Cotton's Fried Chicken

Why did I wait 20 years to try Cottons chicken!?! Folks don't brag on this place nearly enough. Great food - Great people! Old school dinner feel inside.

Hands down the best place to eat in Minden every time I visit. I personally get the "Chicken Fried Steak Fingers" with white gravy instead of Brown for the fingers. But, when I get the mashed potatoes they have to have the brown gravy. I have tried their chicken and it's just as good. The staff is always great to interact with. Especially the sweet lady with the pin curls, she is too sweet and adorable.
I will always recommend this place to anyone that's looking for a great meal at a great price...🤙

In town visiting from Dallas so we stopped the food was hot and fresh and very flavorful the first time at this restaurant and I can say I was pleased with the food I will definitely go hear again. Oh by the way they have some very good brownies. And everything was reasonably priced

Small town good food. A friend told me we had to try this place, and it did not disappoint. The chicken has a great chrisp and flavor! Even the to-go order all the way back home was great. Highly recommend!!

Well, I have been trying to visit this establishment for almost the last six months. I would either be going through town and they were closed or they would be so packed I knew I could never explain why it took so long to make it back to work. Not today - thank the rain gods…
A girl at work would make me a plate of gizzards when I would bring some, and she mentioned Cottons as the best place to get some. I have tried a couple of other places and they were alright, but they just don’t seem to be on the menu at a lot of joints around here.
We were snackish, and still 45 minutes from home and what to my surprise - Cottons open and only three vehicles in the parking lot - I whipped in and ordered us a gizzard plate and two med drinks. It did not take long to get my hot package and get back to the car and rip that bag open. We were out playing a game with our phones - so I am gonna chock it up to my phone being busy - my eye beholding the plate of perfectly fried nuggets and my mouth exploding with anticipation of getting one - is the reason I did not snap a pic. I did get the menu board though while waiting…
Delicious - the batter - the crunch - the bit of heat at the end…. It was the closest I have ever had to my perfect plate of gizzards and then for other reasons better than. The crunch was just as good 30 min later as it was when I opened them. The seasoning was great. Overall the texture was fantastic - although there were a few that had the chewy tendon that so many people say is why they avoid gizzards all together. It was only a few - which is why I have such high praise. Wish I could share the family secret for taking care of that chewy tendon, and if they share the seasoning and batter secret I just might. Can not wait to go back and get some more gizzards for the picture - and snatch up some chicken or fish for the family.

Hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. (Aside from my husband's) Even the nuggets were real chicken, and done well.

Most towns in the south, if you’re lucky, have a local fried chicken establishment that the local swear is the best around. Cottons fried chicken is just happens to be one of those places. Everything is good sweet tea is better. They have something the most places don’t and that’s the chicken bites (nuggets). I could probably eat 20 of them at one sitting they’re so good family owned business totally recommend

Best fried oysters I've had in a while. Fried catfish was crispy and juicy. Can't wait to go back.

This is a simple-fare place, only booths, counter order, you know the type. The menu is as compact as the restaurant, too; fried chicken and/or catfish, (shrimp & oysters as well). But done very very well.
The fish is fried coated is a meal mix, I didn’t have the chicken on either of two visits. Fried to a turn, and both toothsome & first rate.
I had their red beans & rice as a side, they’re all made from scratch here, and they’re honestly perhaps the best beans & rice I’ve EVER had.
This is place is popular and prices are fair, so I give it 5 stars.

OMG this is the best chicken I’ve had. It’s just like southern classic. Their fast with your orders. Close at 9. Very friendly. There pies are the best. You won’t regret this chicken and more. Their fish plates are big also and good

The only issue I've had in the last 6 years is they overcook the chicken livers and gizzards. They need to pull them from the grease sooner. The livers are always dry even though I ask to pull them before the timer goes off. The gizzards are cooked to the point of being like beef jerky.
Having said all that, the rest of the food is omgosh good! Reasonable prices. Nice portions. We go there often.

We are from Tennessee was passing through best chicken and catfish I've ever had. Love the food, definitely will be back when passing through. Highly recommend!!! A local told me about the place definitely didn't disappoint.
