Private beach in the middle of nowhere. Awesome place, not crowded, covered all around with preservation of plants and small creatures. There are lots of bugs need to be protected and need to walk a bit like 20 mints from parking area to the beach. The water is covered with weeds and algae at some places but clean during early mornings. Loved swimming in this place always. No fishing and the place is pet friendly. My best place for relaxing summer season.

What a great hidden treasure! If you are seeking a private place to hike, then check out this place. The scenery is stunning, wild and untouched. There are boardwalks which make it an easy hike for families with strollers or those who use wheelchairs. It is wooded with shade and there are benches every few hundred feet or so to stop and rest if you want to relax and take in the peaceful view. I could feel stress melting away here. There are no public bathrooms or water though so come prepared.

Lovely place with pond, woods and beach. Even a little bit of a swamp. Very easy walk but very satisfying for nature lovers. I went a few days ago, May 2023, and saw and/or heard about 25 different birds.

I would recommend coming here in the fall (October). Trails are nice and well maintained board walk. Great views of the pond and a very scenic area. The path leading to lake is still closed off and the ADA ramp leading down to the beach
has not been repaired. Use extreme caution if you trespass into this area.

This was a nice walk & beach was great & also dog friendly. My only complaint was that the one gate was closed so it was a very long hot walk past 2 parking lots before I even got to the path & it was midmorning/early afternoon so by the time I got back to my car the only parking lot available was overflowing with cars & yet the gate was still locked.

This was a gorgeous place. The path was very short (10-minute walk) but worth the fantastic views. I highly recommend passing by if around the area. I went during fall so the foliage was changing creating beautiful gradients.

The main gate is closed during the summer for migratory birds. After labor day, we drove down to the trail parking area and walked the boardwalk to the lake as the DEC recently made repairs. It was a windy fall day but beautiful.

Beautiful. A decent walk from parking to get to the beach, but worth it.

Great location. Unfortunately New York Parks have closed the access to the parking area near the beach which makes it a difficult visit for disabled. It took 10 minutes from the car park to the access area. Please open the gate to allow easier access.

Such a beautiful spot to visit.
Walkway was closed today, but got this gorgeous shot from the edge.

Outstanding beach area and a scenic walk through a unique ecosystem. The parking area at the trailhead is currently closed about a half mile closer to Bolton Road. Horse flies are bad as of writing this, so bring bug spray. Please, pack out your trash.

Nice walk although I was hoping to see more wildlife. After walking down a dirt road for a bit, there's a nice boardwalk to walk on which takes you to the beach of Lake Ontario.

I go there every summer, it’s so beautiful and the ponds are so cool to see. It is a pretty long walk but definitely worth it.

Great Beach to walk and to take your family to especially if you have children. Would be great if EVERYONE took their trash home at the end of the day and not left their mess for others or for the lake to take!

Black Pond has always been a great place to go to have a nice day. Its location, tucked away makes it even more special.
The beach, El Dorado Beach Preserve, is a jewel in its self. A little but of a walk but worth the effort. I've had the pleasure of enjoying the area since the 80's.

Love this spot! No fee to get in. You get to walk a nice trail out to the beach. You can swim as far as you want, even bring a floaty if you'd like! Most people are friendly that you meet there. A lot of people will go there by boat. It's just beautiful! Only downside is that sometimes parking can be difficult on a busy day, and no bathrooms.

It was beautiful and clean. ..Just like I remembered it from years ago. I wish they would open the parking lot closer to the lake but I understand why they don't.
