Rondo's Submarine Sandwiches

While the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, the food was incredible. The three people behind the counter were very friendly and were patient with me as I was taking pictures and asking lots of questions about South Boston. The steak and cheese with salami and mushrooms was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. I will definitely be back here every time I’m in Boston. I was told this was the bad part of town. That is not the case. Granted, I was there at 4:30 PM, but the place was very safe.

We have found our FAVORITE sub shop in ALL of Boston! Generous portions! Taste amazing! We’ve had the Bomb Steaks sub, meatball sub, steak & cheese, buffalo chicken, grilled cheese too. Everything is delish!!

Fantastic Boston experience. Went in and ordered a grilled chicken sub. Nice guy behind the counter tries to explain they are out of chicken, but it was tough because his English isn't great, which is a good sign at restaurants. I get a steak and cheese, and ask for hot peppers. A hilarious 5 minute conversation ensues and I still am not sure whether he was TELLING me the peppers are too hot, or ASKING me whether I like spicy food. In any case, the hot peppers were great, the steak and cheese was great, and the sandwich maker was fantastic. Will definitely be back.

This is an old school sub shop with the matriarch (I’m assuming) of the family front and center on the 1’s & 2’s. I walked in around noon on a Saturday, and there were about 6 firemen waiting on food, as well as a long line of waiting customers that was at the entry door. That to me is a SURE sign the food is fire. I got a steak and cheese bomb, bread toasted. It was stacked with steak, end to end. Omggg it looked as if I’d ordered xtra meat(which normally I do cuz it’s more bread than anything). It was so damn GOOD! I’m embarrassed that I haven’t come here sooner, they’ve been around since the 1970’s maybe?!? It’s a real old school family feel place. Love love love

This place is a 10 out of 10 Everytime I go. I have not been in a couple of years but it taste just like it did the last time I was there. The service is fast, compassionate and with no mistakes ever. My mom came with me the first time and graded the sandwich 100. We loved it the neighborhood knows this great gem. Please check this out it's not fancy but it's delicious. I rather delicious any day then a perfect photo.

Amazing hot dog, I just come here for a little bite before a meet a friend! Kristen give me amazing service! Butter bread with relish , onions and mostard! For sure is a place to come! I am sure if I live close by I come here every day for some bite! Tomorrow I am back for the grilled cheese 🥰🥰🥰

I was visiting from out of town & thank God for Google maps & reviews for places to eat. I ordered 2 cold subs & they were awesome & packed with lots of meat! Would definitely go back again when visiting!

Favorite sub shop in Boston. Never had a bad experience. Great food, good prices, friendly staff. My go to is their buffalo chicken sub but their steak and cheese never disappoints. Can get pretty busy during peak hours so I’d recommend calling ahead.

Amazing steak and cheese. Perfectly seasoned and perfect amount of cheese. I got provolone. This place knows steak and cheese. Bread soft and fluffy. Added some sriracha too. Amazing !
