Allegan County Animal Shelter

We adopted Moss just over 3 weeks ago renamed him Charlie. He was 9 weeks old when we brought him home and in the 3 weeks I can't even say it was accidents but he's only pottied and pooped in the house three times never expected a puppy like this from a shelter. was almost potty trained when we brought him home. The staff is excellent and really care about the animals that they have there up for adoption would recommend to all my friends and family

Nobody works harder or cares more than the people here with a limited resources they have with so many dogs it’s unimaginable that they could care for all of them. Amazing people here.

I love to volunteer there. Staff is nice and it's so rewarding.

I love volunteering with Wishbone Pet Rescue, which operates the shelter. Everyone here is very kind and has a passion for helping animals; they are very diligent in making sure that adopters are a good match with potential animals, and they do so much work to make sure that their animals are getting the best chance at being adopted into good homes.

Adopted my dog from here. He was already potty trained and perfect for the family.

We adopted our sweet Bunker yesterday! The minute we saw him on the Allegan Animal Shelter site we
knew we had to have him! We had such a great experience at the shelter. The staff were so helpful and the process was very quick. We applied to adopt Bunker on Tuesday and got to meet him & take him home Friday. They even gave us a box of goodies for Bunker such as a tooth brush, some food, and a leash. They also gave us some stain remover just in case he had a accident. We were looking and talking with local shelters but they didn't seem to put there animals first because it took weeks to get a call once we applied. You can truly tell that Allegan County Animal Shelter put the animals first! Thank you for such a great experience Allegan County Animal Shelter! Keep doing what your doing!!

This was a very clean shelter and all the pets were very well cared for! We are so happy that we got our little man! Thanks for your help!!

I had to drop off a stray cat here and while I had to pay a fee (for a cat, that wasn't mine) to drop her off, I was glad she got a chance to be adopted. The shelter is clean, accepts animals who need homes, and makes great efforts to get pets adopted. When looking for a new family member, I will definitely look here first before another rescue or shelter.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. I am in love with my new fur baby.

I helped my son adopt a cat from here. Paulie is a year and a half gorgeous solid black cat. The process to adopt was easy. Staff was great! Price was better than most places and paulie was fixed and vetted! I am going back to find a dog for me soon.

They have all available animals on line to view with the characters of each, so that you know if they have something suitable for you. They asked that you do a weekend visit *before* you initially buy them. I got my Dream Dog here!! The Staff is awesome!! Not to mention, they have the best facility for the dogs I have ever seen in my life. They have a huge play area that you can bring the dog outside and play ball or catch or whatever. In the summertime they have the small plastic childrens pool, that they allow the dogs to get in and play outside. It is in the country and I am sure the dogs like it there.... for being in a shelter. Thank you for being so Great!! (((Hugs)))

If you are looking for a dog please consider adopting. It's a fact that pure bred/breeder farm dogs are less intelligent and healthy than mixed breeds. You are also doing a great thing by adopting a homeless pupper and giving it a home. The staff here are great and will help you find a dog that will be a good fit for you.

I recently adopted a little Chihuahua named Cooper. He is such alittle love. The staff were very thorough when making sure he was a good fit with our family. we already had a teacup Chihuahua, she needed a friend. Cooper has been a wonderful addition to our family. Both Layla and Cooper are best friends. I can't imagine life without Cooper!

Just adopted our 3 newest family members this past week (adorable kitty siblings) and the experience was fantastic.

We had a bit of a hiccup on our end, but they helped guide us through it and were patient with us.

We applied for a dog on Sunday and got her Tuesday and she's an amazing dog

Great customoer service! Pets are well cared for and they review each pet applicant to ensure they get placed in a good home that will properly care.for them. Adoption fees are fair and include spay or neutering.
Now to find homes for all.these beautiful animals!

Everyone there was so helpful, when I got to adopt our Lester. The staff was amazing and very helpful every step of the way. We are very excited to be able to get such a great dog for our family.

A ton of paperwork but Cosmo was our perfect Fur Baby. Glad they did the background checks and asked a lot of questions. What a wonderful experience. Contacted us daily with the processa d we were very pleased. Such a great organization. Bravo!

This is a very caring shelter and won't stop until each animal finds their furever home. The animals are well taken care of and loved while at the shelter and given wonderful veterinarian care. I encourage everyone whose looking for a fur baby to go to the Allegan County Animal Shelter and help the animals thre get their furever home!
