El Caldero Dominican Restaurant

I stopped by for early dinner and I don’t regret it. I ordered the Pollo Guisado, rice, Maduros, and stewed beans and everything was delicious. Well seasoned! The Manager, Sandy was very kind and attentive and our server Ruth was excellent!
The customer service was exceptional. I’m definitely coming back with my family!

El Caldero is amazing. My wife and I have been to the DR many times, and El Caldero is as authentic as it gets. The Pico Pollo was perfect - great flavor and falls off the bone. I had yh I Camarofongo - it was delicious and filled me up completely. The service was great and the price was very reasonable.

El Caldero is a must, make it your next stop.

My experience was excellent! My server Ruth was sweet and suggested different dishes. The menu was organized and very easy to read. They are doing a great to have recently reopened last week - under new management. I wish them the most success!! Love 🇩🇴 food!!

We found this place by chance on a Google search leaving a Marriage Conference. Wow were we blessed! This place was absolutely amazing! The service was so accommodating and friendly and the food was top shelf. Authentic and well prepared. This will be our new yearly Sunday stop after the conference! Highly reccommend!

El Calderon Dominican Restaurant opened not long ago up here in Gainesville, Georgia. A few weeks ago I wanted to stay local and remembered this spot was hidden over there in the corner of Gainesville and Oakwood. As I browsed their menu I see they had MOFONGO!! Mofongo is a Puerto Rican dish that has fried green plantains but they are made into like a mash potato dish along with some delicious seasoning.

So as you can see, you'll understand why I was excited when I saw that they had a dish called POLLOFONGO (pollo means chicken). This dish looks and tastes AMAZING! The plantain was very tasty along with their creole sauce poured all over the perfectly fried chicken. This was a fun and tasty dish to eat.

I ordered a few appetizers to try them out, empanadas and stuffed patties. If you're familiar with Latin food, the stuffed patties are like bollitos, except they were fried. With the empanadas, the beef empanada was the best, followed by the chicken empanada and then the cheese empanada. Unfortunately the cheese empanada is just regular American cheese from what I could tell, not worth it. With the stuffed patties, I thought the Chicken one was the best 🤷

El Calderon of course has all sorts of fruit drinks so I went with TAMARINDO. If you've never had a tamarindo drink, order one next time you're out!! It is a sweet and deliciously tart drink 🤤

Their menu is priced well ($8-$15) but their mofongos are $20 + (mine was $20) and I wish it came with more than a little side salad 😏 But I am fully aware that most people will say I don't need any more more food😂

The Dominican food served at el Caldero is perhaps one of the tastiest Dominican food I have eaten while in Georgia. The rice there was rich in flavor and the meat there tasted good with every bite I took. It was especially filling so this is a good spot to come to when you’re really hungry. I actually heard about El Caldero through Latin Restaurant Weeks and I’m glad I was the opportunity to know about this spot and try its food. Highly recommend everyone in Gainesville to stop by here.

This is my new go to spot! I’ve ordered take out several times and everything I’ve tried is so tasty! The servers Ruth and Katie are always attentive and suggest new dishes for me to try! Management is doing a great job!

First time visiting this place and I have nothing but great things to say... The location is easy to access, the place is clean, the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is mouth watering. Do you want to taste the true flavors of our friends from the Dominican Republic? Then give them a visit. I felt like I was visiting an aunt or my mom in my island of Puerto Rico. Recommend 100%. I wish them nothing but success!

The vibes are out the door . The service matches the culture of Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 . Family and friends the food is 10/10 I got the plantain boats and beef empanadas. Both embodied the taste of the DR!! My server Ruth was friendly and full of smiles !! Patience is a virtue the food is made to order so it comes out nice and hot . I been here twice and each time it gets better !! UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!! Come to this local spot to get just a little taste of the DR!!

What a jewel in Gainsville. The food here is nothing short of amazing and the owners are wonderful. If you want authentic Dominican food you have to try this place.

This place came highly recommended and it lived up to the hype. Everyone got different food and it was all delicious. I was told the chicken stuffed with shrimp and mofongo was the way to go and it rocked!

We drove 2 hrs to get to El Caldero Restaurante for a birthday celebration. It was worth the trip. Amaizing food. People there are sooooo friendly. The made us feel at home. Part of our group from Charlotte, the rest from Boston. Was a great experience. Thanks to all the employees

We saw an ad on Facebook and decided to give this restaurant a shot and I’m so glad we did! We’ve been to a few restaurants that looked good but didn’t taste very authentic and lacked flavor. The food at this restaurant however, could not be more delicious and authentic ! The owners and staff are kind and deliver excellent service. Our family will definitely be coming by regularly 😋 10/10 !

Best chimis in GA hands down! Sandy the manager was really nice and Ruth our waitress was so patient and sweet. This is my new to go to spot.

Excellent! My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch takeout on our way back to Atlanta. We got the roast beef and roast chicken lunch special. The meat was literally falling off the bone and absolutely delicious. And the staff was super helpful, warm, and friendly. Highly recommend!

This place is across the street from us so we decided to give it a try. The menu had so many options and everything looked delicious! I decided to try their chicken w the mushroom sauce and it was amazing ! My mom got a soup and her soup was the perfect size and also great! We are very excited to know we have a great restaurant across the street and will definitely be coming back! I would recommend to anyone who wants to try something new!
