We came here for a birthday dinner and had an amazing experience! We had the steak tar tare, croquettes, lamb pasta, carbonara, lemon pasta, and scallop entree. We also tried the chocolate tarte, pound cake, and sea salt dessert. Everything was shared, and everything was delicious! Unfortunately, my husband was not able to attend, but tried some of the desserts the day after and was blown away. The service was outstanding! I see some comments about the strict regulations, and to be honest, these are completely reasonable regulations for the restaurant size and the quality of the product. This restaurant runs the way restaurants are supposed to. Local vendors, no freezer, fresh foraged and farmed products. Outstanding business practices.

I went for my husband’s birthday & the food was delicious!! The dessert was out of this world!! We had the vodka sauce & the veal ragu pasta. Hazelnut chocolate was the dessert. This is a must try for your next dining out.

Semolina has an always changing menu from all local ingredients and everything is fresh and delicious. They are known for their pork chop and it doesn’t disappoint. Make sure to call for a reservation because otherwise you might not get a table.

Now wait. I did not expect to be blown away at this restaurant. My boyfriend took me here for a surprise date night and i think he surely earned some gold stars. Everything was fresh and farm to table and it showed. That with the combination of an amazing chef, kitchen, and staff made our experience all the better. I really wish i remember our waitresses name because she was terrific and deserves the praise.
We shared the burrata, conchigile, agnolotti, and cod. Everything on the menu was so enticing but i was happy with our choices. Everything from beginning to end was so amazing. Even the bread was so good we had to order more. I actually wish we brought more people so we could’ve tried more!
10/10 definitely taking that 40 minute drive and returning.

Update: Returned and took pictures!

My wife and I have been well over 15 times, maybe 30+, at the time of writing this review. The chef, Chuck, catered our engagement party prior to opening Semolina and every experience has been amazing, accommodating, delicious, and most importantly, CONSISTENT! This review is for the fall menu. From sitting, dining, relaxing, through the end of our experience, the staff approach the table with respect, never feel rushed, and professional through and through. I love that Semolina is BYOB and a great chance to bring out special wine/beer/cocktails. We will be back again, and again!

Located on 13 White St. in downtown, Red Bank, New Jersey

Probably one of our most ventured places.
Such a pleasant place to have a date night out. We loved everything about this little eatery, from the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff to the farm-to-table food menu.

Start with the Agnolotti, It's amazing! The Pork Chop might be the best chop ever.

Make a reservation and BYOB. Huge parking lot 100 feet from the restaurant.

This is our go to place for a night out, my go to place any time a friend is in town….we’ve never had a bad meal here. In fact, we’ve never had a meal that wasn’t incredible. Always get the agnolotti, and the pork chop is literally the best I’ve ever had. Trust me, go to Semolina. You’re welcome.

Nice experience here on a Sunday night. Salads and pastas were good and the service was A+. Wish they had some additional vegetarian options. Dessert was fantastic - forgot what it was called but was kind of a berry/granola/yogurt type of parfait. They have this "farm to table concept" but it didn't seem to have any noticeable difference in the food quality, at least to me. Also, the tuna did not taste fresh or high quality enough for a tartare.

Really enjoyed dinner with the wife and family here at Semolina. The house made pasta dishes are all delicious, and the small plates are still sharable as well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and farm-to-table philosphy, and more than happy to offer suggestions. Can't wait to try some of the entrees next time as the pasta was hard to pass up on our first visit.

On a side street off of Broad, Semolina has a good number of tables with less foot traffic nearby. The service was impeccable, suggestions spot on, particularly the pork chop that is a perfect fall dish. A simple, yet telling detail... the bread was amazing, sourced from Brooklyn. We’ll be back.

Last night, I had the pleasure of eating at this eatery. If you have not eaten here, put it on your “bucket list.” The atmosphere is calming, and the food is exceptional. We were a party of four. I ordered a few appetizers for which we shared to experience more of the menu. All were gorgeous in presentation as well as tantilizing to our taste buds. I dined on the infamous pork chop - the best pork chop I have eaten. The scallops were cooked to perfection as were their pasta meals. The brussel sprout Caesar salad is to die for. A dessert of zeppoles will never disappoint. You will want to take an order home to savor the delight. We finished our meal with a Cappuccino that sealed a perfect evening. Truly 5 star dining experience.

This place is a 10/5. These other google reviewers are a bunch of silly Billies. 1/5 stars for food and you never ate there? Are you rummaging through their garbage? 1/5 stars for not allowing you to walk in off the street without a reservation? It’s clearly stated. I don’t allow my 1.5 year old to smoke in bed. What are we without rules in society? A bunch of toddlers smoking in bed, that’s what we are. Semolina is inventive and party for your palate every single time. Go there. Eat anything. Be happy. 10/5 stars.

