Riemer Floors

This is our second project with Kimberly of Riemer Floors. The first one was a few years ago and was a small den. This time we replaced the carpeting in the majority of our home including the living room, dining room on the main floor, stairway, and alcove office on the upper level. Kimberly was great at the show room and gave us very good advice in selecting the material. On the day of instalation the installers showed up on time and Mario did a great job removing the old carpeting and pads and installing the beautiful new materials. They even vacuumed the entire area and put all of the furniture back for us. I would give them very high review score and certainly use them again when our bedrooms need to be recarpeted.

Absolutely hands down one of the best sales/contractor/installation experiences we have ever had. We hit the lotto with Chris Higgins our sales specialist. Chris was personable, zero pressure, and very well versed in his products, he never gave us any impression he had any interest other than the best outcome for our home, If I could buy everything I ever needed from Chris I would be happy.

Throughout our shopping/decision process the whole team was great with helping us bring samples home, exchange them, even ordering special samples from the manufacturer for us. Regardless of whether Chris was in the office the whole team took care of us and was more than happy to help.

We had a pretty big installation project, most of our home received new flooring, a mix of carpet and hardwood. The installation took place pretty quickly (started about 3.5 weeks from purchase) and Mike our hardwood installer was amazing, I could write a novel about how good this guy was. Super personable, very communicative, just an overall great experience, similar to Chris, if Mike could install everything we ever needed in our home I would be elated.

Our carpet was installed by a different set of gents, working for Bob's crew we had Wayne and Ricky doing our carpet, I honestly didn't know there was such a thing as quality differences in carpet installations, but after the first room was finished I was flabbergasted. It looks amazing, and the transition areas from our hardwood to our carpet look amazing, honestly couldn't be happier.

We did notice a few spots that needed some touch up from our hardwood install, no big deal, its a lot of hardwood, bound to happen. One call to Chris and he arranged a service dispatch, they were out within a few days and again, amazing experience, Maik, our repair tech, ended up replacing one of our hardwood boards and I was shocked, you could never tell. He was super professional and polite, cleaned up everything and left our home looking better than he found it.

The best part of working with Riemer has been the feeling that everyone we work with respects and cares about our home, it was like they were shopping for themselves and working on their own home. I was happy to hear that Riemer offers tile and other installation services beyond flooring because we are going to buy everything we possible can through Riemer.

Our experience with Riemer for new carpeting in our basement was truly wonderful from all aspects. Chris Coulter was our flooring specialist and he went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met. He was responsive to questions via phone call and email. He allowed us to take several samples to our home in order to view them in different lights. I also never felt pressured to make a decision. When it came time for the installation, our installer Doug was also phenomenal. He was professional, thorough and did an excellent job installing both the baseboards and the carpet. It was easy to communicate with him to schedule the installation process. We are extremely happy with the outcome of our job and will be using Riemer for our all of our flooring needs in the future!

The service at Riemer Floors is top-notch. They have a wonderful selection of flooring materials, and a very proficient team of installers. My salesman (Tim Michon) was very patient, helping me sort through flooring options for my kitchen, offering advice and explaining materials. I will be a returning customer!

We just recently worked with Tim for new carpeting in our home. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly through the process. He made sure we were well taken care of and ensured we chose the best product for what we wanted while respecting our financial boundaries. He was patient and caring. My neighbor used Riemer Floors to install luxury vinyl floors in her condo. She highly recommended their services and I decided to have them install my hardwood floors also. Jillian was my sales representative and when I spoke to her I could tell she would be thorough and timely in her responses. I was not disappointed. When my crew arrived they got right to work and assessed what needed to be done. I had followed Jillian’s instructions about removing loose items from the rooms so furniture could be moved around efficiently. They discovered after removing the carpet that it would be necessary to install a new subfloor and there would be an additional cost. This was explained to me and I approved knowing that hardwood must be installed properly to last a lifetime. Handled very professionally by the work crew, Jillian and staff. Within 2 days an old subfloor was torn out, a new one put in, and the beautiful hardwood was completely installed. I’m thrilled with my new floors! The craftsmanship is awesome and cleanup was perfect. I highly recommend this company and their entire staff.

We had a wonderful experience with Riemer floors and Kimberly. We received some great advice for which carpets, fitted our needs best and all the promise of delivery, set up and price were kept. Kimberly did an exceptional job and it was very easy and felt comfortable to work with her! The workers of the installation, were very friendly, professional and fast. I recently went to Riemer Floors! WOW! Talk about professional from when I first walked in the door a reception is greeted me. Within 3 minutes, a new young salesperson, Chris Was there to help me from the beginning to the end. He was patient, helpful,and kind Seeing it was the first time I was buying carpet. There are so many choices what a beautiful showroom and and not pushy. Chris came out promptly to measure my 2 rooms. My choices were made.
In a short. Of time. Before you knew it.
Kevin was installing my amazing plush carpet. I also had requested a recommendation for a vacuum cleaner for such plush carpet. Before I knew it Chris was delivering one to my work amazing! I love my new carpet and even more. So the Riemer family did a wonderful job. THANK YOU PAUL!

