Shaw Creek CDOT Rest Area

Nice, clean and well kept space to stop.

Also, dont be this guy. Some Cruise America renter came in and took his half out of the center of the spaces by the sidewalk to the restrooms.
Dont be this kind of visitor.

This is one of the nicest realist areas I have ever been to. The amount of time that goes into this place is evident in the gardens, landscaping and interior. There are plants hanging i the windows of the rest area, the view of the mountains is amazing, there is a little guest book to sign and see who has been traveling through and from where. Very clean!

What a pleasant surprise. There are not many rest stops between Denver and Durango so it was good to come across this one. Well maintained with lots of amenities. The interstates should have rest areas as nice as this one.

Its winter wonderland during the cold season. They have limited vehicle parking, with a Max of 12 hours, not sure you would want to stay past that limit. I stayed for 7, a very quiet place for a nap. Dogs are not allowed near the facilities and they have security stationed nearby. Very safe place

Very opportunely placed. I honestly didn’t even know Colorado had any decent rest areas off I-70. lol It was a time warp but clean and very well kept outside as well.

If you are a fan of National Lampoons Family Vacation this is a must stop. See the picnic table the Griswold family sat to eat a urine soaked lunch while Clark gazed wantingly to his Ferrari driving eye candy. Oh and the bathrooms are great and clean. While we were there a nice CDOT worker talked about the movie filming and pointed some things out to us which really completed the experience.

Clean and beautiful. Truck/ trailer and car parking. Picnic tables and shelters for day use. 12 hour parking maximum.

If there was a contest for best rest area this place would win! I can't count how many times we have stopped here over the years. It's always clean and well taken care of. Someone puts lots of pride into their job. Thank you!

Located East of South Fork, CO on US HWY 160 you'll find this clean well maintained rest stop. You're aloud to stay 12 hour but no overnight camping.

I understand these CO. towns not wanting trucks in their town I really do. So it's great to find on Oasis like this. Very clean, great cell coverage ,nice walking trails, vending machines, and a sign-in book. Secure places like this make it easy for us to continue to deliver cross country. Thank you

Nice little stop. Absolutely had a clean bathroom on the womens side and a little plant in the bathroom sunning itself well. Parked on the semi side between a semi and a motorhome, the other side for cars was well lit, but too isolated to rest for 6 hours. No parking lo get than 12 hours. Friendly little cat in the am trolling around and nice little bench and table areas to eat. It was a but windy, but not bad.

The perfect pit stop before and after crossing Wolf Creek Pass! Always clean and open!

Clean, quiet, and had great views and open space. There is a 12 hour limit to park here, which in my book is plenty of rest. We were driving through the night so this was a sight for sore eyes

Nice rest stop. Pleasant enough. Bathrooms are clean.

Nice rest area with easy east-west access. Good facility. Snooze for a while if you like--although there is a time restriction posted on signs. RVs use the truck parking.

It is always so pleasant to stop at Shaw Creek Rest Area. Always spotless, restrooms are actually warm in the winter, not to mention warm water to wash your hands. Even a live plant hanging in the ladies' room! Thank you for whoever takes pride in their work and keeps that rest stop up so well!

Had a really wonderful time at this rest stop. It had been on my to-see list for quite some time. Very scenic. Sitting at the Griswold's table was the frosting on the cake.

What’s there to say about this beautiful spot? It’s clean and well maintained which is ideal because that’s the last thing I wanna worry about when I pull in After burning both ends of the candle. If your needing a break from the open road the I urge you to pull off here and get some shut eye before endangering other motorists.

This is the best rest stop I’ve been to in my life! Clean bathrooms, plants in the bathroom, spring/Easter decor, vintage wallpaper, and more. I can’t wait to visit again when I pass by.
