Larema Coffee House

Can’t say enough good things about this location! Very clean, great food and drinks. They have a neat little antique vault for their beer offerings. My wife and I can’t wait to go back!

Larema is hands down our favorite thing in Rocky Mount! The coffee and food is always incredible and reasonably priced, but I love the atmosphere most. The staff makes you feel so welcome and the space is always buzzing with life and community. Cultivating that sense of community is clearly important to Larema which is part of what makes this such a special place. I always stop by the local gift shelves to see what’s new; a great spot to pick up some local goods for gifts for others or yourself! I love all of the plants they have inside, it really makes the space so cozy and inviting. Last thing I’ll mention is their beer vault - since the building was an old bank it’s a literal beer vault! So cool! We love you, Larema!! Thanks for giving us our favorite spot!

We had to move to Roanoke Rapids in June '23 from the Pacific Northwest, and this is the closest, absolute best latte in the world to our house now. Worth the 40-minute drive.

Definitely 5 stars for this coffee shop including Taste, Service, Atmosphere, People, Structure and everything. I am not a big coffee but still wanted to have coffee at this place. This is the first time I visited the shop. Located at a prime corner location in downtown. Ordered Cappuccino coffee. They served coffee at my table. It’s a big mug and very well made. I loved it. People are very really nice and helpful. Wanted to some more time but couldn’t make it. But I would love to visit again and again. Thanks for the great coffee.

Lucked into finding this on a road trip. Absolutely amazing pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk. They lots of vegan and gluten-free options for baked goods. LOVED the atmosphere, too. Five stars!

A hidden gem downtown Rocky Mount. The staff was amazing. They also have a beer vault that they created since this place use to be a bank. Put them on your list...you must visit

Kevin has done an awesome job with this place! Larema is a staple in downtown Rocky Mount and has proven itself worthy of taking the place of big box coffee houses like Starbucks. I say that because I literally stop going to the Starbucks in Rocky Mount because of the angusof their coffees and special drinks because every time I come here my coffee always taste the same. If you want great coffee and an awesome atmosphere come here! You will not regret it!

The service and the people are amazing! The atmosphere is wonderful if you just want to work from there for the day. And chill and enjoy a chia and a book.

This is a great coffee house. The atmosphere is great down to the creaking wood floor. Interior is whimsical industrial. Lots of character and uniqueness. The coffee is good. I actually had my very first cup of coffee in my life, today. I tried their drop coffee, black and enjoyed it. Could taste notes of chocolate and it was rich with no bitterness. Only a few grounds in the bottom of the cup. Not sure if I wanted cream and sugar in it given that I have not drank coffee. They brought to me at the table since they do not have a fixing bar right now due to covid precautions. They have muffins cheesecake, waffles and wraps for sale. There is also beer on the menu and you can visit their beer vault. It all looks good but we just came for coffee today. Staff is nice and friendly. Mask is optional unless you have not been vaccinated. Wonderful place to relax with friend or a book!

My partner and I discovered Larema Coffee House while visiting my brother in Elm City. We fell in love with everything about it ... the eclectic and pleasing decor, the spaciousness, its historic setting, the friendly and engaging service (hats off to Ebony, Kam, Lydia, and especially Karo), the pleasant and friendly owner Kevin, and, of course, the extraordinary coffees and food. The flavored lattes are the best we've ever had anywhere (featuring homemade syrups), the scrumptious compose-your-own breakfast sandwiches served on homemade croissants or buns, etc. We loved it so much that we went 3 times over our 10 day stay. Our only regret is that there isn't a Larema in our own town. We'd surely be regulars. Such an amazing place in all respects!

TRULY UNIQUE

This was one of the last stop on a coffee tour that lasted 6 days. Included several stops between Florida and DC.

If I lived closer, I’d come back everyday. Good food and great coffee. I love that there are plants filling each windowsill - creates an overall very cozy atmosphere.

There are several great gluten free options including dessert!

Best coffee shop in Rocky Mount. Clean and friendly. Drinks can be a little slow. That would be my only area of improvement. Will be back often.

A real coffee shop with great breakfast and ambiance in an old bank. Hope Rocky Mount can be revitalized by this gem!

A lovely community space to share coffee or other unique beverages with a friend. We enjoyed a delicious Chicken Salad sandwich for lunch. The renovation of a former bank is so spacious and inviting. Stop in to see Kevin, the coffee expert.

This place is WONDERFUL! Trifecta for me! My latte was amazing, they make all their syrups in house (homemade pumpkin spice syrup?!?!) and it is very cozy inside for me to work. The staff were extremely friendly and I liked the shopping items as well!

Excellent stop, worth coming off the highway for great service and better coffee than you'll find at Starbucks. In a cool old bank too.

Still brilliant. What a find. We stopped here on the way from Florida to DC last year and chose Rocky Mount as our late night stopover on our way South again this year in the hope that they'd be open despite the ongoing pandemic (they are open Thursday to Sunday). Great ambience, nice people, excellent coffee and the dense seeded bread they use for the toast is to die for. Please support this place if you can!

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Larema during our drive down south. We had plans to stopover in Rocky Mount to see what this town was all about and we found this gem of a place. It is a quaint coffee house in a historic old bank building. Very spacious and cozy, they serve a variety of a small plates and of course coffee. Their avocado toast sandwich is fantastic and I had their seasonal coconut and carrot soup which was extremely delicious. Service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend eating here to anyone who's in and or near Rocky Mount.

Awesome spot! It is located in an old bank with an amazing and relaxing interior. Their coffee is delicious, and I also loved the pastries from local bakeries. Plus, the baristas are super friendly and welcoming!
