Total off the grid campground, but there is water( it wasn't available as of 4/20/18, the host said it will be on next month). But it had a clean bathroom with flush toilet. Fishing was best in the early morning.

Had site 43 on north end loop. We are a big rig and this was an easy back in. View overlooking river with steep trail down to water. The river has lots of vegetation along it, so not much beach. Enjoyed wildlife viewing and the flush toilets were a plus.

Absolutely love this campground. It's usually very quiet with little to no other campers. Beautiful Lewiston lake is just a few yards away so u can cast your fishing pole and relax or float down the current on a raft or kayak. Host never bothers you also.

We stayed one week in late September / early October 2016. There are about 50 sites, and only perhaps 5 were occupied. We could not see our neighbors in either direction.
The layout follows the edge of Lewiston Lake. The sites are large. Easy access to the shoreline for fishing.
We went for the dark skies. Great star gazing with very little influence from nearby towns or Redding to the East. We spoke to the camphost, "Lana". She was very nice. If you want a quiet get-away, this is a good place for that.
The county road runs right by the campsites, so don't be surprised that you are not isolated from traffic.

If you're going to walk down to the water's edge, watch for rocks ready to roll out from under your feet. One second I was heading back up the hill with my feet definitely planted on the ground, the next second I was looking between my feet at a blue sky and trying to get my wind back.

Had a wonderful, covid safe, winter campfire with friends at Ackerman Campground this afternoon. Yum, hotdogs on a stick over the campfire, like we were kids again.
