Not Your Average Joe's - Westwood

Every time I go here the food is delicious. Most recently I was there for brunch and I got the avocado focaccia toast and my friend got the French toast. Both were out of this world. Everything was flavorful and delicious.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I was just having lunch with a friend and wanted to try this place since I work close. I didn't realize it was brunch on Saturday! I had the chilaquiles l, which were very good. The strawberry lime rickey amazing. The fried donut holes amazing. So glad we came. Our server so friendly.

First time going to N.Y.A.J. and we were extremely pleased with the food and service. Our server, Jane, was very warm and had great recommendations!

The food genuinely exceeded my expectations. The nachos were good; I really liked the fresh bread they brought for the table. My crispy southwest chicken (salad) was really great!

Went here for my birthday and got the salmon bowl. It was delicious and I highly recommend it! Also, we asked them to get our order out quickly because we had plans after dinner and they delivered our food and drinks all in a blazing 7 minutes! Thank you!!!

Surprisingly good. I really enjoyed my meal and draft beer.

I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews but decided to give it a shot. The bread and the dipping oil is perfect. I tried the lobster Mac & cheese with a side Cesar salad. Everything was delicious and the server was super nice.

Really enjoyed the food at Not Your Average Joe’s at University Station. Plenty of tv’s to watch the game and the staff was friendly to everyone in our group. The burger was so filling, so portions are the perfect size. We’ll come back to Not Your Average Joe’s next time we’re on the south shore. Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I chose to eat here because it was close to the hotel we were staying at and we were absolutely blown away. Amazing experience. Our server, Osmar, was friendly, outgoing and prompt. We ordered the nachos and the steak eggrolls and both were delicious. The presentation of the plates was beautiful. Osmar recommended that we try The Peanut Butter Thing from the dessert menu and it was the best: a perfect peanut buttery, chocolate, caramel delight. I just wanted to give Osmar the recognition he deserves because he made our first ever visit memorable and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back to NYA Joe's because of him.

Thank you, Jake and team for going above and beyond to help me with a “hiccup” that I had that was not their issue. Jake and his team were polite, kind, and helpful when they could have just wrote it off as not their problem. Thank you again! You will have a customer for life any time I come back to Mass! 😊

Was pleasantly surprised as we haven't been in many years and found the atmosphere ....service and new menu was amazing!

We LOVE it here! Been going to NYAJ for twenty years (originally in its old Needham location) - always great service. Jay in Westwood is awesome and we consider it a real treat when we're at one of his tables. Love their salads, their salmon, the Jambaylya, the Tips, and of course the Mustard Crusted Chicken (a favorite with our family). Bang Bang Shrimp, Nacho's, & Spricy Cauliflower are best apps. Best dessert is Peanut Butter Thing Great cocktails and always a tasty beer menu. Shout out to Jake (the manager) who's always on top of things, quick to respond if anything needs attention, and great at keeping guests happy. We miss the intamacy of the old Needham loation but have grown to love the lively spirit and wonderful staff in Westwood. (Google suggested I also mention there's plenty of parking and a nice outdoor dining area with fireplace)

The cheese steak egg rolls and bread with oil are SO good!! Must try! Apple Pumpkin Soup was very disappointing. It either needed to be a spread of less apple and more soupy. It was just chunky like homemade apple sauce.

Honestly, awesome for families. Great with our almost 4 year old, kids meal comes with a hood cup and instead of crayons they had these awesome wax strings that we're totally gonna purchase for his upcoming birthday.

We thought we'd pop out for a low key dinner, thinking we'd get reasonable pub food at NYAJ. The food was actually phenomenal! Spouse said the enchiladas were the best they'd ever eaten. Salmon was perfectly cooked - when they ask how you'd like, just say "the way the chef recommends". Perfect! Even the seafood fettuccini was elevated by an incredibly smooth veloute sauce. Believe or not we ordered dessert and we're very happy. The key lime pie filling was an excellent custard, and had enough lime, actually! I love lime! I would have preferred less cinnamon in the graham cracker crust, but spouse really liked it. They make a great traditional mule, too!
The service was okay, not great, but okay.
But we will definitely be back to give it another try.

Food was very good, had a fabulous salad. It was a bit chilly in the dining room. Service was wonderful. We had a lovely and patient server who helped take care of the 2 women in their 90s I took out for lunch.

Good food, gluten free bread, and polite service. Have and will go back.

Always so so good. Never a complaint. Get the peanut butter thing for dessert. You will not be disappointed. Portion size was smaller for dinner but enough to fill (no leftovers)

I went a few days ago with friends and had the pleasure of having Katie as my server. She recommended a lot of great dishes and my friends and I had a much easier time deciding since everything looked so good! If you’re in the area and decide to dine here, ask for Katie she great!

Last night my daughter and I stopped in for dinner. Our server came to our table and was so polite and kind. I said to my daughter how he looked so familiar to me. Then it hit me. He looked like a carbon copy of my nephew that passed away not too long ago. When it hit me, I became very emotional and stared to cry. He asked if everything was ok. My daughter explained what happened and he was so caring that he hugged me and I swear I was hugging my nephew. So Dunny P., I want to thank you for your kindness and compassion as well as your pristine service. Not to mention the food is always excellent. I hope I get the chance to stop in again when I’m in the area bc we are not from there. Also, to make this a bit spiritual, my daughter and I could’ve gone to a bazillion different places but bc we love NYAJ’s we decide on there. Like it was meant to be and Dunny, thank you for letting me hug my nephew again through you. Continue to spread your awesomeness to other patrons.
