We had to make the hard decision to put our gentle giant, Cletus, to sleep. Dr. Pike and everyone at VCA were very kind and allowed us the time we needed to say our goodbyes. We will continue using them with our other pets.

I love taking my two dogs to VCA and more importantly, my dogs love it too. The staff is always super nice and accommodating and I really appreciate that they seem genuinely happy to see my babies. They’re not the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for! They are very responsive, caring, and work around my schedule. I’ve even called for same day appointments on my lunch break and they find time to squeeze me in. We appreciate all the time and care you’ve given us!

We had to put our 13 year old yorkie to sleep yesterday. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to help me cope with it. They let me hold my baby till the bitter end. They let me say my last goodbye alone with him. I will never forget the caring and passionate people at the clinic. God bless you! Kismo passed over the rainbow bridge peacefully thanks to you!

Ellie is my 5 year old morkie. Two weeks ago today (8/7) she had a seizure or I thought she did. That next day I took her to VCA. Come to find out she had a mild case of anemia and her platelets were extremely low (I think the number was 15 or 17k) her red count was also low and white count high. The Dr. at the time (can't remember her name, sorry) she found out that Ellie has an autoimmune disorder that would attack her blood cells. They put her on meds to slow down her immune system so her body can start healing.

That Thursday she was not looking any better so I booked another appointment for that friday (8/11) morning. This is when Dr. Spears examine Ellie. Dr. Spears ordered another blood test and she was in far worse condition. Her red count was 19% (that's low) normal is 30 to 50% ish. So, Dr. Spears increased her meds and added another. We were hoping this would kick in throughout the coming weekend. Ellie was scheduled for another blood test that coming Monday (8/14) to check her red count.

This was the weekend I thought my baby girl was going to pass. That Sunday (8/13) morning around 3am Ellie was passed out in the middle of my hallway. She was motionless and breathing shallow. All I could do was to make her as comfortable as possible and to make sure she knew I was with her. Ellie fought through and made it to the vet that Monday (8/14)

Dr. Spears did her red count test and it came back dangerously low at 13% down from 19% the Friday before. This is when decisions needed to be made. Dr. Spears recommend a blood transfusion for Ellie. This was the best possible way for Ellie to have a positive outcome. So, that Monday I left my girl in VCAs hands and they would keep her over night after the blood transfusion.

Tuesday 8/15, Ellie was full of life and ready to fight her battle to being a healthy dog again. Her red count was 33% up from 13% tge day before, and Dr. Spears wanted to do another blood test that coming Friday (8/18) to see if her procedure and meds worked. So, that friday we received great news, her red count was 37%. Dr. Spears was thrilled and I was as well. He wanted to do one more blood test that coming Monday (8/21) to make sure everything stays looking good over the weekend.

Today (8/21) Ellies red count is 42%. Dr. Spears feels next week I can lower Ellies meds and make one more blood test 2 weeks from today and if everything looks good Ellie will be taken off her meds and be a healthy happy pup again.

Sorry this was so long but really wanted to share how VCA callfield animal hospital took care of my baby girl. I have to give the biggest thanks to Dr. Spears for his honesty and professionalism on how he treated Ellies condition. Ellie wanted to live and VCA gave her that chance and we couldn't be more grateful.

Thank You VCA you saved my dogs life!

My kitten was injured earlier this morning and they were the only clinic in town that accepted her as a walk-in on super short notice despite her not being a patient with them. The staff was very caring on the phone as I explained what happened and they were able to get her in to be seen as soon we got there. Thank you to the VCA team for helping us and for making sure our kitten was okay.

Simply one of the best teams in town. Been going to them for years to take care of my pets. They have went above and beyond on numerous occasions. Dr. Spears, Dr. Bruce and the whole team truly care about their patients. Highly recommend.

I was extremely please with my visit today! I called around to several vets and vca was the most polite clinic that I spoke to. I was able to get a wellness check for my cat quickly. The visit itself was amazing! The vet helped me feel at ease and walked me through everything I needed to know. They were amazing with my cat. I will be coming back for a very long time! Thank you!

