I loved the seafood combo with french fries & onion rings! So good!
My companion said she wished the chicken fried steak had been a bit crisper- was just a little soggy. Although the gravy was really delicious, she missed the crunch!
Our server was awesome and attentive! We'll be back again soon

Food, service, and atmosphere was fabulous! We had the breakfast enchiladas and smoked sausage breakfast! Both was large portions more than either of us could eat. We got a bottle of the sauce to take home with us, it had a great flavor!

This was our first visit. We stopped in for an early dinner; no wait at all, seated immediately and served quickly. Melinda was our server and she was amazing, so friendly and helpful. My spouse and I shared a half-price appetizer of Tumbleweeds. We also shared our meal, the Famous 4 Enchiladas with fries and slaw. We were both stuffed and completely satisfied when we left. Everything was delicious! We can't wait to come back and try some of the other items on the menu. They have a veggie plate and they serve breakfast all day, so even our kids will certainly find something to love too. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable. We will be back soon!

Met family for breakfast before my drive back home. Our waitress was wonderful because they serve their OJ in a frosty mug, she waited until I got there to bring it out, pretty cool. She was very attentive to us but watching the whole staff, it was pretty much the way all the staff took care of the customer's. We munched on chips & their house sauce while we waited to order & then for our food, that was the best sauce i have ever put on a chip. Wish i had brought a bottle home. I had the Enchilada Breakfast Omelette, oh so good. Certain "high end" Mexican restaurants here in OKC could benefit from taking lessons from them. Not sure of the prices. Cousin wouldn't let me pay for mine. Loved the kiddy rides, they reminded me of the ones I used to ride outside grocery stores as a kid. Sure wish there was 1 here in Oklahoma City or Edmond, Oklahoma.

We went with my kids and we were all pretty needy this time. That poor waittress worked her booty off, and did a great job. Always love their chips and sauce!

These people can cook! Everything was a-mazing. Loved the atmosphere, and the service was soooo friendly. We loved everyone. Next time we are in town we will stop in again 💗

The food was just awful, and the service was ok, and the atmosphere was good. I ordered the chicken fried chicken + onion rings. Literally, the batter for the steak was terrible, and taste was terrible . The onion rings were ok, but the coleslaw didn't taste like slaw. Me and my parents aren't coming back.

First time here but would come back any chance I get. Was food like my grandma made. Absolutely enjoyed it.

Hard to beat a favorite restaurant, still open and thriving after so many years. Service staff is friendly and efficient.

Great atmosphere. The food was served nice and hot. Very good service. I had not been here before. I always go by when I get my horse feed but never stopped until today. Not disappointed.

I just have to rave on a server named Marla that waited on us Last Thursday night, January 4th at Pioneer on Maplewood. We were a big group of 27 members of the Wichita Falls Singles Going Dutch group. She was on point with the orders as well as making sure everyone was taken care of that evening. I can’t say enough of her attentiveness to our group that evening. We will be back! ❤😃

Marla did a great job taking care of our very large group and the food didn’t disappoint. Famous enchiladas are always a good choice!

It has been awhile since I've been back to the Pioneer of Texas Restaurant in Wichita Falls, Texas, and I must say that I'm glad that I came back as they remodeled it big time on the outside and inside. With the pandemic still going on, the restaurant went ahead and still implemented the social distancing procedures with the staff wearing masks with the exception of the menus. The service was superb with refills of chips and salsa. I'm a breakfast man myself and was impressed that they have it all day long, which made getting the breakfast burrito so much better. A five star restaurant that focuses on the Texas Culture.

Always enjoy hitting the spots that locals flock to, and this one did not disappoint. Had the lunch special with 2 cheese enchiladas, fries and a beef taco. For appetizer I highly recommend the Tumble Weed, contains taco meat, beans, cheese, jalapeno which are rolled into a ball and cooked. Plated with cheese sauce and house chili, mmm good. The decor takes you back in time with juke boxes at each booth and movie pictures/posters of old western movies and actors. Pleasant place to dine and enjoy all that is around you. Looking forward to our next visit so I can try other menu items. I recommend you give this place a shot, bet you enjoy it as much as I did.

Ummm...have you ever eaten so much that you disgusted with yourself!?! Well, I jus did, jus like Thanksgiving. Was pleasantly surprised, that dish actually pretty good. Added cheese to it too. Healthy portions, historic western decor and I believe it was ms Angela, she was so incredibly sweet and helpful. Finally...milk served in frozen mugs, omgaaa!!!

We wanted chicken fried steak so bad! This place was delicious.
Our server was very sweet, the dinner was huge and we had some homemade pie for dessert.

Pointer is a great place for old style dining. I recommend the red taco plate!

Had a Birthday luncheon with my daughter, I had the Chef Salad 🥗😋

Really great atmosphere with antique things on the walls. Best pancakes anywhere by far! They say they are made with buttermilk but none like I've ever had! So fluffy and moist!! I also has bisquit and gravy which was equally good! Service was great too!
