tour, the entire staff was helpful and informative. Safety is paramount for everyone involved and they made sure we all knew what we were supposed to do every moment.
I have spoken to several friends about the experience and I know a couple are looking into booking this experience. For anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime trip, look no further. You will never forget this trip and I will talk about it for many years to come.

What an exciting way to enjoy a helicopter ride!!!!! From take off of the idea to take my son on this adventure for his 21st birthday to bringing it in for a landing with the booking and accommodations, this outfit hit the target! They are all about safety, efficiency, and maintaining the tools of the trade with professionalism. We had no idea of the joy we would experience in participating in a bacon harvest, the experience was life altering. The hunt of a lifetime! For starters, the helicopter and other toys were amazing. But beyond that, everyone who helped us was kind and knew what they were doing. I couldn’t have felt more safe with the amount of time and effort spent to ensure it. Absolutely amazing experience.

What a great way to spend a morning. I was very impressed with how at ease I felt after the Safety brief. The staff and personnel were professional, and answered any and all questions. They were very thorough and covered everything needed in a short time period.

There is no experience to match getting in the Chopper kitted up and having it take off and blast across the countryside at blazing speed in search of hogs. Once we were over the area, we slowed and started hovering just above the treetops. The pilot put us right on the hogs, and the crew chief made sure we all were safe and having a good time. The experience was a one of a kind.

I am hoping to do it again soon, the sooner the better as a matter of fact.

I did not know what to expect. The entire crew was very very professional, clear and thorough with both weapons and flight safety training. Once in the air (on our way to the hunting grounds), I realized I want to move to Texas and do this every day of my life. 10 out of 10 -would recommend.
