This restaurant is the best in town!!! I highly recommend the smashed potato, or grilled chicken salad! I just wish they were open everyday! On Thursdays, you have to get their fried fish! Talk about yum! And, they make their own tartar sauce! Don’t forget to ask for pickles and onion, too!

Food was very good! We had the buffer. 2 sides and drink were included. Don't expect fine dining but if you like dives, this is the place to go.

You have never had better home cooked food from such a small restaurant with the most friendly service and fair prices . And Thursday is Fish Day some of the best pond raised catfish you will ever taste along with all the different sides and sweet tea of course I encourage everyone to stop by at Swamp John's restaurant if you're ever in the area they also have a pick up window you can call ahead and they will have your order ready for you at the window if you prefer . Give them a try you will be glad you did I'm a happy customer for over 20 years now.

My wife told me all about this place before I visited. She & a few of her friends & relatives raved about it. I must say that it does have a style all its own. When you first drive up, you will think you are at an abandoned gas station. However, on other days the line for ordering goes out the door. It is a dive/hole-in-the-wall if ever there was one. It seems to be a bit of an acquired taste that locals absolutely love. If you're not from around here, it may take some getting used to. But I do recommend you give it a try if you are ever in the area. The catfish is the meal my wife loves most. Took a bit for me to appreciate it. But I happily go back when in the area. Just about everything is fried of course, and the tea is every bit as sweet as expected from in the South. I suggest you get everything to go since seating is very limited. Try it out to see if it is for you. But don't be shocked the messiness of the place. You're here for the taste, not the luxury.

Whan you get there you will wonder if you are even in the right spot, and yes you are. Its a very simple place and they even have a home made drive through window (nice tough). The staff was friendly and got everything in our order correct. The wait time for food was about whats to be expected for a fish and steak house. Overall we were highly satisfied and definitely plan on going back. (Its a 45 minute drive for us)

I work for the city of Clanton Alabama water department and Swamp John's catered an event for the city. The food was delicious, and the service was great. All of my coworkers had the same experience. Thank y'all for the great work and I will be spreading the word.

We were in Red Bay getting our Tiffin Motorcoach serviced. There’s decent eats around but this is hands down the best Grilled Catfish in this neck of the woods and on par with Texas best. Not oily yet tender and moist with just the right amount of seasoning that brings out the fish flavor without smothering it with spice. Generous helping too. We loved the hospitality. It‘s a reason we‘ll be back.

Amazing food, superior service from down home friendly staff. Even when short handed due to covid they remain pleasant to everyone, while doing 2 to 3 things at one time to keep everything running.

Best breakfast in town! Staff are very friendly. Would never had thought to stop here, looks like an abandoned gas station. You have to try it! You won’t be disappointed. I can’t speak for lunch & dinner have not had a chance to try yet.
