Salvador Cocina Authentic Mexican Food

After spending slightly less than 30 seconds admiring the “World’s Largest Peanut” located at the corner of Durant’s City Hall, we were worn out and hungry. Fortunately, about 200’ from the legendary statue is an excellent little Tex-Mex joint, the Salvador Cocina. (Tex-Mex , NOT Salvadoran) It is in a small historic building just a few away on 3rd Ave. Nicely decorated, comfortable, tables, no booths and bar seating if you like.
#9 for me, relleno and a taco. My wife chose the one enchilada Lunch #11. Everything was filled with well-seasoned ground beef. A big beef fille relleno and a big taco on my plate. The enchilada had the good authentic red chili sauce. The salsas (picante and mild) were tomato based but well-seasoned; adequate. The service was excellent!
A neat place to have a meal. We enjoyed our visit. Oh, don’t miss the peanut.

I had the Mariachi Tacos and my wife had the Durant Plate. Both dishes were excellent! Absolutely loved their salsa!! The waitress was nice and friendly! She answered all our questions. Love the old building and decor!

I love it!!! They had their new relocation opening today and it’s still the same as the old location 😋 and it was 27 for us 2 !!

Deliciously authentic food. The house salsa is awesome. Service is friendly and efficient. Fun remodel of a classic downtown building.

Shrimp fajitas were excellent! New location downtown is a nice upgrade. Nice, cozy atmosphere and courteous staff. Wonderful salsa!

We enjoyed a private party at Salvador’s. Jose and the rest of the family/staff where overwhelmingly kind for our large group. They catered to our every whim. What a great family restaurant for your next lunch, dinner, or outing. The food was great! Check out their new location on 3rd.

I always love eating here! Our waitress last night was just the sweetest and she really kept our table full! Couldn't ask for a better environment for a nice dinner for my family of 5!

I had chicken enchiladas which were really good. My husband had the 10 inch burrito and it was loaded with fajita chicken. It was huge and he ate the whole thing because it was so good!

I had three chicken tostadas. My wife had a chimichanga, pinto beans and rice. The two entrée tasted very very good 👍 😋

Food was really good.. had the street tacos and the white queso dip with a side of rice and beans. I didn't catch the waiters name but, he was a really cool guy. Will go back.

Absolutely outstanding food! Literally everything there was delicious. Tiny place with BIG flavor! Be sure and stop in while in Durant.
