Strawberry Hill Recreation Area

A beautiful piece of MT back country yet easily accessible from Miles City and Rt 12. Road repair and some grading had been done recently with just a few bumps that might require a little clearance. Some loose fairly steep hills where a 4x4 would provide better traction.

Amazing dispersed camping and not another soul in sight. Quiet despite some night construction a few miles down the road - the hills helped block it out. No signs of dangerous critters. A little trouble getting up the hill in dry weather but we did alright in the end!

Loved this place. No one else was here, it was quiet and lovely. We stopped in late and camped for the night. One warning, be very careful of how far you drive after the gate. Other than that it's an awesome, primitive and quiet place.

Very nice area for hiking

This is a federal park so there are no amenities. Great hiking trails. If you are coming from Miles City there isn't a sign showing you the entrance so when your Google maps says turn left here at this little dirt road...that's the place. Not recommended for winter visits unless you have the proper cold weather gear. The road is a bit steep so, again, in winter nor recommended unless you have 4W drive. Respect the Locals and their culture and the place they call home.

It is a great place to explore the outdoors outside of the city.

Wow. Fantastic trail, not technical. The walk on the edge is a little impressive especially with the wind but it is a very small section.

The view from the main trail is amazing. One of my all time favorite trail.

And a Geocache is on the trail! What a fantastic park.

Awesome little spot that's 'off the path'. Other reviews claimed the roads were too steep and rutted to make it further than the first lot.. I took a e350 Ford Econoline line van that's 2 wheel drive all the way down to the bottom. Great little walking paths that were almost clear of anyone else. I think there was 2 others parked in the lots.

Didn't know the area so we didn't venture off too far, especially after seeing big cat prints in the trail. I'd recommend planning ahead and wear pants. Would of liked to go off trail but with lil knowledge of the area, didn't think it was a good idea.

We were the only ones there. Hsd the place all to ourselves. Hear the coyotes howl and see a little Wildlife it was nice
