We love to learn the history of the town we're staying in when we travel. The Guntersville Museum didn't disappoint! The women that we spoke to were very friendly and it's free to check out. There was so much to see and learn about and even the building itself was just really cool. We spent about an hour and a half here. It was very informative. It looks like they may change the exhibits out often also, so we will definitely go back and see it again.

It was bigger than I expected, quite recommend it since it's free as well. And not busy at all. I liked it!

Great experience with lots of history on Guntersville, native Americans, art exhibit and other rotating exhibits. Even my 10 year old enjoyed it, mostly the rock exhibit.

What a great resource to discover! It captures the history of the area from the original inhabitants, thru the Civil War, up to more recent times. It holds a wide spectrum of exhibits that gives a sensing of the people & the area. Not only does it exhibit priceless artifacts from the area but also houses more contemporary exhibits too. Docents were awesome & provide information you otherwise might miss. We spent nearly 4 hours there & learned so much. Oh, did I mention it was free? This was a wonderful find. If you want to know about the area, don’t miss this.

Superbly curated museum for small, tight knit community. Exhibits cover many various aspects of the historical eras of Guntersville, each treated with respect and integrity.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Very interesting little museum! This quaint little museum is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in history. The kids with us got to do a neat little scavenger hunt while we looked through. This place is enjoyable for the young and old! Our favorite part was the collection of rocks and minerals! We could have spent hours in that section alone.
