Great wine shop in South Boston! The owner is very knowledgeable and has a large selection of unique wines. There are even tastings every Friday.

Staff is so incredibly helpful and kind. Truly a pleasure interacting with them, and they have made amazing recommendations. Willing to order beers that they don't normally carry. They have tastings twice a week, which are awesome and usually include wines I would never think to try on my own, but are always delicious. Prices are fairly competitive, but I would rather go here just for the service if it meant paying more.

Never did I think I would feel the need to write a review about a liquor store but this business deserves ALL the recognition. It's one of those special places that you don't realize you need until you find it. Shopping here over the years has completely changed my whole wine game. Its a smallish store but it's incredibly well curated. So, instead of endless isles of who knows what, you can be sure that anything you buy there will be great. Not only will you love what you bought, but you will have learned something and probably found something you never would have found on your own. They also have a large selection of natural wines and Pet Nats, which are my personal fave. The beer and cider selection is impressive and locally focused, and they also have a great, and again, curated selection of liquor. While you won't find every big brand here.. they will help you will find something you like more because what's especially amazing about this place is that employees really know the products. I have walked in countless times and told them what I'm cooking or where I'm going and they help me select the perfect item. They are also happy to special order all kinds of wines for you, which I have done several times. Special shoutout to Eileen for all of the help and knowledge she has given me over the last few years! Thanks, Social Wines! You're the absolute best retailer in the city!

I live near the Cambridge store but I happened to drop in this South Boston location. I had a great chat with Eileen who manages both stores, and she helped me pick out six wines in order to get the half case discount of 5%.

I think of this store as a great place to get knowledgeable advice from the staff, and choose wines that I wouldn’t otherwise find on my own wandering the isles at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. Or even just picking something randomly off the shelf of other small wine stores. What makes the difference is the curation and the selection of wines and the chance to chat with the staff and learn more about wines and what I like. For example, they helped me discover that we really like mineraly whiten wines. And they’re great at asking what prices you’d like to try and then giving you examples under $15 or under $25, etc.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Clean and organised with a good selection of most types of alcohol.

For a small place they have a great beer and wine selection. You won't find the cheap wines, but if you're a big wine-o or buying for one, they have some great unique finds and a knowledgeable team that will happily make recommendations and guide you through. I also love that their system can keep track of what you buy for later reference, and if you're buying for a friend that shops there, it's an easy way to look up what they like!

Amazing! Some of the best beer selections in the city. A great variety of IPAs, Sour Ales, Lagers & Wine...so much Wine! The staff are well informed about the merchandise and it is clear they enjoy the business they are involved in. Everything about the look of the store is great. From the wood to the lighting and more. The bags they offer are biodegradable and they offer to keep track of your purchases which allows one to recall them, via the staff and their system, upon ones future visits. No more guessing what you purchased and enjoyed last.

The staff here are amazing! I came with a list, I am not a wine person, and the sales person was on it, she found everything in under a minute. I am sorry I forgot her name! I have never been disappointed by this store. 2022 updated;. Still great!

I don't visit often because I don't live in the area but every time I do the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I always leave happy with my choices.

Awesome place. Super knowledgeable yet down to earth and unpretentious. They've got a great selection of Spanish wines that other big box liquor stores will never have. Great craft beers too.

Outstanding selection of beers, wines and liquors. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, without being pretentious. They do frequent tastings, and even brought in a special bottle of whiskey for me to try before buying it. I make a point of going here first for any of my harder finds for all the reasons mentioned. Prices are reasonible.

Great selection, and extremely great service. Pete was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a couple different spirits-- even poured me small tastings of a few to help narrow down what I was looking for. I don't even live close to this store, but I'll definitely be back. Thank you!

Great selection of craft beer and wine, with lots of hard to find and out of the ordinary offerings. Also really helpful and knowledgeable staff - I was organizing a beer and cheese pairing and we talked at length about different pairing ideas. Awesome place, wish I lived closer so I could frequent!

First class wines and service! I needed to send birthday champagne to a friend in Boston (I"m in NY). They helped me find a quality affordable champagen but delivered to my friend within an hour!! Why go anywhere else? They are the real deal!

I love Social Wines! They have a great selection of wines -- all with great flavor and varies from very expensive to cheap (but still delicious). The owners are often there and are very helpful in picking out the perfect wine. It is my go-to wine shop in Boston.

Been going here for years - they have a knowledgeable team that can offer great drink advice when you need it. Great craft brews, local spirits, and tons of wines across the price spectrum. Highly recommended!

Super nice, friendly staff, after going a few times they remembered my name and my wine preference. The selection is gianormous and constantly adding new brands to try. This place is great.
