The Putnam Inn

Crab legs on the buffet never ran out. Tried several other things and they were OK but we were here for the crab legs. Amanda was amazing including clearing the table for us multiple times and never let my drink be empty. Worth a drive!

Putnam inn catered our wedding and Robin and Kenna did a fantastic job! My partner and I did a trip and stopped by the actual restaurant to eat and we saw Robin again! I was kinda excited and I thanked her for her work catering and she was so kind and nice! Great service from Robin and Kenna! Robin served us at the restaurant and she was a delight! Thanks!

Friday and Saturday Night check out the seafood buffet $42 a person, but if you like crab legs, you definitely get your bang for your buck. Definitely worth the drive to check it out.

This place has the best food EVER! It is all prepared fresh on-site, even all the amazing desserts. The salad bar is great and the hot bacon dressing is unique. I always consider skipping the salad bar and save room for the main entree but the salad bar is great! Their meat loaf, chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes and all the numerous other sides are fabulous. We live out of town, which is probably good, since my portion control is pretty weak. We always stop here when we get in town.

We always ask for Amanda when we are here and she always welcomes us with a smile. We drive 2 hours one way just for the crab legs and are never disappointed. If you go make sure to ask for Amanda, she gives great customer service and always so sweet.

The buffet was excellent. They kept it well stocked. All the food that I had was very good. It was like home cooking. The people were nice, the service was good 👍 and the place was clean. 🙂

We picked this restaurant randomly and was hopping for the best!!! It was really good all the staff was friendly. Amanda was out waitress and she friendly and even told us about other deals thy have during the week. Even my picky child had plenty to eat. The dessert bar was amazing so many choices for everyone's taste!!!

We always ask for Amanda, she is the best server! She has top notch customer service! We drive 2 hours one way to come for the amazing chicken and crab legs!

Had a great dinner this evening at the Putnam Inn. My husband had gotten the Seafood buffet while I had ordered,off the menu. Both meals were very good. Our server, Robin, was wonderful! In spite of being extremely busy, she was always there to re-fill our glasses or take care of anything we might need. If you’re hungry in Greencastle, do yourself a favor and stop in!

We are so glad that breakfast is back even though it is just on the 2nd Saturday of every month. The variety is over the top! The servers are so friendly and easy to talk to. Olivia did a fantastic job of taking care of us today. Such a sweet young lady and congratulations on graduation from Vincennes University!

Lovely place to eat. I took my family there last Saturday and my server was very friendly. There were people taking care of the buffet all night. James greeted himself to me and was very kind and hard working. Overall I highly recommend to anyone wanting a home style buffet.

Very nice environment. Amazing home style food the server Amanda did a great job making sure everything was good and tasting fine and that our drinks were full.

That was my favorite place to eat. I loved they're home cooking down in the country where I grew up. Best cooking in a long time. And everyone was so nice.

First timers, Robin was a waitress and she was and absolute delight very attentive and friendly, crab legs very good plenty of flavor and nice size legs. Also enjoyed the ice cream. Worth the hour drive from indy!! Will be back

I had Robin as my waitress. She was very attentive got my order completely right always has a good attitude. She made sure that we all had refills and our food was hot and exactly the way that we ordered it. Robin is my favorite waitress.

We drive about an 1.5 to come here every so often. We get the crab leg buffet. The buffet itself is good but my husband hasn’t complained about the crab legs.

We love eating at Putnam Inn. Its long-time family owned hometown establishment with a great variety of home-cooked foods at an affordable price. The best thing is when you walk in and your waitress(Amanda E) already knows what you want to drink without having to ask, because she remembers her customers. That’s the kind of service that makes you feel welcome and “at home”. The dessert selection is just as excellent as the main food bar, which includes sugar free and vegan choices. Plus soft serve ice cream! Yum

This is my third time going to the Putnam inn. The food has been fresh every time. The staff has been genuinely friendly and helpful every time. This is a really nice place to have dinner.

Love their salad and hot bars and everything I've eaten here is excellent. Highly recommended for variety, generous portion sizes and healthy options as well as good deals on daily specials. It has a homey, comfortable feel, accompanied by friendly service. Take-out service has never disappointed.
Also, they have a brand newly redone bar and conference room that are beautifully decorated. Such a nice new change with a still comfortable and yet sleek atmosphere. Great daily drink specials, too. Thought I'd add some pics of the new remodel.

It was great. Our sever Amanda was amazing. We all loved the food.
