We have stayed at the Trinity Lake KOA every year since it opened. It is one of the most beautiful areas in California. The campground is clean, kid friendly, and they have lots of activities. This year we are renting three cabins and three campsites and can't wait to fishing, boating, swim in the pool, play bingo, ride bikes, BBQ, and hang with all our family and friends.

This KOA was so fun! The kids loved the bounce pad and the playground and mini golf. The staff was super friendly and accomodating. The OHV area was so fun. The campgrounds are beautiful and the spaces are immaculate. Very nice shower and laundry facilities. We will be staying here again and again in the years to come!

We stayed here for a week in June and had a fabulous time. The cabin was clean (kudos to the great, friendly staff!) the lake and views are amazing, and lots of fun activities to do. We enjoyed riding bicycles, cornhole, campfire, swimming in the pool, 4-square, mini-golf, walking trails and more.
The koa itself is in a gorgeous area with lots of nearby activities. Looking forward to going back.

First time at this campground, my 7yr old and 15mo had a blast here. They have running water close to every campsite. Showers with heated water and flushing toilets.
There was plenty of shade at the campsite and a tree equipped for our hammock.

The lake was a bit low, we don’t have 4WD vehicle so getting to some parts of the lake was a bit difficult for us, but we were able to find a spot to at-least get our feet wet.

There’s a fire pit at each campsite as well.
They have a pool (but it’s still a bit chilly for our kiddos and us to want to get in it) they have a small playground for kids and a small putt-in area for families to play at.
We had great phone service (we have Verizon) and there was wifi available as well.
We stayed at campsite #129 we didn’t have anyone around us and it was nice and quite the weekend we were there. We would totally come here again. Bathrooms were clean, showers were clean as well and the store had plenty of things to purchase to make your stay better.

I recommend this KOA to anyone, whether they like tent camping, staying in a rustic cabin or just parking their RV / camper for some much needed relaxation! First the staff was amazing! They’re friendly, helpful, and always ready to deliver firewood or answer questions about the best way to get to the lake, for example. The location is perfect. I’ve stayed at some campgrounds that are close to a busy highway and I could still hear the noisy city interfering with nature. This KOA is located far enough from a city that you actually feel like you’re taking a break! Weaverville, the nearest town, is close enough if you need anything, but this KOA has a store that’s going to meet most, if not all of your camping needs! The beauty of this area is always overwhelming to me! I’m from Florida and fell in love with Northern California. This KOA is a perfect representation of that beautiful area!

it was a bit of a drive for us, but overall worth it. The water level in the lake is very low, which makes it fun for all of the atvs and motorcycles, and they were all over the park. Other campers also had very loose boundaries when walking through our camp. But the campground was clean, beautiful and staff were very nice. We would return if it wasn't so far.

We really enjoyed this campground, it's a hidden gem! The RV sites were spacious with plenty of room for parking at least 2 vehicles, with significant space between each site so you're not too close to your neighbors. We didn't get cell reception and there's only wifi at and around the office which was fine for us. Trinity Lake is virtually empty, but there are several streams and creeks nearby, with a lot of fishing spots. The lake bed is being used for off roading and our dogs really enjoyed the wide open spaces to run around so there's still a lot to do, even without the lake. The staff was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. The campground has tons of amenities, including a small dog park and mini golf course. They also have gas and propane on site. If you're towing a trailer, don't follow Google maps GPS. Take the 299 all the way into Weaverville and get on the 3 there. Google maps will take you on "shortcuts" that aren't RV friendly. The bathrooms and campground in general were very clean, and the store was well stocked.

It was a great vacation at the Trinity Lake KOA Holiday (7-10 September 2020). There were almost no visitors at this time.
We lived in two tents in Forest Loop 2 #158.
Available for use (within walking distance (2 minutes)):
- restroom,
- shower
- dishwashing station
- laundry
There was a drinking water tap next to our tent.
At the entrance you can find many additional free entertainment for every taste (see attached photos). There was a small shop at the reception (you can buy firewood, fishing rods and other useful things for camping).
Unfortunately at this time it was the end of the season and we were not able to rent kayaking.
I recommend going to the lake, just put on high shoes and pants (a lot of dry and tall grass).
I would like to mention that the staff have always been friendly and helpful.
P.s. Pet friendly
Thank you very much, we will come again soon!

