My three sisters, my mom and I all went for a week for my 40th birthday last year. The food was excellent, the horseback riding thrilling, and it was just a down-home family-run business. A beautiful creek runs along the side of the road with trout fishing and we also did some gold panning in it. The cabins were very nice as well, and well-kept. Also there was a pool which we didn't go in and a hot tub which we did. It was a lovely time. I'll definitely do it again!

Totally wonderful! Great food, hospitality and ambience. Cabins are rustic and cozy. The vibe of the place is exceptional and friendly. The food is wonderful. Ruth, the owner, is full of stories and advice - and is a gem. Bill is very knowledgeable and helpful. Duffy, the wrangler, is exceptional and very helpful. All the other staff, Ben, Alisha, Brian and others are terrific at anticipating and meeting guest needs. We will make it an annual trip for us. In fact, I liked it so much that I forgot to leave and stayed an extra unplanned day! I'm already missing the place.

Our family came here in the late '80's for a weeks getaway when I was about 10 yrs old. We all loved it, looks like nothing has changed much with the glowing reviews. I always reminisce about the horseback riding and the overnight stay we did with the horses. Everyone felt like extended family while visiting. It was a great retreat with friendly staff.

The perfect get away for our small family reunion. The two year old had a great time as did the 80 somethings. This guest ranch has it all: terrific trail riding with an experienced wrangler and good horses, riding lessons, a pool, a pool table, horseshoes, gold panning, archery, hiking and more. Located next to the Trinity Wilderness, the location is gorgeous. Comfortable cabins, terrific home cooked food, a warm a d helpful staff, and lack of cell phone service all added to the charm and allowed us to really escape.

Coffee Creek Ranch is the ultimate GET away and HIDE away! My wife and I arrived to find out we had the ranch all to ourselves. We were greeted by Danielle and were welcomed wholeheartedly. She showed us around the ranch, while briefly describing the history and other items of interest. We had dinner that night, which was wonderful. The next day we had breakfast and headed out on our horseback ride up the Boulder Creek Trail. The solitude and scenery were amazing! Ate lunch, then hung out at Coffee Creek just enjoying the sounds of nature. Dinner again was delicious, and the company was just as comforting. Ruth and her son, Bill, provided some amazing insight to the history of the ranch. We thoroughly enjoyed the conversation.

The cabins were clean and cozy. It was still cool enough to have a fire each night. The trip went to fast to really enjoy what this Ranch and area provides. I would like to think, that whether the ranch is hosting two people or 50 people the service, courtesy and accommodations are exactly the same! A place to reflect and recharge on what is important in life!

Will definitely try to come back with our kids. Well done Coffee Creek Ranch!

The hospitality is fantastic!. Nice horses and fun rides with beautiful scenery. Three great meals per day- cooked to order. Cozy cabins nestled in the pine trees. If you are hooked on media (ie tv, computers, etc) this might not be the right place for you. I would definitely go back.

Our German family of 4 (kids ages 9 and 4) visited Coffee Creek Ranch last week and loved it! There were fun activities for the entire family every day in beautiful outdoor settings. We rode horses (our youngest was on a pony), fished, swam, and made s'mores by the campfire. The food tasted amazing, and we can't wait to go back!

This is a beautiful, serene, rustic guest ranch run by the owners who are down-to-earth, genuine and caring. If you want fancy "dude ranch resort" luxury this is probably not for you, but if you want heart-lifting, unforgettable horse rides through the breath-taking Trinity Alps, scrupmtious and plentiful home-made meals (Ruth the owner and chef is writing her own Coffee Creek cookbook, and even plans your meals around dietary restrictions), a friendly staff who caters to your specific needs as best they possibly can, and a cozy woodsy cabin to escape the madness of big city life, check this gem out.
The horses were well cared for and turned out to pasture in the evenings to graze and munch on hay. They have horses for various levels of riding ability, and along with the quiet walking rides we also did some loping and hand galloping along the scenic fireroads. Can't wait to go back!

I have both worked as a wrangler/horse trainer at Coffee Creek Ranch, as well as been a guest. Coffee Creek Ranch is one of the only authentic cowboy experiences I have been able to enjoy anywhere on the west coast.

The lodgings are adorable, the food delicious, the staff and owners helpful and fun, and the environment is breathtaking. Their horses are all healthy and great on trail and anyone lucky enough to get to stay here will have a WONDERFUL time!! I can't wait to go back again in May :)

Gorgeous mountain resort right on Coffee Creek. Good road. Comfortable accommodations. Good food. 40 horses. Lovely swimming stream for trout fishing (catch them, they will cook them or package them for you. Friendly people,l helpful hosts. Enjoyed the ethnic variety of guests. Would definitely recomment this for everyone who enjoys mountain serenity.

We loved our vacation at Coffee Creek Ranch!! Our neighbor recommended them when I told him I was looking for a dude ranch for our little family. I considered Montana, Colorado and Wyoming. I was so glad that this ranch was in my home state. I was not disappointed. My kids learned to fish, fire a bow, shoot and ride horses- every day we were there!! Our all lady wrangler crew were tough as nails and ALWAYS had our back! They took care of our kids and always made us feel safe. At the slightest bit of concerns the lady’s took over and “ponied” is in. I was among family. Now let’s be clear; anyone who is looking for the 4 Seasons in the middle of Trinity County is fooling themselves. The accommodations were more than comfortable. We awoke to a rushing creek and amazing meals- daily!! The adults night ended with happy hour, laughter and stories that developed a whole new row of abs! I can’t thank Ruth, William, Alyssa, Trinity, Duffy, Kelsey, Ming and Daniel enough! We met as guests and left as amigos. Gracias por todo!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our early fall stay at this place. Great stay, food and ranch experience. Our kid did not want to come back. A great get away from urban living. The hosts are wonderful and accommodated all our requests. Will go back.

So it’s not a fancy place, but it’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve stayed here a number of times on my way backpacking and always wish I had more time to spend at Coffee Creek Ranch. And the food it also excellent btw.

I'm biased, my daughter works here as a wrangler. Place is pretty awesome, location, service and attention to customers are Coffee Creek Ranch's strongest attributes.
