Drove by this on the Trolley Tour Bus and decided to check it out since it was open on Saturday. Very cool collection of Boston Fire history inside this converted fire house. The volunteers were excellent with visitors old and young alike explaining everything with such pride. We left just as a very large kids group was coming in. T-shirts and patches available for purchase. Take some time and visit. I'd recommend it.

Small historical working firehouse. This museum boasts a lot of Boston Fire history in a very small space. You can also hold birthdays here as well. Modest gift shop also on site. Donations encouraged.

We were delighted to find the museum open on a Sunday. The guys there were very friendly and informative. A free activity, though we bought a couple of commemorative t-shirts.

Amazing free museum located in the heart of downtown Boston that captures the minds and imaginations of children, families, and adults alike. A very warm and engaging staff that love to converse about the history of firefighters in this city/country and willing to offer a perspective that is hard to find outside of a setting like this. It's not a large museum but well worth a visit. They were also hosting a kid's birthday party upstairs when I was visiting which seemed like a lot of fun.

Boston Fire Museum is an amazing place to look at history of all facets of firefighting. Trucks, ladders, water jets... they have a real good walkthrough on safety and fire suppression throughout the years. Adults will find fascinating facts, kids will find hands on projects and maybe even put out a fire. Perfect place to throw a birthday party, get a tour or even history of Boston. Purchase some cool Boston Fire memorabilia; shirts, hats, sweatshirts or trucks.

Walked in and seen Dan O'Neal teaching some history (it was like looking at my grandfather again)
Clem O'Neill. What a resemblance) must be the O'Neill)

Looking around and taking pictures I got to speak with Chris Kelly a fireman. I had asked him what his favorite part of the fire truck was and he said he liked to drive. All three of us are 6ft6+. That was a rare event for me.

He is really knowledgeable about history. And taught me something today, That was nice

Everyone here is

~ Friendly and Respectful

This is a small, but great little museum in SeaPort. It’s packed with history and memorials to fallen heroes. Adults can enjoy the innovation of fire fighting and prevention technology thorough the years. Kids can enjoy hopping on fire engine vehicles older than anyone in the building, and seeing equipment worn by fighters.
There’s an upstairs used for private youth birthday parties. The museum is FREE, though the fairly priced merchandise directly benefits heroes in need.

It is such a great place to visit. They have a few older trucks along with the newer one and somebody is always there to answer your questions and to give a small tour. They also have a party room upstairs and it's easily noticeable from traffic and is situated close to a few parking spots!

The men who work here are very nice. They are very knowledgeable of the history of the firehouse and fire engines and we're happy to show us around. They have a sweet dalmation that the kids love! The only downfall to the place is that it is a bit cramped, but it's just because there are apparatuses parked in there. One is an antique firetruck that the kids can sit on and pretend to drive.

Great little Museum we stopped into after visiting the Boston Children's Museum. Lot's of history in this beautiful building that has served the City well. Can become quite busy at times. They host Birthday Parties upstairs in the old Crew Quarters.

The folks that were manning the Station were Very nice and will give a little history lesson if you ask them. They have a spot where you can donate to help keep the Museum free to the Public. They also sell Shirts, Hats, Patches and more. They also are selling "Preston Strong" Shirts to help support Lt. Glenn Preston who is battling Cancer he got while on the Job.

If you are looking for something to do while visiting the City and Children's Museum, please stop in as it's just a short walk down Congress Street.

Thank you for showing my Wife & Daughters a great time and for giving this Ex-Vermont Firefighter a great history lesson. May God Bless you all.

Incredible historical museum of firefighting in Boston. Fascinating firefighting equipment, vehicles and gear some of which dates back to the 1700s. Great for children and families alike. Mike who volunteered there was full of knowledge and a fantastic fire fighting historian. Highly recommend.

Great exhibits highlighted by the tour guide, Mike, who was a wealth of information and background. We got twice as much out of the visit once Mike started his tour! He's got a true depth of knowledge about the fire service and Boston. Highly recommend!

Visited here with my brother and it was very informative. While it is pretty small and the exhibits weren't the most extravagant, for those who care about fires and fire departments should go. Admission is free so always worth a quick peek.
