El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant

Our favorite place in Rocky Mount. Food, staff, and atmosphere all top notch. Absolutely some of the best food I've ever eaten.

This is one of the best Mexican style restaurants that I have enjoyed in years... The atmosphere is top notch, with Rail Road dinning-car flair... The excellent staff was attentive and well balanced in service...but the food... Incredible! Serving sizes is very generous and the shrimp in mind was huge and full of flavor... AND the Horchata is a must have... Absolutely the best I ever had... I cannot say enough good stuff about this place... Enjoy!

best MOLE I have had so far and they took care of my request to make my Enchiladas with Pastor instead of chicken and I have no problem with the up charge… they were full and absolutely delicious !! 🍍 🐷
Side note: the suggested margarita by the waitress(Veronica) that I had is not on the menu but the waitress knew what she was talking about when a asked a couple questions about tequila and she knew what the right one would be for me to enjoy… very attentive staff and you can tell the locals know where to go… wish we had more places like this back home …

Tried this second Mexican Restaurant in Rocky Mount. They converted train wagon into restaurant. Something different and attractive. It was not crowded on weekend as it was a Super Bowl day.

They serve Chips and Salsa before Main course. We ordered Chicken and Spinach Enchiladas and Chicken Burrito. Both dishes satisfied my taste. Quantity is quite enough for one person. Staff was polite and attentive. Ambiance was nice. Would love to visit again and again.

We just stumbled onto the El Mariachi Restaurant but we were so lucky to find it! If you like authentic Mexican food, this is a great place! Our food was delicious and our waitress, Yuri, was really friendly. Check it out for great food and a good time!

The food was amazing! The chicken fajitas were delicious! Our waitress Yuri was attentive and helpful! The Flan was the best we ever had. We totally recommend El Mariachi in Rocky Mount North Carolina! 👍🙂

Some of the best taco's i have had in years. The fresh guacamole was so good. The fajitas potions were big and the meat was tender, the pork was falling apart, the chorizo was there for a nice spicy kick. 5 out of 5 quality and service. Definitely would make it my go-to spot if i lived in the area. Well worth the stop if you are driving through the area.

1/1/2023 Update from last year: My family come here about twice a month. We have tried all the other Mexican restaurants in Rocky Mount but this is by far the best. The menus have been updated. Prices are up since last year but so is everywhere else. We love the clean and the great service. Yuri is always our fav!
First time here. My sister recommended it. The food and service…excellent. Restaurant is very clean.

Came to town for business from Durham and this place is LITERALLY THE BEST Mexican I've had since living in NC for 5 months!! Wish they had one closer to me, but love that it's local owned. Great service, great food, great prices. Very pleased!

This is a beautiful & newly opened establishment. I enjoyed my time here, the staff gave great service. The restaurant is clean and spacious.

The food is of a great quality and seasoned well. The menu has lots of options to choose from, you won’t be disappointed :)

Had a great time. Will definitely go back next time I am in Rocky Mount. Service was excellent. The food was the great. Pleasantly surprised. Recommend you try it if in town.

This was probably my favorite Mexican place I’ve been to top to bottom (and some of the best service I’ve ever had). I went here a few months ago with my girlfriend at the time and we had just wanted to stop by a place to eat on the way to the beach. This ended up being an incredibly cute place on the inside. I really liked how part of the restaurant kinda looked almost like a train car. We were served by this very nice lady whose name was Yara (or something similar, started with a Y) and she made sure we were very comfortable the entire time we were dining. She recommended the enchiladas poblanas and that was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I’ve never had mole poblana and it was amazing. My girlfriend got the enchiladas bandera which was also absolutely delicious. Our server was helpful throughout the whole experience and she definitely deserves a raise.

We tried El Mariachi for the first time tonight as a family. Walking in is such a beautiful experience in itself with their decor. We were greeted by the staff right away and seated immediately. Our waitress was great with our kids and explaining the dishes. The appetizers were amazing we loved the fresh guacamole, Queso, and salsa. Our main dishes came out quickly. The flavor is amazing you can taste each note of flavor. Highly recommend eating here, it’s a wonderful experience!

On a side note, my husband had the enchiladas pablano which is served with a mole sauce. This sauce takes 7+ hours to make and is made by the owners mother herself. Absolutely amazing flavor!!!

They updated their menu. The enchiladas pablano is still my favorite and my husband love the Street taco’s.

Service has definitely changed... staff is extremely friendly and the food is great... its nice to see that things can change for the better. Totally satisfied... a must stop if you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine.

Honestly, this was probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever ate at. They were so nice and it didn’t even take long for our food to come out. I got the AC Texano, and it was so good! I got mine w/o peppers and tomatoes because I don’t like them. As an appetizer we had spinach dip, and it was different than the spinach dip I’m used to but it was really good! For desert we had churros and when I say they were so delicious I mean it! They were cooked perfectly and the cinnamon, sugar, and caramel & chocolate syrup on them really made them even better.

I eat here often. At least twice a month or more. The staff is friendly. The place is clean and food is always great and hot and the staff is friendly and inviting. It's my favorite to eat at. I've tried several things on the menu and it's great 10/10.

We ordered take out from here and it was an awesome decision. We got the enchiladas banderas and enchiladas suizas for entrees and sopapillas for dessert. Everything was amazing. The prices were good and the portions were plentiful.

Severice us absolutely amazing. They're so sweet and intteract nicely. Best mexican food. Everything is home made. Bathroom clean. Food is perfectly salted. Interior is like your in mexico. The train is an amazing option to sit.

Amazing Mexican food! Stopped by on a road trip down to Florida and we were floored at the delicious food and attentive service. I’m still thinking about their dip sampler with guac, cheese and bean dip. That was simply to start. Also pictured below is their mole poblano enchiladas and flautas. Wish I lived nearby because I’d be visiting weekly!!!