Very people and most importantly pet friendly. I have a large breed dog, approximately 135 lbs, that will have to be kenneled while i am in the hospital. She is very spoiled which i take full credit for and this will be the first time that we have ever been separated from each other except when i work. Not sure who it will be harder for, me or her. Have explained how spoiled she was and they reassured me that she would continue to get spoiled there. For pet parents like myself, that was just what i needed to hear. The facility is beautiful and most importantly to me, Clean and organized. Wouldn't mind staying there myself, and very reasonably priced. That was a nice surprise too. Would recommend to anyone who loves their pets and wants them pampered in their absence.

I've been going to Callfield for about 2 years and have always enjoyed my experience. They are prompt with appointments and they see exotic pets. Staff is always friendly and remembers us and have always worked to get us in in a timely way. They even stayed late and didn't charge an emergency fee when our dog was vomiting and I called saying I was on my way and we were going to get there 15 mins after closing. They may be a little more expensive than other vets, but I am more than willing to pay for the peace of mind and expertise of the Callfield vets! So happy with our service here.

Love taking our animals here. Never a bad experience. Always handled professional. Whenever we go out of town we board our dogs here too, and know that they are well taken care of. For people looking for a great vet to take your babies too, look no further.

The people who work here very friendly and caring. My wife lost her service dog a little bit ago. All the people involved were very supportive. And what we have never experienced they sent us a simpathy cards signed by all show us there were caring and understanding. We take all our fur babies to see them. I would never trust any other just for the service alone they are worth it to us. Thank you Callfield team. Lots of love from us to you all.

We’ve been taking our pets to this vet for as long as I’ve had pets! We’ve brought our dogs in for emergency care and the staff are always timely in their care. One day they were very busy but still managed to squeeze in time for an emergency dental surgery rather than turn my poor dog away. Brush your dogs teeth; some need more preventative care than others!

Thank you for your compassionate service.

They are not my normal vet but I wanted a second opinion on my dog and they were able to get me in the same day that I called them. Everyone there was friendly and the vet made sure to take time and answer all of the questions that I had. Wonderful caring people at this place. Highly recommend.

I just moved into to town and my ornery 8 year old dog was having some issues that I felt needed professional attention. I called around and these guys were the only office that could see him today. There was an initial fee ($39) to hold our appointment because we were not established; however, the fee was deducted from the total visit cost.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Dr. Spears (female) was the Vet who saw my dog today and she was so calm and kind to Ernie, even though he wanted nothing to do with her. She even got on the floor so that he was more comfortable in the new environment. She was thorough and explained everything to us, even offering different treatment options depending on the budget I had to work with. I feel confident in this office and will certainly bring all of my current and future pets here for any routine or emergency treatments.

Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Spears are some of the best. They always do a good job putting me at ease with my puppies and are super kind! Love them and all the VCA staff. I definitely see myself working with them for a while.

What a superb animal hospital.. All personnel are the most courteous that I have had the pleasure to deal with. I also would like to extend a very special thanks a a dear friend and my personal vet, and that would be Dr Clay Clark. I or we have had him for our vet for many years and he has really helped us through some sad times we have had with 2 very special pets we had. hat an exceptional vet and individual. Sure hope he doesn't retire anytime soon. A great many thank you's go out to him...

My family has always taken all of our dogs here, and we've always been extremely pleased! All of the doctors are always super helpful, as well as the nurses and receptionists. One of my dogs was extremely sick with Parvo, and he wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for their expertise. They even called to check on him multiple times, which I thought was super sweet! I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else in town for veterinary care.

We took our boxer Zeus to CCAC last week for his first checkup and everyone was extremely friendly. Zeus enjoyed going for his first time and didn't even mind getting his first shots. What really impressed me was someone from the office called this morning to check on Zeus. Asked how he was doing and let me know they were available anytime we needed. Amazing place!

Had an emergency with my puppy and they kept me calm and really did their best to help my lil one. She is on the road to getting better btw!! They are the nicest most caring group of people I've encountered and I'm so glad they were recommended.