We have used Riemer Floors, working with Kimberly Riemer, on a number of occasions, most recently to replace the carpet in my Mother's condo. Kimberly worked within our budget to find just the right product for our needs. The installers, Ole and his coworker, did an excellent job and were very respectful of the environment in which they were working. Received our new customer rug for our family room today. The delivery and installation went very well, and the set-up team did a great job of installing our rug and positioning the furniture on the rug. The installers were very friendly and accommodating. Only negative thing was that we were told by the scheduler that they would call an hour before the delivery time. They did not call and the delivery was an hour early. Good thing we were home.

From start to finish, from our initial browsing through purchase through installation and follow up, this experience was a pleasure. The selection at Riemer is great, their prices are competitive, but above and beyond is the level of professionalism and service throughout. Kimberly Riemer represents her family's business with care and consideration and everyone we dealt with, including receptionists and the installer, gave us confidence that we were in great hands.

This is THE BEST place to find beautiful flooring! I recently had my beautiful Karastan carpeting and LVT installed in my master suite and am extremely happy with the whole process. SALES, INSTALLATION & SERVICE are by far the best in Metro Detroit. Previously, I had carpeting in other rooms replaced by another company and was so disappointed with the entire process. I decided to replace my kitchen floor and laundry room floor with Armstrong Alterna Grouted tile. Only two places near me sold this. One was Metro Floor in Farmington hills and the other was Riemer. My previous floor was ceramic tile which was laid on top of linoleum and was under my kitchen cabinets. The flooring was not laid properly and there was no sub floor under the ceramic tile. I knew this job was going to be extremely difficult in terms of the labor. I went to both places and didn't feel confident after talking to Metro floor covering. The minute I set foot in Riemer, I knew that I was going to get a quality installation because I described what I had and the next day, my salesperson, Dave Gola came out to look at it. After testing the linoleum for asbestos ( thankfully there wasn't any), He did complete measurements and told me that he would get back with me about installation costs. The tile was cheaper at the other store and Dave Gola said they would match it so this was a no-brainer for me. The next day I got a detailed email estimate with everything from the beginning of the job to the end of the job and nothing left out. The installation was costly as I expected because of the nature of the way the floor was laid and how it had to be removed. We scheduled the job and two weeks later, we started. My installer, Todd Brough was not only top notch, but also very reliable, immaculate and a heck of a nice guy! He is a perfectionist and that is exactly what I needed. From the dumpster being delivered and the appliances being moved and then reattached, I have never had any work in my house that went smoother than this! There is a reason why Riemer Floors has been in business for 75 years. Even the head of installation scheduling, Dion was wonderful. I previously had gone with another company to do all the wood flooring in my house and I regret that I used them because it was a nightmare. This was like a walk in the park! Riemer Floors... Great company to work with. They let us have the sample book for a long time while we waited for our countertops to be installed so we could make sure we picked the best marmoleum color for our kitchen. Installation happened in the middle of COVID and the employee worked efficiently, was incredibly kind and above all worked with a mask on to keep us safe. I highly recommend this company.

I really appreciate a company who puts the customer first. Riemer Floors is one of those companies. The flooring in almost every room in our house was purchased at and installed by Riemer. Over the course of thirty years, this meant us going back to Riemer to over again as we redecorated some of the rooms. This includes carpeting on our first and second floors, and the vinyl plank floor that they installed in our basement this year. There ended up being a problem with the stairs going to the basement, which also had the vinyl plank installed on them. At the front of each step is a piece called a bullnose. Unfortunately, it came loose on a couple of stairs. The first time, they sent a technician out and he glued it back down. When it happened a second time, Mike was the technician they sent. Not only did he reglue the pieces, but he also looked carefully at the way that the producer of the vinyl plank had designed the bullnose and said that this was going to keep happening if it wasn’t reinforced in some way.

Mike came up with a solution. He measured the stairs and cut and stained a wood molding that complements the stairway. He then installed these under the lip of each stair, supporting the bullnose. Even though this was a design flaw in the product and had nothing to do with the installation Riemer had done, we were not charged anything for the work. Riemer Floors clearly puts the customer first and hires exceptionally good people like Mike and retains them for years.

What a great experience! We had an unexpected need to recarpet one of our bedrooms due to a pipe leak. My wife went to Riemer during their March 2 day sale and met Chris Coulter. He couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable. He walked us through the steps needed to remediate our existing problem and over many days of concerns and questions, Chris helped us find a nice match for our type and color existing carpet. It turned out fantastic. Thank you Chris and Riemer Floors for helping us when we really needed it.
