Main Street Cafe

This is a hidden gem! We were in town visiting our son that goes to college in Carthage, and wanted to go to dinner at a local restaurant. This one was perfect! We loved the hometown feel. The food was incredible and large portions. It took a while to get our food, but that was fine with us as we wanted the time to chat with our son anyway.

My husband ordered the ribeye, lemon pepper asparagus, a side salad, and hot water cornbread. He was it was very good! We had never heard of hot water cornbread before and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend it. The salad bar is extensive and he loved how many options there were to build his own salad.

I ordered from their keto menu, which is extensive. It was so refreshing to see a restaurant that actually has a full keto menu. I ordered the smothered hamburger steak, loaded cauliflower and parmesean zucchini. It was SO good!!

Our son ordered the chicken fried steak with onion rings and corn. He's an athlete that can put down some food and he couldn't even finish it due to how much was on his plate. He wanted to though because it was so delicious.

All in all, we rate this restaurant a 100 out of a 10. Very very good!!! We will eat here again, when we're in town, for sure!

First & second visit all in one day. Was in town for something & stopped for breakfast. Had 2 egg breakfast with biscuit, bacon & grits & hubby had same but with hashbrowns. Very good. Biscuit tender but didn't fall apart. Everything prepared well. Was in town still so went back for dinner. Chicken fingers & cheeseburger. Onion rings & homemade chips. This place is a winner. Workers are so nice. Nothing fancy but comfortable. They also have a lunch special that looked good.

I am here to tell you, HANDS DOWN THE BEST STEAK AND EGGS BREAKFAST I have had in a very long time. Monstrous sized steak that is cooked to perfection. WOW is all I can say. If you find yourself in Carthage Texas do yourself a favor and get some damn good food.

Kiara, our wonderful waitress, was so thoughtful. My friend and I split a meal and she was kind enough to bring it on 2 separate plates. She was friendly and happy which is always great at any restaurant!

Located right off the road, it was easy to get to the location. It was not busy while we were there. The hamburger steak was very good. Their take on cornbread is a little different but good overall. I would gladly come back to this friendly establishment.

If I could give this place 1000 Stars I would. Absolutely awesome all the way around. My husband and I had to go through town for work and decided to stop here. So glad we did. We ordered the nightly special, beef tips n Gravy over rice for myself; smothered pork chops for hubby. Both were delicious. The Service was exceptional as well. And if that is not enough awesomeness for you, the prices were great as well. The special also came with a drink and two sides plus dessert all for 26.00 total. That is less than we would have spent at McDonald's for the both us. Can not recommend this place enough. Side note: my husband was super happy to see that they served dinner on divided plates - he said it gets 5 stars from him on that alone.

In from out of town and went to the Main Street Cafe for the first time. They were having a tough and busy day. From what I could tell, they were running out of food and had to turn away customers. Lots of stress on the staff. With that being said, the service and food was fantastic. I will definitely be back!

I eat here so many times for years, and I have never been disappointed. The food here is amazing. The people here are incredibly nice. I mostly come to visit on Thursdays for there amazing chicken spaghetti, and on Fridays for fish and frog legs. They do their food schedule thing, between Monday through Friday, and they're all good. Even if you don't want any of their small buffet choice of the day, it's also worth getting something in the menus. I highly recommend getting one of their burgers and burritos. Their breakfast is also worth getting too. I highly recommend getting there breakfast burrito and omelettes. You can't go wrong coming here.

We are from South Arkansas. We visit once a month. Everyone there is so very friendly! Food is great! And, we love the fact that no one wears a mask! Very nice and comfortable environment!!!
Worth the 2 1/2 hour drive!

Fresh homestyle southern comfort food. I had the 'Cafe Favorite' for breakfast, with a poached egg, biscut, and thick-cut bacon. Pancakes were larger than the plate and sweet and salty. Didnt even need to have butter or syrup on them. Will go again for more breakfast and non breakfast items.

Took a chance on this place and so glad we did! Great variety of food, like lunch with your family, everyone talking and laughing. Wonderful service. Best ever frog legs and delicious burger . Will be back!

Food was really good. I normally don't eat chicken fried steak, but it was so tender and seasoned very well. Every thing was homemade. Service was friendly as well. First time but not last.
