What a gorgeous and breathtaking view! You can drive up to there too! If you want to get closer to view the Napali coast, you can walk partially on the trail, but it is very risky since it is slippery. If you’re up to it I think it’s totally worth it!

Beautiful lookout!
Love the information on the history of Father Damien and the leper colony. Unfortunately the north side is still shut down unless you fly, so this was the best opportunity to learn about the crazy history of what happened not even that long ago!

This is the best viewpoint on Molokai. The times we've been here the wind has been howling and the weather is moving over Kalaupapa. The sheerness of the cliff is so impressive, it's hard to imagine what kind of trail is required to safely get down. The trail from the parking lot to the lookout is short and easy, this is worth the visit while on Molokai.

Such beautiful views! You will be stauend, because this part of the Island you won't be able to access easily otherwise.

Go and check out the phallic rock on the other side... definitely something to explore if you are already there!

In case you need to use the bathroom: Very clean bathrooms!!

Just a short drive from wherever you are, so why miss it! On the way back "post a nut" in the post office close to the airport (Post Office open: Mo-Fr).

This lookout is the best way to see the Kalaupapa Peninsula if you don't have a permit to go down the trail. Breathtaking view. It's also the way to see the *ahem* Phallic Rock. A great spot to visit on your journey around Molokai, for sure.

So beautiful! Just a short walk from the parking lot to the lookout. The overlook is quite windy so take a light jacket. Such a gorgeous peaceful palace to visit.

The closest you can get to seeing it now that the roads and hikes are closed. Either way beautiful spot! Bring binos if you can!

A short drive from the airport and well worth it. The lookout gives you a great visual perspective of how high the cliffs are (2000ft at thia point!) and how cut off Kalaupapa is from the world.

The lookout also has some nice informational signs that tell you about what happened at Kalaupapa, the history, geography and more. It is well worth your time to come see thia and the nearby Kowleonanahoa (phallic) stone. Kowleonanahoa and the lookout are in the same parking lot. The stone ia about a 5-10 minute walk through an almost Pacific Northwest forest and the lookout is a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot. I highly recommend seeing them both!

Of all the places one must visit on Molokai, this is one of them. This area is maintained by the County of Maui so it is with plenty of parking and easy access for anyone. There are even restrooms if you need them.

The day we visited was covered with clouds but there were still peekaboo use of the Kalaupapa Peninsula. If the wind is up you can get a little cold so it's worth having a windbreaker or jacket with you. Don't forget to take lots of pictures as you're looking at the history of Hawaii right in front of you.

I went finally see if you can find the stink fungus. Colorful but wow! I don't know it's true name but the story I was told is pretty amazing.

Awesome place to get a glimpse of the kalaupapa peninsula from a high vantage point. Short walk from the parking lot. The phallic rock is also reached from the same parking lot.

More windy and cooler than the rest of the island. Bring a jacket, but leave your hat.

So amazing. I was pleasantly surprised that we could get some history without walking down to the village or spending hundreds of dollars to rent mules.
