ROW Adventures

We had a fantastic time rafting on the Middle Fork of the Salmon with ROW! The river and landscape were incredibly beautiful, the whitewater exciting and the food was excellent. Our wonderful and dedicated guides (Alec, Kim, Jake, Garin, Bridget, Connor and Mike) worked hard to make the trip a peak experience for our group and took great care of us. Besides expertly guiding us through the rapids, they're also great cooks and entertained us with unique games and live music (Alec's mother should be very proud of him)

We did a 6 day trip down the Middle Fork in late July this year. Amazing experience. Truly a special place that too few people ever get to see. The scenery, history and wildlife are truly unique. And the team at ROW made it a very fun experience for two people from the Northeast that are anything but camping peeps. The professionalism, knowledge and effort of the guides was amazing and much appreciated. Jake, Garin, Kim, Tagin, Brian, Malcom and Henry you guys were just rock stars all week. Thank you for everything!

My family has been doing the Lower Salmon every 10 years since 1977. We done self-supported as well as commercially run trips. Row was the best! The guides kept us engaged and always had good stories to tell. And Row and the crew treated our special needs very well: we had some mobility issues with some folks and others brought their own watercraft; Row took it all in stride. They made sure the trip was both great fun and safe.

It was the most amazing family vacation! My family went on the Family Magic Trip in August. It's mid-September and my kids were just talking about Lily the River Jester today. I think the fact that my children are talking about it a month later, proves it was a memorable vacation. I know I will treasure this trip and plan to go on more with ROW. They were professional and amazing river guides. Everything was taken care of for you. The only work was packing your bags. They set up the tents, make wonderful food that was better than restaurant-it was amazing the skill they have, had games for the kids, discussed the history and river, and laughed with us. I became part of the swim team and I had faith and confidence that the safety boat could assist if needed. They truly care to make it the most memorable vacation you would ever want to go on!

ROW Adventures is superb! The guides went above and beyond to ensure we had a safe, happy, and informed experience, even engaging my ten year old in a grumpy moment to make sure he felt welcome in the group. The guides were experienced and communicative on and off the river, talking us through the plans for bigger or more technical rapids, and sharing cultural stories of early inhabitants and pioneers associated with the river. The food was impressive, with fresh fruits and vegetables at every meal and amazing desserts. We were well-prepared, having followed ROW’s packing list, although Idaho is much drier than I had expected and I should have taken their advice to bring moisturizing lotion. We enjoyed every minute of our trip, a unique and breathtakingly gorgeous experience, and highly recommend ROW Adventures.

Words can't do justice to the amazing experience we had with ROW adventures. Our 6 day trip down the Salmon River Middle Fork was the vacation of a lifetime. There is no doubt the guides with Row Adventures made it exceptional! They truly love what they do and were eager to share this amazing River with us. All 7 guides, Kim, Kirk, Anna, Kara, Malcolm, Garren and Brian made us feel like we family and helped create a joyful camping/ rafting/outdoor experience.
Each guide was excellent and knew the river well, keeping us safe at all times. Their enthusiasm showed thru as they always had a smile on their face and energy to spare. I still cant believe all of the work they did- up before dawn to make sure our coffee was ready before we woke, great conversation while going down the river and having our camp set up at the end of the day. The food was fantastic, far beyond what we could have expected so far away from civilization. Even our vegan daughter had delicious, creative meals!
What really made these 7 stand out was their social involvement with all of the families on the trip. Each guide unique, enthusiastic and fun! (Always professional) Malcolm creatively dressed for every occasion- Bocce or Guerilla Croquet. He got the kids involved in games on day 1 helping the different families bond right away. Malcolm even waded out into the river to bring my fly-fishing son, husband and brother dessert!! Service above and beyond!! Kara, an old soul who told stories, sang and played guitar and gave us word games and puzzles-keeping us entertained on the leisurely parts of the river. Kim and Brian were engaging storytellers and expert in river history. Kurt always up for taking the wettest line of the rapids while the kids screamed with glee! Anna, the protector of all, observing the dynamics between campers and making everyone feel included. Garren-sweet, engaging, energetic-hard to believe his youth, but an expert river guide and felt like a family member by the end.
I don't know how ROW finds these amazing individuals but it was because of them that our 3 children felt it was one of the best trips we have ever done!

We just finished our 2nd Middle Fork of the Salmon River trip with ROW. They are a class act, through-and-through. Their guides are all seasoned professionals who take their role as river educators seriously and share their knowledge generously. The food is plentiful and delicious, and they go above and beyond when accommodating food sensitivities/allergies. The admin folks are really on top of things from start to finish. If there is any question they haven't already addressed in their pre-trip communications, they are more than willing to answer promptly e-mail or telephone.
We would choose them again anytime they have a trip for a destination we're interested in exploring.

