The best spot to put in for a Rogue River Rafting day trip. Tons of parking and 2 boat launches. Two public forest service cement out houses. Not much of a swimming spot though.

When you first launch make sure you stay far left as you enter the canyon mouth. The current energy wants to push you into the wall. Be observant and you will notice the undertow rolling against the rock face on your right. Once you pass the mouth, the rest of your ride is a fun walk in the park. SAFETY FIRST FOLKS

Great place to start a rafting trip. Plenty of space for multiple watercraft to put in at the same time, and ample parking spaces.

I really like this park. It's one of my favorite spots along the Rogue River. The area that I like to visit is really secluded and not many people know about it. Even when the main park area is extremely crowded the spot I go to is still completely free of others.

What's not to love about this part of the Rogue River? I'll tell you the answer it is absolutely nothing! At this point of the river it is so beautiful and so surreal just want to paint a picture of it! All in an effort to try to capture the beauty of it

The parks department keeps everything nice and clean. Absolutely lovely place to launch from. Would highly recommend doing it more than once a week!

Went from here to galice resort. If you haven't done this run and you are into river rafting you are totally missing out! This is definitely one of the best stretches the rogue has to offer!

About Merlin
Census-designated place in Oregon

Merlin is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,615. The area is known for sport fishing and whitewater rafting on the Rogue River. Merlin's ZIP code is 97532. A new railroad station in this location in 1883 was called "Jump Off Joe" for a local stream. The station was renamed "Merlin" in October 1886. The name came from a railroad civil engineer who named it for the merlins he saw in the area. source
