I'm shocked at the reviews I'm reading on this place, and think people are expecting too much. I travel frequently and stay on hotels frequently (cheaper hotels) and this is at the top of my list of cheap hotels. No one should expect best, paying this price. It's not the best, it's one of the cheapest. And for being the cheapest, I think it's great. The staff is polite and available, and attentive to the property and guests. I was not uncomfortable, the place doesnt seem 'sketch' to me, the property didn't haven't people wondering the halls, nor outside, nor did I think it smelled of pot or cigarettes. The outlets are a possibly a little weak, the air conditioner maybe a little loud, however everything worked just fine. The beds were no cloud nine, but comfortable and clean? Yes. The carpet needs updating, sure, but I saw no bugs/roaches anywhere. My biggest complaint is that, aside from the convenience of kings dominion, there's not much to do near by- which of course, has nothing to do with the quality of this hotel. I've stayed here multiple times, and would stay again.

The hotel is old but it seems the owners are only renting the remodeled side of the building. Our room was clean. The bed was comfortable. AC was cold. The guy from the front desk helped us with our bags. The managers were so nice in the morning at breakfast. Granted the hallways and some areas are out of date but that doesn’t bother us. Bonus is tractor trailer parking and right off the highway!

For the price, which was around $65, I expected a Super 8 or Motel 6 setup. Was I wrong! No, this is not the Ritz, but the room was super clean, the bed and pillows were ultra comfortable, the bathtub was clean, the shower was great, no carpeting, which is a plus,. The fridge was super cold and even had a freezer! Had coffee machine and microwave. Curtains covered the window from edge to edge. I was amazed. So wonderful and so affordable. The staff was very nice and breakfast was nice. Yes, most doors need TLC in the way of paint and a couple of bath tiles need replacing, but there was no black mold or scum in bathtub, and what is needed is nothing they can't handle. I will definitely stay here again.

I frequently travel between DC and Richmond, and this is my go to hotel. For the price, you get an excellent place to stay. Its quiet, staff is very polite and courteous. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I could stay at higher price hotel, but I choose this one for convenience. Although I95 traffic can be a little noisy, the Manager KB, changed my room away from it, and no problem. Great Place!

We have been here a few months and we haven’t had any problems housekeeping is great we get towels and things everyday if needed. Customer service has always been good.

What a hidden gem. I believe the owner said he bought this place in December 2018 and since then you can tell as soon as you walk into the lobby that they have been working hard to make this place something nice again. The room was very nice everything looks brand new. The price was great I don't doubt when they are done upgrading the hotel they will charge more... but I hope not. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The front desk clerk I believe she said her name was Amber is the kind of person you want to have check you in. She was very pleasant and patient as we asked her 20 different questions. If she didn't know an answer the owner did. I honestly can not say enough good stuff about this place from our experience. I just hope you have the same when you stay. Without a doubt there is no where else I will stay if I am in the area again.

My fiancé and I travel down this way quite often in my 18-wheeler and always stay here whether we want a room for one night, or for the weekend. Through the years this location has gone through many different owners, but the newest owner, Sam, is by far the best. He has made renovations to many of the rooms and continues to work on the other ones. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, the rooms are clean, and have TVs, microwaves and refrigerators, and always smell good. My fiancé has asthma so we need non smoking rooms, and we have never had an issue with the room smelling like smoke. The breakfast is your normal hotel food, and the breakfast area is always nicely stocked and clean. The front desk staff is always pleasant and accommodating, as is the housekeeping staff. The price can’t be beat, and we would encourage any truck drivers to give this place a try. The large parking lot is ideal for trucks. So get out of your truck for the night or the weekend and take advantage of a nice place to relax and watch tv and have a nice hot shower! We most definitely will continue to give Sam our business when we are in the area !!

My personal experience hotel associate working nights greeted me with a smile very fast check in.room was clean did not smell damp or smoked in .beds were clean, sheets had been changed no wrinkles and no bugs bathroom was clean shower valve was a little tricky no direction on hot or cold but not a big deal.room was not bad at all. Price point was great and hot breakfast was also a nice treat .I will stay here again easy access from I-95 and if your driving a semi or rv there is plenty of parking 2 entrance's room all the way around the building. ..no worries

5 stars! Clean facility, friendly staff, crystal clear and clean pool. I am a diamond member of the Choice Hotel chain, and this property definitely meets and exceeds my expectations. Prompt first class courteous service from the time of arrival until the time of departure. Property manager is the most polite and helpful of any Choice hotel I've visited. ALL 5 STARS!

Location is perfect for visiting Kings Dominion. The rooms are good, and the staff is amazing and helpful.

Excellent - 5 Stars!!! I stay in choice hotels all the time (once a month minimum) ....this place has gone above and beyond for what a choice hotel is all about. I travel with my work and I will be returning here in the future. Very happy with my purchase.

Pros

Conviently off 95. Large parking area plenty of space for a trailer even a semi could probably park here to be honest.

Polite front desk - helpful patient great persona/vibe gave me a small discount automatically and thanked me for being a gold member with choice hotels.

Clean comphy bed with nice pillows and crisp white sheets. New towels in bathroom not old and worn down nice furniture in room....Check.....breakfast nook - not just coffee and bread. - hot breakfast

Decent sized room - CLEAN floor (I am in a pet friendly room so have the wood floor but it's CLEAN)

Honestly can't think of any cons....maybe they could re do the carpet in the hallway in five years but otherwise I found nothing I can say negative about this place.

This hotel has come a very long way! It is a bit rough looking in spots but you can tell the staff and owners put alot of their hearts and hard work into this business. It is not 100% there but within a year or two this place will be a 4 star hotel. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing you again soon!

I have been staying here for over six months. It's in the cut and very peaceful. The beds are comfortable and the overall appearance is nice. My only concern is the Wifi can be slow at times. Other than that I love it here.

I recently stayed their, honestly they were very helpful & humble. One of the things that happened to me is that I had to increase my stay days & the were very understanding & they gave me the same rate. The front desk are very excellent service especially an employee called Mr. Suliman I am very grateful to him & his crew who were very nice I will sure recommend this hotel for every one & it's so clean & smells good. Thank you for your hospitality😄😄😄😄

As always, this establishment as well as the comfort inn on the top of the hill I’ve always been my favorite in the area.The smiling familiar gentleman’s at the front desk is always pleasant to see. Very accommodating, rooms are clean, wood floors are clean and rooms as well. Always my go to place when I’m in the area

Under new ownership by very good people. I just rented a room from them to find the electricity turned off in my room due to some routine maintenance. The owner had it taken care of within minutes and she apologized for the inconvenience. I highly recommend staying here. Thanks guys for maintaining a great hotel.

The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Big tv in room. AC cold.. Coffee is 24 hours a day available and always hot. Very quiet stay. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay. Front Desk are awesome. If we need something they were there right away. Great service, great smile and great rooms. Decided to stay a 2nd day because we enjoyed so much. The staff are grate. They were very respectful and kindhearted. The price is affordable and the rooms are clean. They are also pet friendly and trucker friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a great place to stay if you have a camper or tractor trailer. More than enough parking for several trucks. Huge parking lot. The owner of this property is great. He makes every effort to keep the property updated and a great place to stay. Staff are all friendly and efficient.
