Wheeler's Restaurant

We were a bit weary of coming here after reading some of the reviews, but we made the stop anyway, and we're so glad we did! Clean, friendly, and delicious food. The salad bar was beautiful, well stocked, and fresh. The menu has a good selection and prices are reasonable. I like trying different foods you dont find anywhere else, so the Poutine with Roast Beef was my choice, it's delicious! Wish I had taken a photo before I devoured it. The chicken quasadilla was good. The Nachos Supreme was stacked and loaded. The staff were friendly and great! We'll be back. Highly recommend!

What a great experience. I've driven by this restaurant for most of my life and never stopped. Tonight I stopped and I walked in to one of the most quaint restaurants in Standish Michigan. I felt like I was walking back to the time of a diner. I was immediately greeted and told I could sit anywhere. I I chose a table and sat down within seconds by a waitress arrived, Anique. What a fantastic waitress. Polite kind attentive efficient I could go on and on. She recommended the pork chops out of two meals that I had pointed out that I was trying to decide. So I went with her recommendation on the pork chops. Wow those pork chops were probably one of the best meals I've had in quite a while. Pork chops were perfectly cooked juicy on the inside a slight crusty golden brown on the outside. And I honestly will say they were large. I also had a large loaded baked potato and cottage cheese, my choices. The meal was delicious and enjoyable. The cook brought the pork chops meal to me and asked if I would cut into the pork chops to see if they were good, I did and they were perfectly cooked. I am definitely going back to this restaurant to try other foods that they have on the menu. I took pictures and have included them with my posting. The only thing I didn't see was it handicap entrance.. The restaurant was clean orderly well taken care of and well decorated. This is a little gem hidden away in this small town USA. You're missing out if you haven't stopped here. I learned my lesson I need to stop at these little out of the way restaurants more often. I also got an order of many tacos to go and they were just right on taste when I got home.

Omg! Diamond in the rough! In the little town of Standish, right on 23, but a wonderful place to stop. Delicious food, great service, a salad bar like no other and Cops and Doughnuts branch in the restaurant. Donuts were so fresh and amazing! Definitely would recommend everyone to stop by😊❤❤

Fantastic restaurant this was a last minute choice to come here and I’m so glad we decided to go here great food, great service I can not say enough about this place I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

I love this place! The perch was delicious. Menu has lots of choices. Excellent service. Cute old diner style atmoshphere.

New Years breakfast. Food was served hot and quick. Our server was very attentive and the coffee was strong and hot. Definitely will be stopping by here again. Wow. And they have Cops and Doughnuts here too. Mmmmm

Recommend everyone stop here on there way to the Hale, ‘Twas, vacation areas. Cute little restaurant with the vibe of a bygone era. There are even juke boxes in the booths!! Food was hot, plentiful, and delicious. No complaints only compliments.

First time eating here was last Saturday for a late breakfast. Hands down best French toast AND BACON ! Service was fast (sorry Idk her name) and when my Ft arrived w/cinnamon but not powdered sugar, my server promptly returned w/a souffle cup full ! Honestly, I eat out too much and I live in metro Detroit so I have a LOT of choices. Now I'm just trying to think up an excuse to get back to Wheeler's for another delicious breakfast in their comfy booth ! Well done up there! Thanks for the great start to my Saturday :)

My fiancee and I took our 3 younger kiddos out to breakfast, and it was superb! Our server, Mallory, was great! Also, the food was delicious, and a great bargain! Thank you, we'll definitely be back!

An old-time pre-WW2 era building and mid-century atmosphere with some truly excellent Poutine. Salad bar also pretty tasty, my wife went up twice (which is rare) and seriously contemplated a third trip. BONUS - This has also been a bakery for over 80 years... now in partnership with Cops & Doughnuts. Mallory also provided us with great service!

My family and I came to visit from the DC area and stopped here for dinner yesterday. We LOVED it. Never had fried perch this delicious. It was the right amount of breading...So we returned today for the same thing and I made sure I got some for the road!

Great food! Had the 4th of July nachos and my partner had the wet burrito! Awesome! All you can eat soup, salad, and pudding bar! Super fresh and mostly homemade!! Jamie was our server she lead us in the right direction with food choices!!

Our Waitress greeted us promptly. Our drinks were refilled when needed, and our food was hot and fresh.

This is a neat old place. And when I say old, I mean that this place has been around for a long time. It's got that old welcoming local feel to it, even though I assume that they get a lot of tourists going down 23.

Their food wasn't bad at all. I ordered the chicken quasidilla, which was pretty good. They also have a salad bar, which I did not partake in, but it seemed to have a draw. They also serve donuts, which looked pretty good.

Going back to that nostalgic vibe, each booth has an old jukebox from way back in the day. It reminds me the old root beer stand days from the 50's or something.

Overall, this place is worth checking out if ever passing by.

Only complaint was the hashbrowns. But it very well could've been us. Delicious eggs, cooked perfectly! Clean well maintained dining area. Friendly staff! Will continue to return :)

The food was SUPER good. We went on a Sunday after camping all weekend, and it was pretty busy, but what do you expect from any restaurant on a Sunday? The service was great.
We got donuts before leaving, and the donuts were amazing😩 I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!
