Nice place to pull off the road on a motorcycle ride, launch or pull out your boat or raft, come here to chill and play in the water, or just enjoy the view.There are outhouse style restrooms and easy access to a calm fairly shallow point on the river. I did not go into the restrooms so I can't comment on the condition but I'm sure they are pretty standard to these places.

Beautiful little spot to take the kids across the river from the boat ramp. Great place for find agates, quartz and other cool rocks. Its a nice little fishing spot as well.

Beautiful spot. Be careful this time of year, snakes are out basking on rocks. We saw a huge dead Beaver floating in the water.

Nice place. Easy in and out. Really clean and natural. Please keep it that way and don't forget to pay for the parking. It pays for the maintenance and everyone's enjoyment.

Always have gone here since a kid always will go back till the day I cant. Always see the jet boats at the right times calm water to swim in fish swimming up also be ready

Great views. Restrooms available. Great place to stop. A good spot to launch a boat or haul one out.

This is a nice place to visit for a walk on the river edge. We saw people fishing there also, so I take it that it's a good place to fish.

About Merlin
Census-designated place in Oregon

Merlin is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,615. The area is known for sport fishing and whitewater rafting on the Rogue River. Merlin's ZIP code is 97532. A new railroad station in this location in 1883 was called "Jump Off Joe" for a local stream. The station was renamed "Merlin" in October 1886. The name came from a railroad civil engineer who named it for the merlins he saw in the area. source
