Down home southern cooking. I got the fried chicken and it was amazing!!!! My wife wanted a breakfast sandwich at lunch and they made it for her. The spaghetti was very good too. I don't think you can go wrong here between price ($) and amazing food. We will definitely be back!

We stopped here on the way to St. George Island, FL. No frills roadside restaurant has a loyal local following. Short staffed like everyone else these days, pack a little patience. I had the country ham, eggs, and grits with coffee. Really good. I heard that Peggy is no longer here but the current owner is carrying on.

Came in an hour before close and the food was absolutely perfect. I'm from south ga and Peggy's had the best plate of country food I can remember. It's getting harder to find good sweet tea but theirs was 10 out of 10. My only qualm was I wish they had t-shirts! I'll be back!

Loved this restaurant. Everyone was so friendly. Great tasting food at a great price. This is my new favorite restaurant. When I want home cooking but don’t want to cook this is where I’m going.

Stopped by for lunch as I was passing through town.
Beef tips, rice, sweet potatoes, black eyed peas, biscuit, and cornbread.
Doesn’t get better than here.
Everyone was friendly and helpful

We have pasted the restaurant many times but was not able to stop but it was out time to experience amazing perfect fried chicken and fried shrimp. My husband is not a coleslaw fan but this coleslaw won him over. The tea was sweet like sweet tea should. We will definitely be back with friend so that they can experience this wonderful food.

Best southern food I have ever had. The biscuits are so amazing you can’t just eat one. Fried pork chop roast beef and gravy are so delicious!

As southern as it gets. We ordered fried chicken, rice with gravy, smothered steak, Butterbean, black eyed peas and it was a drop left on our plates. Uhhm uhm good. Great service from Miss Louis.

This is a family style restaurant. The food is very good. Staff is friendly. You waiting in line to get your food. This process does not take long at all. There's always someplace to sit. You sit down with your food and the waitress brings you your drinks. Then you pay at the counter when you're done eating. We always stop here on our way back from North Carolina.

We drive out from Augusta to Wrens just to come to Peggy’s. It’s literally a straight shot down deans bridge. It can be a little bit of a drive but it’s pleasant and it’s worth it. Place is quaint, make your own parking outside. They have a revolving menu so depending on the day, items change. Today, for example, they offered sausages, fried pork chops, fried chicken and beef tips in gravy as the ‘meat’ and sides such as black eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, white rice, Lima beans, green beans etc. it also appears that they do ‘made-to-order’ items as well such as sandwiches and fries and most of those meals were like $5.99. Our two lunch meals ( beef tips/ gravy/white rice/cabbage/black eyed peas and 2 fried pork chops/Macncheese/cabbage/riceandgravy) and 2 sweet teas w free refills came out to $22. The employees are extremely friendly and it seems to be a local favorite. We watched an older gentleman leaving and hold the door for another older gentleman coming in, they both knew each other and you could tell they’ve been coming here forever! You can dine in or take out (I met my husband for lunch on his break while working in Wrens so we got to go containers but ate inside). They didn’t ask us to pay for our meal until we were finished which I thought was very nice of them. They also have an assortment of desserts as well. Good soul food, cheap, large portions and friendly employees. If you’re ever in this area, I’d definitely stop by!

What a wonderful restaurant to simple into on our trip back from North Georgia on the back roads. We were cheerfully geared when we got there and ordered from the buffet so we were eating in very little time. The food was all fresh and flavorful. I marked Peggy's on my map inside I am ever in that area again, I will surely stop by.

Peggy's is the typical hometown restaurant where everybody goes to eat and the staff knows everyone. We were greeted immediately on entry, it was obvious that we had never been there before. Our server gave us the scoop on what they had in store for lunch, how that worked and that we could still get breakfast. I opted for the breakfast, I had local sausage links, eggs cooked just the way I wanted them, bacon and grits. Everything I had was freshly cooked and delicious. My wife opted for the lunch, she got the fried chicken, field peas and mac n cheese. She let me try the fried chicken and it was amazing! You can bet that next time we pass through Wrens we will be going to Peggy's.

Road trip weekend! If you’re in the Wrens area of Georgia, be sure to stop in at Peggy’s Restaurant. Small town atmosphere meets big taste and service. People drive in from all over to come here and it shows why. Might have to keep this one on the list when we are in the area.

Stopped here on the way north to New Jersey. Overall the food was good and atmosphere is amazing. Reminds me of my local diner in my hometown growing up. Locals seem to frequent this place daily, and the owners and workers are friendly and busy. Don’t expect any gluten free options here as it’s as southern as you can get in food offerings. Lots of fried and breaded chicken and all of the fixings. If you have a gluten allergy you could swing with the burger without a bun. Just don’t get the salad with chicken on it, because the chicken is fried. (I made that mistake.) We’ll definitely visit again!

The food was great but the service could have been better. We loved the place and the atmosphere. We will eat there again if we ever go to wrens again!

Nice hometown restaurant with lightly seasoned comfort food. The food choices from the create your own plate bar are good. You can also order from a small menu. The service is outstanding. I was in with my special needs daughter, and they went above and beyond to assist me. The inside is small, but I got my plate to go. I'd recommend giving them a try.
