Recently relocated to Lexington, I embarked to find a new primary vet for our two beloved doggos. Concerned about our oldest pup Harper, who wasn't her usual self, we initially scheduled an appointment with Cherokee Trail for the following week, their earliest available appointment. As Harper's symptoms worsened, a quick call prompted an immediate visit, where the receptionists, techs, and the exceptional Dr. Dez provided unparalleled care. Transparent about procedures and pricing, they crafted a wellness plan ensuring Harper's longevity of life.

Post-visit, Harper's condition took a turn for the worse. A call the next morning resulted in an immediate invitation to bring her in again. In a twist of fate, emergency surgery was deemed necessary to remove her infected uterus. Dr. Dez swiftly assembled a skilled team to perform the life-saving procedure, and Harper emerged beautifully from surgery, currently on the road to recovery.

In gratitude, I can confidently say that Cherokee Trail Animal Hospital has become my forever vet for all my pets as long as I a am a Lexington resident. A solid 10 out of 10 stars – undeniably the finest team to entrust with the care of your cherished fur babies! We are forever grateful

My dog Nakita just went here for the first time after moving for her annual. Dr. Drye was amazing, as was everyone at the front desk and the vet tech we saw. I could not have asked for a more compassionate and understanding staff with a very anxious dog.

Dr Ginger Macaulay is wonderful and has been our vet for over 37 years. We just love and trust her. Cindy is awesome too. She is always my go-to when I have questions or just need advice.

My last dog and my current dog have both had a lot of strange and rare medical conditions. I moved from out of state to here in 2018 and have been using them ever since. They are phenomenal. The staff is always great, super friendly, and is willing to do anything to help out you and your furry 4-legged best friends. I will forever recommend them to anyone looking for a vet. These vets are not afraid to refer you to a specialist, and will admit if they don't have a lot of info on a particular condition. Dr. Keisler is currently treating my dog Loki and has bent over backwards to help me find a treatment plan that is working for us. I have heard they are a bit pricier than other vets in the area, but I cannot confirm that for sure. However, cost is not important when you cannot beat the knowledgeable, friendly, and caring staff that provides top notch care. Facility is also clean, and their boarding staff is amazing as well!

We love Cherokee Trail Vet! Dr. Strom and Linda and the entire staff are friendly, professional and they love our pets. Dr. Strom has taken care of both our Aussie sire/dam and 2 litters. The prices are reasonable and the service is outstanding! We changed vets because of cost deferences and we are very happy we did! Very pleased!

This was first time seeing this vet office. I was extremely happy with Cherokee Trail Vet.
I was able to be in the room and Dr. Keisler was awesome. She answered all my questions even some of a different pet she has never seen. She is patient, kind and very knowledgeable. The Office staff was very friendly and great. Cherokee Vet didn’t get afraid of my sweet big baby boy or judge him because of his breed. I have definitely found a forever vet office for my fur babies. Will definitely recommend them to friends ,family or anyone looking for a great place to go.

I can’t say enough good things about CHVH especially one of the owners, Dr. Boyette. I started bringing my FIV+ cat there when I adopted him in January 2016 when he was 4 months old. He started with Dr. Keisler who is great and very knowledgeable. Dr. Boyette performed a biopsy on Olivers ear in 2016 to help me determine what a bump was, and he was so great with my anxiety in the situation. Fast forward to when I moved upstate in February 2021 and I had a difficult time finding a trusted vet here the way I trusted CHVH with Oliver’s care for 5 years. I drove the 1.5 hours each way December 2022 for Dr. Boyette to perform Oliver’s dental cleaning and 6-7 extractions - everything went beautifully and again he was great with calming my nerves over the surgery. While doing so, he also noticed pododermatitis on Oliver, something no other vet noticed or mentioned, and helped me figure out the best course was to monitor with respect to his FIV treatment could do more harm than good. In March when his vet here completed blood work and I emailed Dr. Boyette the labs for a second look at areas that concerned me he reached out to discuss. Oliver is now 8 and having something serious going on and his vet here has referred him to internal medicine and opthamologist but of course I turned to Dr. Boyette to see if these are areas he could help me with as I trust his opinion and knowledge so much. I emailed the office last night and at 10:20 am today Dr. Boyette already called me. I can’t express how much that meant to me, especially when after the call I saw the office emailed me saying he was out of the office until Friday and wanted to know if I wanted someone else to call me - for him to take the time to call when he wasn’t even in speaks absolute volumes to the compassion he has for animals. I am not sure if anyone is still reading this novel of a review. But I just have to express my sincere gratitude for Dr. Boyette and how he is truly a one of a kind veterinarian. It can be very difficult to find a vet that is compassionate, personable, and knowledgeable in FIV and Dr. Boyette is that and more.

We recently moved 40 minutes away from this animal hospital and still drive for visits because you can’t beat the reliability, responsiveness and professionalism. When we walk in, we feel like family and like we are the only ones being seen in the office even though there are more. My dog has anxiety and is friendly, but doesn’t love her paws and ears being touched. They are so patient with her and won’t force her to do things (like clipping ALL her nails-they do what they can and charge me accordingly). They make her feel more comfortable and do a great job with handling her. They provide tips when I have questions of how to continue keeping her healthy. While it does cost a little more than a local animal hospital, it’s worth the care and compassion they provide my dog and I when we visit. They are amazing and I highly recommend them! Just remember...you get what you pay for! 💗🎉🥳👍🏻👏

The people who work here genuinely love animals. It is so nice to be greeted by smiles when you walk in the door. My Yorkie girl is going to have her teeth cleaned and a cyst removed. They took her blood sample and gave her shot.. she does not do well with pills. The office is extremely clean and nicely decorated.

The doctors at Cherokee Trail have always taken excellent care of our pups. Love the doctors and staff. We also love their boarding facility and so does our old girl, Chloe. She always hops out of the car and makes a bee line to the door! So thankful to know that when we have to leave her she is happy and well cared for! Thanks Cherokee doctors and staff!

This was our first visit with our boys, Oreo & Luke. The vet got them back on time and gave them full checkups. Happy to say they are very well. We liked the vet very much. The place is very clean & nice with a modern look. The front desk receptionist was very nice. I think we will really be happy at Cherokee Trail.

I want to start out by saying each and everyone of the vets here are awesome. They take their time to answer any questions/concerns, go over home care instructions in details, etc. Also, the staff here is AMAZING! Big shout out to Lisa yesterday for being so generous and taking care of my baby boy Briscoe. People like you is what makes the world go round. Highly recommend this vet to any family/friend. Lastly to all, nowhere is cheap anymore so if you are willing to pay more for excellent service for you and your precious animal, then highly recommend going here!

We are new to the area and did not have a vet for our kitty and doggy. I found Cherokee Trail Vet Hospital, and I'm so glad I did. They are so good with the animals, very patient, loving, and kind. They are also great at explaining everything they are doing and why. We are very happy and fortunate we found this vet for our fur babies and will continue to go for many years to come.
