Michele's Salon & Spa

Absolutely love going to Michele’s when I am in town visiting for a great manicure and pedicure and always warm and friendly conversations. The salon has that home kind of welcoming feeling that I so enjoy as coming from a big city with very unfriendly places here - is such a nice change to see warm friendly faces when I visit.

Michele is "Michele's" She runs a wonderful business with services you would only expect in a big city. She is always one step ahead of the fashion and she keeps the bar high.

She is full service and I get all my services there.
The new Eyelash tech is awesome and Carol the Massage Therapist takes away all my stress :)

Sometimes I just like to pop in and shop for clothes or jewelry. The positive energy of the spa is off the charts- Nice job Michele

I love coming into this salon. Michele has been doing my nails for many years. Deniece does my hair. Both of these ladies do a wonderful job. The staff is always friendly.

I have had various services for myself and my elderly parent at Michele's. I have had the pleasure of receiving treatments and services from Michele, Deniece, and Victoria. I highly recommend this salon, TorC is really lucky to have Michele's!

Maria was a master! I have long hair and am afraid of someone that's scissor happy. She straightened the back, taking off very little! My husband had long hair and wanted a short man's cut, feathered. The last person chopped it where he could never get it to lay down. Maria was an artist! He's never been happier! We will definitely be back!

Maria was my go-to gal this time around and she did a fantastic job! 💕 Getting waxed isn't completely painless, especially if it's a Brazilian, but neither was EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL. 😂 I've had both areas done twice already, so I can safely say you're in good hands with Maria or Michele. 👍🏽 Anyways, Maria was very thorough and let me know if there was any stray hairs she just couldn't get because they were too small. Which, in my opinion, was wonderful.
One thing to note though, if you'll be getting underarms done for the first time is bleeding. There will be a small amount of bleeding since your hairs are being ripped out, so don't be surprised or scared. It's not a mistake, that's just what happens. 😁
5 stars again for such awesome service!

When I moved to T or C, I wasn't sure if I'd ever find a salon that offered the luxury (luxury being "hairless") of a Brazilian wax. Well, after putting it off for so long, due to my insecurities and fear of pain, I found a place that threw all of those negative thoughts out the window. Ladies, gents...I'm talking about Michele's Salon & Spa. 🏠💕

I had gone in earlier today around 1:10PM thinking I had set an appointment. Unfortunately that appointment was for a salon & spa all the way in New Jersey! Oops. 🙆🏽 Anyways, the owner Michele, who was one of two women in charge of waxing, was nice enough to set me up for a session at 2:30 even though I was a "last minute notice". However, lucky duck that I'd been, it was because someone had canceled. 😅

The Brazilian can take ABOUT 45 minutes, however mine only lasted 22! A previous esthetician I went to said it should take no more than 10 minutes, but 22 was just fine. I believe Michele gives that time frame to ensure we (her clients) are as comfortable as possible. I know it also took a bit longer due to the length of my hair and pain tolerance, but she was very patient and let me breathe whenever I THOUGHT I couldn't handle it.

She was kind, professional and VERY GENTLE! As gentle as any woman could be with waxing another woman's most sensitive area. Michele's Salon & Spa has been open for 21 years and she's been an esthetician for much longer. Knowing that, I have more trust in her now than I did when I first walked through her doors.

Some things to note:
• My first two experiences of a Brazilian wax was actually pretty painful.
• My previous esthetician in SF, CA didn't oil me before applying the wax, leading to more pain and skin irritation, but Michele did. That helped the wax get ahold of just the hair and not my skin, making it less painful.
• My previous esthetician used cloths on top of the wax to remove the hairs which was also painful. Michele did not. The pain was bearable.
• Because she used a wax that was still able to stick to the hairs even after pre-oiling each area, it led to a softer and smoother outcome.

The total cost with tax included as around $47. Gentle and affordable. I plan to get my brows done next! Anyways, sorry for the long essay, but I just wanted to leave an honest review so all of you know exactly what to expect.
