Blue West Campground

It's a great view steep access to the lake. Blue West Chimney Hollow. Great for stargazing, camping. Take plenty of bug spray.

If you would like to me alone in a quiet place this is the right camping ! Beautiful views and small hikes . It doesn’t have showers I suggest for you to bring your own or drive 40 minutes to shower in the other campgrounds . Be cause with the snakes on swimming in the lake

Really out there and quite a drive. Worth it if you want to be alone. We used it as a place to boondock in our 30 ft travel trailer for a few nights. Arrive before sunset, some of the little trails off to the road are a bit bumpy. Watch for mesquite or you'll get a flat. No easy access to the lake but great views.

Great only if you have a boat!! Kinda sad we came out all this way and couldn’t get in the water😏

Boondocked here in our RV for two nights while passing through. It was quiet while we were there, and we had a good view of the lake, which was beautiful. The wind was hellacious and it was cold, but that's to be expected this time of year. During the summer this is probably the place to be!

Had a great time and the park host are really helpful and friendly. We will be back soon as able. Great help like that is there is hard to find. It's a major reason people come back.

It a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Everything is spotlessly clean.

Pretty nice state run campground surrounding Boutte lake not many direct waterfront campsites but the facilities here are pretty top-notch including showers flush toilets covered playgrounds covered picnic tables no suit no sewage at the campsite but there is a dump station there are several stores within biking area it’s a bit in the middle of nowhere but the water is really nice and the beach is a really nice great for a one night stop or if you have a boat a few days more

Nice place for a picnic or weekend camp. Beautiful views of Lake Meredith, and far less crowded than the campgrounds on the other side of the lake. Lots of grasshoppers here, however. Gets pretty windy too. Oh, and it's free.

Cool camping, but primitive (which is what I wanted and expected). Beautiful views but absolutely no way to walk down to the water from the campsites. Boat ramp nearby but I didn't check it out. Only 1(vault) toilet, which probably isn't a big deal for most. No fire rings either. Roads were muddy and rutted out from recent heavy rains.

Not close to the lake but we still had fun.

Lots of nature crawling around. But, pretty decent place. Restrooms are all around. Water access here and there.

A good place to spend the day. I would like to see better picnic areas. This might happen if more people make use of the area.

Damn good spot to pitch a tent.

Very quiet, and calm.
