Greenwood Cafe

Super cute and cozy cafe with friendly wait staff and atmosphere. We had the country fried steak and eggs. Everything was super delicious but the hash browns were cooked differently than we both liked, don't know how to describe it but some, not all of the hash brown ends were kinda chewy? Other than that, coffee, juice and service was perfect! We would recommend for anyone looking for breakfast

Ate here today for the first time in many years. It was delicious. The place is definitely an old diner, could use updating but the food and service was excellent! I had the Beef n Cheddar Melt with Onion Rings and the portion was large and tasted amazing. The others had omelets and they were great as well. Breakfast is served all day which is always a plus. I will definitely come back again.

Time moves a little slower in tomah, as soon as you walk through the door your ushered in with warm welcomes and friendly faces. Dixie our waitress was absolutely fantastic, providing a truly 5 star experience with a motherly touch. Our chili was delicious and full of bold flavor, a very hearty start to our meal. Before we could even blink our meals were in-front of us, Dixie made sure our every need from hot sauce to salt and pepper were taken care of. Portions were very large and prices were great, the best part however? The food! One of the best omelettes I’ve had to date and the toast was thick and fluffy. The hash browns hit the spots in al the right ways. If your ever in tomah it serve you right to take a stop by the Greenwood cafe and let life move a little slower.

The Greenwood Cafe is exactly what you want when you're looking for a down- home country diner on a road trip.

A genuinely old school diner where the locals and regulars gather for breakfast and to read the morning paper. The interior is lined with mounted hunting trophies and wood paneling.

What's more is that the service is great and the food is precisely what you expect, nothing more and nothing less. The country fried steak I ordered was perfect and the prices were reasonable.

This place might be a bit dated, but I wouldn't change a thing. Don't pass by the Greenwood Cafe on your next trip through Tomah, WI.

Very cute little mom and pop place. Service was great and they got the food out rather quickly. The food was great also. I went there for breakfast and had the Belgian Waffle Special. I didn't even need to use the syrup! Altogether was a wonderful experience.

The greenwood cafe is definitely our new place to go for morning breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is very Home like and the workers are so sweet and kind and treat you like family. The food is wonderful as well! The head chef is a great cook! Would highly recommend this place. They are also a family owned business.

We stop here for breakfast every year on our drive up to the BWCA. Staff is always friendly and the food is fantastic! Timeless atmosphere that is getting harder and harder to find in America these days.

Nice little family restaurant in Tomah Wisconsin. Perfect change of pace for a home prepared meal. Much better that the franchised offerings out by the interstate.

Definitely would've missed out on this gem had I not asked a few locals by our hotel where I could find a great breakfast spot. I read the reviews and there were mixed opinions, but I couldn't be happier I ignored the bad ones.
Took the family there while on vacation and from start to finish everything was excellent! Hands down the best county fried steak I've ever had. So good, in fact, I ordered 2! I was full from the first but i couldn't resist. My whole family was beyond satisfied with the service and their meals. Great job Greenwood cafe. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling this direction. (We're from NW Indiana)

The decor is unique, with a lot of taxidermy animals displayed. The food and service are good, and they always make sure your coffee ☕ cup is full.

I just moved to Tomah and have eaten in a few places in town. The morning I walked into Greenwood Cafe was a blessing. Dixie greeted me kindly, the breakfast I ordered was better and almost more than I could eat. The coffee is good and Dixie never lets your cup go dry. Service with a smile and kindness always! If Dixie leaves that Cafe it would be a tragedy. The atmosphere is full of taxidermy and well done! Thanks Dixie, your a gem! And tell the cook he's got my thumbs up! 👍😃

Amazing place for breakfast and lunch! Love coming here, the service and the atmosphere is incredible. The food quality never ceases to amaze me. Great place, great food, and great people. Highly recommend!