One of our favorite campgrounds! As it is a KOA, you won't be roughing it much. The cabins are well stocked and very clean. All the sites seem to be very accessible and well maintained. Prices at the on site general store are high, but not ridiculous for a campground. There are many options for families - the pool, playgrounds, and equipment rentals at the camp can keep you busy for days. The setting is quiet, with lots of nature trees, but it is just off the highway. It's a quick jaunt into Trinity Center or Coffee Creek for additional supplies. This campground is about 45 minutes out of Weaverville and sits right on Trinity Lake. The staff is all very friendly and caring and are quick to help and answer questions. This is the third time that we have stayed at this campground, and I would highly recommend it. It is definitely more fun on years when the lake is more full, but even when water levels are low, there is plenty to do!
If you stop be sure to get an old fashioned milkshake from the Mini-Kat; you won't regret it!

Our first stay at Trinity Lake KOA was awesome! We loved being so close to the lake. Our first grader enjoyed the variety of activities offered. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The campground was pretty quiet at night too. We look forward to our next visit in our Class B Sprinter camper van. :) (FYI: There is no access to AT&T network in the area)

This is a great place to come with family. They have a lot to do and it is very clean. We were there for the Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, when we showed up the smoke from all the fires all over California had shifted to Lake Trinity. My son has very bad allergies and was having trouble breathing so we had to cut our trip short. We went to the front desk to explain and they were so kind and helpful and even refunded the days we were not going to be there for. The staff here is more kind then any other place we have camped at. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be coming back for sure!

We had a great time in June 18-20, 2021. The staff was polite and area kept. The pool is cold, but refreshing in the heat. The campsites are huge and there is plenty of wood to gather. The mini snack bar nextdoor, on the grounds is open now, too. Trinity Lake however has been depleted drastically due to the drought..sad.

Nice spacious campground with everything you need for camping. They have clean restrooms and showers (for free). Camping sites are well maintained, I liked the grill spot, it is very comfortable.
There is a playground for kids and small cafe to get coffee and breakfast by the entrance.
And don't miss sunset on lake, it's amazing, very beautiful!
Price is $37 per tent site per night.

Huge campground with friendly staff and many amenities! Our site was big, though some trees could be felled to make sure slides and awnings are accommodated and some sites need to be leveled. One of my favorite things...the awesome playground was awesomely placed well away from campsites making it much more peaceful for those of us camping without kids. It's a beautiful location but beware. The store is not very well stocked, especially with refrigerated items and the nearest large grocery or hardware store is about 30 miles away. There is a small grocery close by. We will be going back.

We travel 12 hours every year and meet up with another family for an all out relaxing, fun filled vacation. Our children enjoy 2 parks, mini golf, shuffle board, basketball courts, a pool, and plenty of room for bike rides. The tent sites are very large, and the RV sites range in size. We have rented patio (pontoon) boats for the past two years. This activity has truly enriched our stay with TC KOA. The staff rotates out every year and have always been friendly. They are only human and if I sense a little stress from one of the staff, I just try to be a little extra friendly and they will come around very quickly. What is put out there is the response received. There is always an activity every day/night. My girlfriend and I have made it a tradition to take advantage of the BINGO nights. It is our night to get dressed up, though not everyone does, it is just fun. We come from the north and unfortunately must take the long route driving all the way down to Redding, then heading up on HWY 299/3. If you are only tent camping, have a light load, or electric brakes it shouldn't be a problem, but it is very steep and brakes tend to overheat. When we leave the campground we are able to go North and cut about 4 hours off our trip.

We had a great time here not much for a lake here at the moment they do have a pool and if you could drive your Truck or ATV water is not that far away to play in… The staff were nice and the campground was clean… love that you can have dogs and ATVs
I’ll definitely be coming back here.

Very friendly staff members, great communicators, nice sites in the trees. They were really helpful in picking out future dates and sites. We can't wait to come back in August. We enjoyed eating st the hamburger stand which had good food and friendly staff as well.

We loved our trip to Trinity Lakes Campground! We staying in 1 of the cabins and it was surprising clean and modern. This was probably best family trip ever, lots of activities for the kids and adults, and the pool was great for the hot afternoons. Add simply beautiful and you have the perfect recipe...

Typical KOA with plenty of activities, large-ish RV spots (depending on your particular space) and close-by bathroom and shower facilities. Nearby friends in the tent area had an issue with loud mouths but we never heard a thing.

4th of July weekend had some power issues with not enough power for the single AC in our unit (blown circuit breaker) but all was fine when the weekenders left.

Lake is fairly far away due to the lake level but it's an easy 5 minute drive.
