Benny's Clam Shack Narragansett

Wow! Benny’s blew our expectations out of the water! We used to live in Rhode Island but moved away and we were back in the area visiting. In the mood for clam shack type food and without the patience for the line at Monahan’s, my husband and I had dinner at Benny’s. We got the snail salad, fish tacos, and clam chowder and everything was excellent. Snail salad was super fresh and chowder was superb (dill was a nice touch!). The fish tacos were next level! After my husband’s first taco, we ordered a second order of fish tacos to go. I wish we would have gotten a side of the slaw, it made the tacos. We will be back the next time we are in the area! Skip the line, go to Benny’s. It’s not to be missed!

There weren’t many people there. It didn’t take more than 20 minute to get 2 bowls of chowder and dozen clam cakes. The staff was friendly and polite, when the order was done they came and brought it out to us. The food was great. Definitely worth the money and we will definitely be back for more.

Are you even a Rhode Islander if you don't stop for clam cakes after a beach day? Quick and yummy!

This was our second year in a row going to Benny's Clam Shack. The food was excellent, we ordered I think about 4/5 items definitely the full belly clams. The service was fast and friendly. Benny remembered us from the previous year. The cost was about what you'd expect to pay for what was ordered but the serving was big. All in all we will definitely be going back next year and we went back again before we left! Sorry no photos

Ordered a fish and chips but substituted for onion rings....food smelled so good I had to dig in and I was not disappointed GREAT EATS😍

It'd be easy to drive right by this place on the way to Wheeler Beach, so we stopped on the way home. It was the perfect way to end the day. Everyone went home full, and we fed the family way better food for way less than the concession stands.

A Saugy Dog and a Captain's Daughter is exactly what the day called for, and Benny's delivered.

Order the chicken tenders with French fries first time coming the food was great the service was nice staff was pleasant very kind will definitely come back !

The man running it was very polite. The clam cakes were probably the best i’ve ever had. The only downside was it took a while. Def recommend.

We ordered whole belly clams, Philly cheese sub, two cheese burgers, scallops plate and, garlic parm fries. Everything was great! The Burgers were fresh not frozen, the two fried plates of whole belly clams & Scallops were huge and, the Philly cheese steak was real steak as well! The service was great! He was friendly and professional. We ate outside and, they brought our food out to us

Went here when every other seafood place had a ridiculously long line and packed parking lots. My husband got the chowder and fish sandwich and I got the shrimp tacos. Great food, comparable costs (on par with food prices now days) and fast service. I would highly recommend this place for delicious food without the long wait times.

First, to be fair if a person has not paid attention to costs in the store this year, you WOULD complain about the prices. Do NOT try to be a fair critic if you are not goin to do the work and find out before you spout out. My first time there was today. Man was a little tough but then he may have been short handed like everyone else. I can get over that. The fish sandwich and fries? One of the best I have had. Crisp coating, moist inside, hot, flavorful. The additions of tomato, lettuce and tartar was great. Fries crispy on the outside, moist and hot inside. Try get that at your fast food. Some complained about the amount of coleslaw you get. If you have been to most places that is about what you get...it is almost served to enhance not to gorge on. Please, people, be honest and stop trying to be a real critic. You are not and you hurt the business when you whine about entitlement how you should have gotten this or that. Good job Benny's. I will be back with my wife.

Great food and service. Staff was very welcoming as well! Clam chowder was great, had to get the big tub! Chowder recipe was the 1996 Chowder recipe winner. Boom boom fries was delicious, jalapeños brought a good spicy and sweetness.

Delicious fried seafood, doesn’t leave you feeling “heavy” like many other places. The owner really cares about the food. I’ve eaten at the rest of the Narragansett places and now only go to Benny’s. Clam strips, whole bellies, fish and chips, NE Chowder and lobster roll are all winners for my friends, family and for me!!!

Benny's is our new Clam Shack believe me we have been going to the same shack in Narragansett for the last 30 years man you have got to try Benny's the chef is outstanding 👌 he also brought our food out to us...

Decided to give Benny's clam shack another chance after our rough outing last summer and we were pleased with the results. 2 orders of fish-and-chips, one order of clam cakes and a bowl of chowder all were excellent. Food was hot, well prepared and the guy working in the store was friendly, helpful and did a great job. Well done

Initially, wanted to go at Champlins restaurant and saw it was packed with long line to make your order. Decided to check out another place and came across Benny's Clam Shack. First time visiting this place. My husband and I loved the Fisherman's Platter. Seafood were very fresh and definitely satisfying for our craving. Will definitely try to come back.

Amazing fish and chips with delicious seasoned fries and I think fresh tarter sauce that gave us a sweet pre- summer feel.
Loved decor of sharable, wood tables, the counter, open hutch cabinets style service down to cute colored coffee cups, while we took ours to beach parking near by. Bummer is my boyfriend just told me he gave a $50 and got no change for the 2 reg. size meals. 😳 Tough biz I guess. Enjoy!