River rafting and true clamping at best. Love this outfitter. Guides are super. Tents and gear comfy. Food incredible. Warm chocolate ganache cake and eggs benedict-- (and many other meals too) ON THE RIVER??? Seriously? The Middle Fork trip is superb with ROW in every way.

I did the six-day trip down the Middle Fork Salmon River in June 2023. With high expectations for the trip based on what I knew ahead of time, it really blew away those expectations. A big reason was the great attention the Row crew gives to its guests. There is a lot of attention to detail, and they have really tuned the guest experience to something pretty magical. They bring strangers together to know each other, and setup a great atmosphere overall. It will be pretty hard to beat this experience!

The Middle Fork is perhaps the best river trip in America, and ROW is perhaps the best guide service I've ever used. The guides are amazingly friendly, upbeat, make great food, and fantastic at making you feel comfortable and having fun. I would definitely go out of my way to go with them again.

Just returned from an amazing 6 day trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon with ROW Adventures. We had a large and diverse group - age range from 10 to 73 - and everyone had a fantastic time. Our guides were simply incredible. Brian, Kim, Jake, Kara, Malcolm, Henry, and Teagan kept us safe and treated us like family. The service level, food and experience were all 5 star. The guides planned activities - hikes for us each day and fun games to play together after dinner each night. Everything about the trip exceeded our expectations. We are already planning our next ROW adventure!

ROW and their guides were amazing on our recent adventure down the Middle Fork. This trip exceeded our expectations and was so much fun. The guides were all great and did an excellent job of making this trip the best.

The middle Fork of the Salmon River is an amazing rafting trip but was made absolutely magical by the skill, professionalism, fun and hard work of our guides. The rapids were exciting, the canyon beautiful, the food fantastic and the games in camp fun. I cannot recommend this trip too highly.

I just returned from a 6-day tour on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. This company is the only choice for a fantastic trip. Top-notch quality all the way (e.g., equipment, camp sites, food/drink, safe, yet challenging rafting, fun times). The guides were the hardest working people, yet they made sure that the guests had a great time. At the airport, I compared my experience with those that selected competing tour companies, and EVERYONE agreed that my experience with ROW far out-shined the other companies. I highly recommend this company and this trip.

Words can’t describe how amazing the ROW experience was! The attention to detail by the guides, and their energy and enthusiasm, made this trip one my family and I will never forget. The guides were naturalists and historians, chefs and entertainers, all while guiding us down the river with grace and care, not to mention reverence for the river. After a week with ROW I feel like I’m part of another family. The guides took care of absolutely everything. I’m beyond impressed!!! Kara and crew, kudos to you! This was my 2nd trip with ROW on the Middle fork of the salmon. It was a wonderfull time. The guides were very attentive. Meals and the camps were great and they kept us entertained. I highly recommend this trip.

One of the best family trips we have experienced. Peter and his guides - Malcolm, Jake, Kara, Henry, Garen and Alec - were ALL the epitome of fun and professionalism.

I started the trip as the nervous rafter among my enthusiastic family. The guides listened and, with their focus on safety and with clear experience-based wilderness competence, I was soon reveling in the excitement of the rapids and the beauty of the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.

On the rafts and at our stops along the way, we were treated to both humorous and serious stories and to natural and social histories that enriched our understanding and appreciation of our surroundings.

Peter and the team were also wonderfully skilled in facilitating sharing and bonding among group members. In these polarizing times, we made very human connections with a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.

Plus, they made unbelievable trail meals. I still can't figure out how (beyond superhuman kitchen skills and organization) they pulled off fresh salads, piping hot breakfasts and deliciously-scented Dutch-oven confections.

We were all moved by the guides' kindnesses, skills and above-and-beyonditude. We will always remember this trip with marvel and gratitude.

We cannot fathom a better rafting company than Row.

Just home from an amazing 6 day 5 night adventure with ROW down the middle fork of the Salmon River. Jake, Brian, Kim, Kara, Bridget, Alec, and Henry were fantastic! They helped the group to see beyond the majestic beauty of the Canyon and river, to learn about the history, legends, and lore of those who have lived there for centuries and the adventurers that traveled and lived here before us.

We loved every minute of our trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Our guides Jake, Kara, Henry, Malcolm, Bridgett, Kim, and Garin were AMAZING. They took care of every detail, allowing my husband and myself, along with our 4 children (ages 9-16) to "aggressively relax." We caught fish, slept under the stars, jumped off rocks, relaxed in the hot springs, took amazing hikes, saw bears and eagles and sheep and snakes, learned some cool history, ate some great food and made some new friends. We ate great food, played hard on the river and off, and had the best time. This trip was worth every penny. If I could give our guides 10 stars, I would. We're thankful to Row for employing such an amazing team of people, and also thankful to the resource that brought us all together...to the RIVER!
