Phil's Restaurant

Just freaking lovely... This all started 2+ years ago during another of our frequent visits (from MD) when a local former fisherman we met post brunch at the Mews (😍) told us Phil's is the place to try next time and it doesn't get much better with honest food and authentic staff.... Thank you, Charlie - we finally heeded your advice today and couldn't be happier we broke our fast here. It was busy and a bit hectic when we arrived around 11AM on a Saturday, but we were sat pretty quickly and placed drink and food orders within 10 ish minutes of getting seated. It's Saturday - we weren't in a rush, the people watching superb, and the eventual waitress charming and very competent. Veggie omelette and the Rhody Wrap we're delicious - so were the SPICY Bloody Marys that came garnished with the freshest little heirloom cherry tomato. Subsequent Irish Coldbrew and Mimosa were just as nice. The kitchen is open and to get to see the team churn through a mountain of orders ( take out was hopping as well while the restaurant was full) while smiling at each other, working in unison, precisely, efficiently and collaboratively was pretty cool. We loved this place. The food, the atmosphere and the service. It delivers like a classic diner, but is so much more. Thank you to all that handled service today 12/30/23 - y'all are rockstars and thank you for making us feel welcome for a little while! We'll be back.

Great place for breakfast! Have been coming here for years and it never disappoints, especially the homefries. The staff is also very helpful and kind. One tip though, if you have a fear of or are allergic to bees, do not sit on the patio, my table was swarmed by three wasps near the end of our meal.

We sat upstairs and had our friendly waitress Kimberly. She was great at recommended breakfast plates and was always around checking on us and refilling our drinks quickly, great server. The food was all amazing, prime rib Benedict, home fries were tasty and they were generous with bacon. Would recommend this place for breakfast for anyone visiting the area.

Walked in and immediately seated for lunch upstairs, big menu, lots to choose from. Food was good, server nice and plenty of parking in the back

Breakfast is a tough shift but these guys do a great job. We had a new server this AM with a few slight hiccups but everything was corrected instantly and the food was excellent. Nicely cooked home fries. Some places they’re either raw or charred but not here, soft and a bit crispy on the outside. Biscuits and gravy are delicious and the steak with eggs was perfectly cooked. Eggs were also cooked properly to over medium as requested, and the pancakes were light and fluffy with a nice texture, not undercooked or mushy. Last favorite touch was excellent iced tea. I’m super picky and this place is a 5/5 easy. Too bad we were just in the neighborhood for a lacrosse tournament.

Had breakfast there. Excellent food. Great service. It was very busy and kind of tight and packed in.

No waiting for a seat. Service was good. The waitresses' are very pleasant. The food was excellent, came out quick and hot. I definitely would go here again.

I've had lunch and breakfast at Phil's a number of times each and it has always been great! Food and service is top notch!

First off, IF.. the food is wonderful and the service stinks = 3 stars
If the food is terrible BUT the service was wonderful =3 stars

Phil's (Amber) earned 5 stars because of the clean, Bright, friendly atmosphere First , and such a warm welcome from Amber (obviously a valued staff member!).
Downhome diner with warm, inviting, clean updated place! The home fries are top shelf in New England . The fresh cooked bacon, perfect over LIGHT eggs (which is an art, btw) We've eaten over 1000 breakfast dinners in this country over the years and I've seen alot!
Then her suggestion of the " Huevos Rancheros "!!?!! Look, I dont eat spicy food but lemme tell ya somethin... fugettabouttit. Awesome.

What a great new spot for us to have breakfast or lunch when in the area! Food and drinks were delicious! I had a cup of clam chowder, pepperoni pizza, and side salad and my husband had a Bloody Mary and Cobb salad with steak. Our waitress Amber was super sweet and patient with me due to my indecisiveness of what to order! Looking forward to coming back and trying out their breakfast and the other great lunch options they have to offer. Thank you for today!

Our first ever visit. Great food! Great service! Comfortable atmosphere. Nice to see all the employees working together and being so kind to each other. We chose to sit at the counter. We watched as the cook handled many orders at the same time -- Eggs, omelettes, homefries, pancakes ... Her "helper" for lack of a better term, grilled sausage, bacon, steak, made the toast, English Muffins and bagels. I think he also did the waffles. Great team work from everyone. We stopped by just because we were in a line waiting to get the oil changed on the car. It turns out it was a great wait! We will go back!

Great lunch outside upstairs, we decided to try it based on Google reviews, impressive BLT and cold beer, we'll be back. Explained our experience to my father, he said he goes there for breakfast when his car is being serviced. He doesn't use Google reviews only word of mouth (older generation) so I figured I'd give 2 reviews at once. It's his go to when he is in that area.

My family had an event upstairs at Phil's (50 people). The service and the food were excellent. Owners Ken and Jaimie made sure we never ran out of food or beverages. Could not have gone any better.

Our group was upstairs for a birthday party. Everything was perfect.

Rooftop breakfast in Wakefield. Not much else to say. But I will. The food was really really good. Wish I'd found this little treasure earlier! Next time there, Phil's will be a stop. Worth the wait!

My husbands' grandparents took us here for breakfast with our daughter this morning. This is a very cute spot for breakfast right in downtown Wakefield. The coffee was delicious and all the food was great too! The waitresses were super busy but also very attentive and kind. They were great with my daughter which is so important to us. The only downside was it got loud a few minutes after we fir there but on a busy Saturday morning that cant be helped, it got better quickly. We will definitely be back :)

Not as good since I stopped working here. But still good times.

Extremely busy and packed on first level but upper level was completely empty. We sat upstairs. Excellent service and sweet waitresses. I ordered breakfast and coffee that was perfect. Homefries are very seasoned and well done. Glad we stopped by.
