Highly recommend! Yes they may be short staffed (as advertised on their door) but the husband/wife duo are simply AMAZING! The food was spectacular and the drinks delicious! They are both hustlers so they a serving you faster than you'd expect when seeing a short staff and knowing there are only 2 people working. You have to try the steak hoagie with the mushrooms, onions, and peppers, TO DIE FOR! So good and we will be back and make sure we bring more people to experience the delicious food and great service! Picture for you to see how amazing dinner was 😃

Food was awesome and service was off the chart. More food than I could eat and cooked to perfection. And the beers were ice cold and never was running on empty. The chef and bartender were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon

We went to the thirsty bull for my daughter's birthday. I had been seeing it on Google as the place to go. We went in, every one was very nice to us. Waitress came right over.took our order. We had to wait for a while. Come to find out that two chefs quit on him( Sharif) and wait staff was short staffed. These poor people were waiting on a restaurant full of people. The owner came around the bar and apologized to everyone and thanked us all for being so patient. When the food came out, it was so worth the wait. The salmon was so tender and tasty. The food was awesome. Sharif, you have nothing to worry about. You will do very well with this restaurant. Thank you so much for our first and not last experience at the thirsty bull.

Went last night. Service was okay, drinks were great. 2/3 steaks were good. Will be returning on a Tuesday. Ordered pink Whitney starburst drink. I def need the recipe. Boyfriend ordered Pittsburgh. He said it was delicious. Guy I’m assuming was the owner was great at the end. Discounted meal for small errors, that we didn’t complain about, he just seemed to take notice. We were shocked but did not complain nonetheless. Seriously though, the starburst recipe?

Since returning to The Thirsty Bull after 2 years, I'm happy to have given them another chance. I've had the sirloin steak twice, which is incredibly tasty, tender and cooked to perfection. While they have a small bar, the cocktails are better than most restaurants I've patronized in recent months. The live music on Friday is a great way to bring customers while enjoying a delicious meal. The staff and owner are very friendly and demonstrate a desire to ensure that every customer is having a great experience. Thank you to the staff for ensuring a great time!! Sharif (sp?) and James, you guys rock!!

We wanted to try something new. After a google search of restaurants in the area The Thirsty Bull popped up. The name alone drew me in and I wanted to know more. We decided to check it out. I'm super glad that we did. He had a steak and I tried the Bayou that has chicken, sausage, pasta, other stuff covered with a great tasting sauce. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good. We had a great time. We'll definitely be back!

We were in town for baseball tournament. Googled and found this restaurant. We decided to give it a try. Glad we did! Friendly staff, good food, especially the fries, and my grandson loved the Mac n cheese. Give it a try. Very reasonable prices for family and groups.

Oysters were plentiful and delicious and the service was friendly and prompt.

I don’t normally like mussels, but I tried them on the recommendation of a friend, and they were tasty.

Told the server that we liked our cocktail sauce strong and she gave us extra horseradish on the side which was much appreciated.

Good selection of beers too!

What a great experience! The food was fantastic and the drinks were just as good! Demetrey was our server and he was awesome! Attentive just enough to make sure we were good without being overbearing! I got the salmon and my husband got the new york strip. We were happy with both! I have to recommend the asparagus because omg it is delicious!! I cannot recall the bartenders name but she makes wonderful drinks! I have to recommend the liquid marijuana!!! Sooo good! My husband and I went here for our 11th anniversary and were not disappointed! Thank you so much for a lovely evening!!

We stopped as a half way point between our home town and visiting Florida, Wow great experience! Live entertainment. Great food, awesome prices! I must mention the owner ran to a local supermarket to get us fresh jalapeños, as one bar owner to the another the staff was over the top !

Came here for the first time with a friend. She got a grilled shrimp po boy that she said was so delicious and it had a bunch of shrimp on it and endless fries that came with it (Order crispy!) I had the raw oysters. Very good! The horse radish was so great. Our server Megan was extremely kind and attentive. She made our first experience here pleasant and will be back to try more on the menu.

I normally don’t give reviews but I saw the previous 1 star review and wanted everyone to know my experience and for it to not leave a bad taste or deter anyone. My husband and I went there tonight (a few days past opening night) and I was very pleased! Very good prices for good quality steaks. I order my steaks rare and when the owner (who was cooking/training) asked if I wanted it Pittsburgh style I was shocked as most places won’t even attempt anything on open flame. As I said this was within the first week of opening. New employees learning new protocol so I don’t feel as that should reflect a bad score. I will definitely be returning soon.

We had a party of 16 on a Saturday night. The manager was very accommodating and so very nice. The entire staff was super nice. The food was EXCELLENT!!! The restaurant was very busy, but they took great care of us. I do not live in this town. But if ever traveling here again, I will go back for more! Highly highly recommend!!! Thank you Thirsy Bull for a wonderful dinner for my family and friends! ❤❤

On a boiling hot Friday, this amazing place was exactly what I needed. The concept of “Friendly service” is laughable... I felt like these people were my long lost family members and I was an unaware lottery winner!!! The burger was absurdly delicious and fries!!! Cmon. Slap yo pretty momma good!!! Wish I could have had a beer. But nobody got time for that (yet). Thanks again Shannon and Chef Corbett for your tremendous efforts to deliver a great burger, welcoming experience in a clean and bright environment. See ya again shortly.

Fantastic bar/grill with a hometown feel but no lack of sophistication. Lobster spinach artichoke dip, home made onion rings, and family recipe Alfredo are among the many awesome dishes here, and the drinks don't disappoint. Stop in, stay a while, it's worth your time!

I ordered a shrimp Po boy with grilled shrimp, fried oysters. Vince made my order. The service and meal was well worth a return trip with my colleagues as long as the owner pays the staff accordingly. Incredible job, guys. See you on my next cheat day

Me and my girlfriend went there to celebrate and we had a great time. The oysters were delicious and the service was friendly. Owner seemed very friendly and came up to our table.

Now I would like to provide a couple constructive criticisms. I like my oysters raw and one thing they did great was keep the liquere in the half shell, but the oyster itself was still being held on by the connective muscle which causes me to have to shuck each one before I ate them. A possible solution to this would be having the shuckers do this before hand so it’s ease of mind. Another cool thing would be kind of like a pamphlet on the table that has steps on how to shuck an oyster properly. Would give more of like a hands on experience to customers.

The second thing which was the least of my concerns was the server was a tad late sometimes but she has many tables. I’m assuming this is just because the place is new and they do not have the staff for the amount of business. I noticed the hiring signs so the owner is aware of this and is trying to fix it.

Overal great experience, great food, just wanted to provide a couple issues I noticed and some possible solutions. Will be back for sure.

The Thirsty bull is a great place to dine at as well drink at. Friday nights usually revolve around live music and menu specials. Every other day of the week they have great deals and some lip smacking cuisine! Feel free to enjoy a new local legend!

We come in about once a week sometimes service may be slow but all the time the food is good. It's definitely worth the wait!!!! Not to mention they have live entertainment on Friday nights... Come out and support local businesses in Rocky Mount NC