Wonderful Tues evening dinner at Semolina last night with our son, a Michelin trained chef who also attended the Brookdale Culinary Program before working in Manhattan. He wasn’t the only chef dining there last night either. This location seems to bring out the best & that continues in new & exciting ways under the stewardship of Chefs/Owners Chuck & Tylar Lesbirel who have made this BYOB the best restaurant you’ll want to return to again & again in Red Bank. It wasn’t our first visit but because we cannot get a table for 5-I’ve tried, our family of adults who enjoy fine dining & actually like each other, can’t be accommodated yet. Hope they’ll reconsider at least on weeknights when they’re rarely not fully booked at least. Appreciate all the improvements to the dining room.

The ambience started it all off. Simple, unpretentious and homey. Then add an enthusiastic staff and I was happy even before the first dish arrived. And our waiter knew every dish inside and out as if he had prepared each one himself. Listening to him spend time at a table who where not foodies patiently explain the entire menu in great and passionate detail was outstanding.

And then the food. Layers of flavor over subtle textures and more layers. The Fennel appetizer with orange was an amazing blend of acidic and sweet. And the Burrata with a mushroom puree was stunning in both simplicity yet intense earthy essence.

We then had a intermezzo course of Saffron Linquine with PEI Mussels and Lobster Pasta with an Arriabata sauce. Both were delicious and balanced all the components exactly the way that nature intended. The spicy red sauce, usually presented Fra Diavolo style, was much much more. Spicy but in a way to complement the lobster not overwhelm it. And the exquisitely roasted garlic in the Saffron Linguine brought a subtle touch of heat the the otherwise sweet and savory pasta. And both were cooked to the special toothiness delight.

The entree of Chestnut Agnolotti with Fried Sage and Prosciutto was nothing short of amazing. The balance again excellent where every flavor swirled without any one taking over. My Pork Chop over a jam braised red cabbage and creamy celeriac was an exposition in hearty food with a dynamic back flavor of complexity. Juicy, thick and so tender I almost did not need a knife. Again, a spectacular course.

It was almost a shame to have to move on to dessert.. But wow.. It was difficult to decide if we liked the Caramel Budino with sea salt and cocao soil or the Egg Nog Panna Cotta with Fig jam better. Both disappeared in a blaze of competitive spoon action.

Bottom line. 5 stars. With the constant menu turnover, the farm to table freshness, this is a keeper...

This is a great restaurant, BYOB. The pork chop never disappoints. The brussel sprout salad was amazing. Great scallops also. If you are vegetarian, the options are limited. I would definitely go back.

BEST RESTAURANT IN RED BANK! The food here is OUTSTANDING! I had some of the best homemade pasta dishes I ever had here! The food is worth the drive no matter where you live! It’s a small farm to table restaurant and the owner is the chef. They use high quality ingredients for all their dishes. My favorite dishes I had here is the cavatelli with broccoli butter, hot pepper relish, and toasted garlic, the ricotta angnolotti, and the rotolo with braised beef, béchamel, caramelized onions, and provolone. They also serve you with fresh bread charred. I always request mine lightly charred as I like my bread soft. The waitresses are so nice and friendly and can recommend dishes, but you can’t go wrong no matter what you order! Desserts are very good here too just wish they had more of a selection. I usually like to finish my meal with a piece of cake. Hopefully they can add some new desserts addition too. The best news is that they are open 7 days a week! I highly recommend this fabulous farm to table restaurant in Red Bank!

I've been coming here periodically since they've opened in 2018 and the food has been consistently great. The staff are incredibly friendly and the food comes out piping hot every single time! I can't say I've been at a restaurant that serves food so consistently in terms of quality and temperature despite the menu changing almost every time I go.

I come here to get there pastas every single time. It's just so delicious and fresh. I love the local ingredients they use and their flavor combos range from classic to unique and intriguing. For instance today I had the pork ragu cocoa malfalde and I've never had figs, rosemary, and pork flavor combo before. It was amazing. Pasta is cooked perfectly every time.

Food comes out real quick too. The bread they serve before your meal is carb heaven. Their desserts are awesome as well. Im just never disappointed here.

One of my favorite restaurants in the state. I don't generally go out for Italian because I like to cook it myself and generally wind up unimpressed, but I don't mind making the hour drive here at all. The seasonal menu is always creative and enticing. This place is a gem.

First time at Semolina, ate everything too fast and enjoyed the atmosphere so much that I forgot to snap pictures. Went for a birthday- from start to finish everything fantastic! Peri was very informative to help make the proper decision! The apps we started with was the fall kale salad and the tuna crudo- both super fresh and flavorful. Next we moved on to entrees- I myself had the lobster pasta (forgot the name) which was out of this world good. My boyfriend got the pork chop- may I add he usually never gets and I quote “that was the best pork chop I ever had.”
Desserts and coffee/tea were just the right topper. Another fresh and savory spoon full. For myself- I am very food sensitive to a few things and I didn’t have to worry for a second that there was a problem. Will be telling all our friends and family, also will be back soon!
