Loved it! You can sunbathe on the rocks and just a short walk through the trail you end up at the beach with plenty of space to soak it all up! Will be coming back for sure 👍🏼

Went on a weekday, not busy at all. Nice quick back and forth hike to Scarborough Beach. Able to walk in the area of the tide pools with some light rock scrambles. Great views.

Really amazing hiking spot along the Narragansett coast with broad, well-kept trails. Wandered up here from Scarborough Beach on a busy Saturday, and got some respite from the crowds, as I only saw a few other people and their dogs on the trails themselves. It’s certainly unlike most other hiking spots in the state, as there are barely any trees. Instead, there are three main sections: an inland path, a path along the coast line, and, at low tide, the rocks on the coast isn’t self.

The inland path goes through some tall grass, and walking down it surprised me with the amount of beautiful birds I saw. Many dragonflies as well, and I even saw a small chipmunk or field mouse scurry across the trail. While it is nice, this is definitely the least impressive part of the trail system.

The trail along the coast offers some really amazing views, and there are plenty of cut offs that allow you to get right on the edge of cliffs in some areas, and to climb down onto the rocks at low tide in others. If you’re coming to take pictures, this is the part you’re gonna want to be at.

My favorite part of this place, though, are the rocks right along the coast. There are so many amazing tide pools here that are littered with life. Some of the bigger ones have schools of small fish, but all have tons of shrimp, crabs, snails, mussels, and tons of other creatures I couldn’t identify. The longer you look, the more you see. Unfortunately, some of the smaller pools had some dead fish in them, some of them pretty big. I assume it was from a lack of oxygen/heat, but some of the other ones I saw were filled with a gross looking algae so I’m not sure if pollution is an issue as well. Regardless of that, most of the tide pools were definitely supporting tons of life, and this is easily my favorite part of the trail system and Scarborough Beach.

There’s a small parking lot that I’m sure fills up quickly, but the trails are also easily accessible from the beach. Whether you’re here to hike, snap some photos, relax and listen to the waves, or see some amazing nature, this will be one of your favorite spots in the state.

Only saw one other person. Winter is my favorite season to visit.

Great trail, we couldn't do a whole lot as weather turned bad but whatever we did, was fantastic. The trail has some grass on it confusing you but it is well travelled. There are some openings that take you closer to the ocean, rocky part where you can find most amazing small shells 🐚
Port a potty was in the parking lot, but in bad condition 😔 Parking lot capacity is around ~20 cars.

This place was absolutely amazing and breathtaking. The views are like no other! The trails are clear cut and all trails we followed led to the ocean. The tide pools were beautiful. You can spend hours there and get yourself lost in the beauty that surrounds you. Everything was super clean...carry in and carry out which I am glad to see was respected! Easy walk but be careful on the wet rocks as they are very slippery.

This trail is beautiful. It reminded me of walking the coast line in Nova Scotia. I would recommend wearing good walking shoes because if you get off the trails it's rough walking. Nature at its finest.

This hiking spot offers a number of easy to navigate trails. The main one being right by the water along a slight cliff.

Offers plenty of beach access as well.

It was so beautiful hiking along the rocky beach! There was also an easier trail to get to the ruins but we chose the scenic route along the ocean. The ruins were cool to see too.

Perfect hike to take if you do not want to stay on the beach all day. Trail is very easy & you can also leave the trail to go onto the large rocks to just relax. One of my favorite place in RI to go.

Late September, just after sunrise. One other car in the lot. Furry bunny, seagulls, small white sandpipers (?), sweet scented honeysuckle and wild rose, a sleeping honey bee, hundreds of red and black waking butterflies. Thank you Malcom Grant for preserving this little piece of paradise/habitat for the public and other animals.

Cool place to have a little hike. Or simply jump on the rocks.
Looks like it's also a popular fishing spot.
The parking is rather small

Well kept and wide main trail with great views. High likelihood of encountering trash on your walk. It is often littered. From fishing line, hooks, and fish parts to the typical food packages and booze containers. It is also a place where people think that putting their dog's waste in a plastic bag before leaving it in a bush is the best move.

Wonderful place full of stony formations. Good for a bath, picnic or just sitting quiet. I went on a weekday evening right before July 4 holiday and it wasn't crowded. Popular fishing spot.

Great hike. Started at the black point parking lot walked too the right parallel to the coast until we got to the ruins by the beach then walked along the rocks exploring the tide pools, stone beaches, and boulders. There kids loved it and a great place to swim.

This is an easy and beautiful walk. Well marked parking area and defined path. When you walk along you have singing birds on one side and spectacular rocky coastal views on the other.

Great place to be by the ocean without the crowds on the beach. Plenty of rocks to sit on and relax. Gorgeous view of the Newport bridge. I recommend wearing sneakers vs flip-flops if you plan to venture around as the large rocks are uneven. There is a port-a-potty at the entrance and parking for a dozen cars.

Nice place to get some exercise climbing rocks and enjoying the sun, having a picnic and collecting sea shells
