Cute restaurant, love eating here and working here. Family owned business. The owners work 7 days a week, even on their day off Monday for the business. They don’t get enough credit. Great people.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants you will ever visit. The food is cheap, plentiful, and delicious, and the staff are very kind people. Great service, too. Pictures are "General Chicken with fried rice," "Broccoli Beef with lo mein," and "Italian Cream Soda cherry flavored." We come here often, and everything is consistently wonderful. Not pictured are the crab rangoons, which are delicious also. Definitely order them if you come in, you'll love them!

The chef, in my opinion, prepares excellent food. The waiter (on his last day) was very attentive and checked in with us often. This Café has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The chef even stopped by to chat for a minute. The tables and chairs appear to be new, very clean. There is also an outdoor dining area. Prices are resonable.

This place is always delicious! We get the general chicken every time and it never disappoints. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for good food at a good price.

Excellent food and service. Had Kung Pao Chicken and fried rice. It was delicious! $13 for a lunch. I ordered to go and they even brought it out to me since I had my dog with me!

Gluten Intolerance:
This is really important for those that are GF. Unbelievably, in our little town of Kooskia, ID., they even have GF soy sauce! Also, when you say you need your food to be GF, they're going to make it GF. That alone gives them my undying loyalty.

Also: I have a family member that is a vegan & also GF who loves their food!

The food:
Is absolutely excellent. I love it! If I ask for any changes, it's never a hassle. The lady that cooks is a genius!

(Okay, my only complaint EVER: Twice over the last 15 + years, they forgot to put the peanuts in my Kung Pao Chicken. So, I just remind them every time I order now, and it hasn't happened since. I'm still thrilled with the place & LOVE my Kung Pao Chicken!)

Timing:
Whether I eat in, or get food to go, the preparation is rarely ever more than 20 min. & often much less. (2 ppl.)

Prices:
The prices are very fair, in spite of the inflation we're experiencing. (I'll mention more about this below.)

The curious:
I want to speak on the 3 complaints that I have seen. It's not really important, because there's going to always be an unhappy customer out of all the happy customers.

The owner/cook: (Keep in mind I'm only assuming the cook is the owner, also I make one more assumption that I'll note below.)

As I mentioned earlier, the lady that cooks is a genius! She is a working machine!

I'm sure the owner, whether it's the Cook or not, is really thrifty, but not at the expense of quality. I think it's the combination of her thriftiness, and preparing the food herself, that keeps the prices affordable.

I say the above, as a precursor to the following.

Some feel that she is rude. I really haven't gotten that vibe from her

In my opinion she isn't so much rude, as she is brusque. On a personal level, I just see a professional with a job to do, that she intends to do exceptionally well, and in a very efficient manner.

I think most business owners would understand, but as Americans, we're used to customer service being absolutely exceptional, possibly even more important than the food quality or pricing.

As I mentioned before, she's a machine... Her work ethic is unbelievable. She's working, & she hires waiters that are to be her customer service representatives. I think running the business efficiently, viably, and with quality is her priority.

Also, maybe due to cultural differences, or the sensitivities that some have when dealing with proprietors, that brusqueness has hit a nerve with some customers.

(So, I mentioned another assumption up above. The complaints could be about her hired help. I'm not sure. Although, I've never had a problem with any of the servers.)

I also saw 1 complaint in an obscure location online about the prices. I've never had problems with the prices. I'm not sure what the circumstances were in that scenario.

Finally,
I hope those reading this will keep in mind how far away we live from a city where perishables can be bought at an affordable price, and in the volume that are restaurant would need.

Personally, it takes me $100 in fuel RT to the nearest city that would have these resources, or even a Chinese restaurant with food at the same quality. Also, shipping here isn't always reliable, or remotely affordable, for the non-perishables.

Also, everybody has a bad day. Personally, financially, or product wise, we never know what's going on behind that counter. If we're waiting on something & our order isn't coming out quick enough, maybe the wait staff had to run to the grocery store to pick up an item that didn't come in on time. Who knows. Sometimes, we all have bad days too.

Personally I'm incredibly grateful to have this wonderful little Chinese restaurant here in rural Kooski, Idaho.

DONE!

Surprisingly a good find in the middle of nowhere. Tourists from Philippines who fortunately got the chance to do a road trip around August 2020. We just happened to pass by and after a long drive seeing nothing interesting to eat in, we find this cafe. Wasn't expecting too much but it was really a nice surprise to 3 hungry travelers. Staff are friendly too and food was really good 👌

Stopped on the way the home to Montana today. I had a real yen for Chinese food, so I gave it a try.
What a GREAT surprise! The young waitress was so pretty it was hard to look at the menu!
She made a few recommendations and I took her advice. It was some of the absolute best Chinese food since I worked in San Francisco!
The young lady was on top of her game throughout my meal. I WILL RETURN!

Salt and pepper chicken was my favorite dish, though since turning vegetarian I haven't gone much. Ben and Grace make it with TOFU and it's even better! I hope all is well with your family!

The Chinese food here is consistently fantastic!! Favorites are pot stickers, hot and sour soup, egg rolls, Mongolian beef...although we've never had anything we didn't like. Service, too, always efficient and friendly, as is the owner. If you're in Kooskia, and hungry for Chinese, it's the place to go.
